Ordered takeout after getting into town late after a long drive. Ordered 6 tacos for taco Tuesday specials and was very impressed with the flavor, portion size and value for money. Favorite was the Philly cheese steak followed by the fish, wasn’t crazy about the pork belly. Also got a to go cocktail that was very good. Would definitely come back.

It was Taco Tuesday so we ordered $5 tacos and $10 Margarita. We tried pork belly, sweet potato, shrimp, fish, carne asada, and spicy chicken tacos and I have to say the pork belly and spicy chicken were my favorite. All were tasty. The bartender gal even tasted drinks (with a finger on a straw holding some of the drink) before serving. Very friendly staff. The vibe and music were enjoyable. HH is M-Th 2-4 and they offer a few drinks and food items. Looking forward to trying some other things on their menu. Came backs 2nd time!

While in mammoth with my family, we decided to stop by and say hi and try some cocktails.

Alec the bartender and one of the servers / support staff took care of our group with exceptional customer service. We arrived unannouced during the busiest night of the holiday weekend and they took the time to welcome us and make us feel right at home.

The cocktails were made with high quality ingredients and care, which usually takes a long time, but they manage to run their establishment with efficiency as well.

We had a few classic old fashioneds, the peppercini martini and a few of the N/A cocktails. Alec was even kind enough to bring us a sample flight of their staple whiskeys, a new variety just released featuring yellow corn, and some palate cleansing beverages so we could really taste the whiskey through and through.

As someone who has worked in the bar/entertainment industry for a over 10 years, I am quite impressed with the experience they deliver. If you find yourself in Mammoth, its a stop you wont want to skip.

Thanks for a great experience!

We had a nice late lunch with the gluten free pepperoni pizza, the brisket sandwich and the veggie pizza. The pizzas were legit but a bit small. Overall a good option for a Gluten Free meal.

The margs were solid as expected. The tacos are awesome, and the Caesar salad and artichoke dip was great.

I would not recommend.

Seating is first in first served. I approached the server cleaning the table and he explained to sit anywhere and use the QR code to order.

Not a fan of ordering by a QR code. I can see it being a good option if you were by yourself and it was great that it enabled quick payment. However for a family with young kids without cell phones, it meant every person had to take the phone to look at the menu. There wasn’t a single paper menu to be found. Therefore it took much longer than usual to order.

The food came out quite quickly which I appreciated. We had pizzas, pasta and tacos. They were average and slightly overcooked. Self serve water and there was no salt and pepper for example.

The server bringing the food was pleasant and but overall service was lacking for a sit down restaurant. Amusingly, there was a recommendation for a 22% tip on the bill.

This was my second time visiting. The first visit was in 2023. Much had changed since our first visit and we won’t be back. In fact, I recommend you NOT go until their food handling is improved (see below).

Food: We had the pepperoni pizza (GF and non-GF), pretzel, and crunchy tuna roll. The pizza tasted like frozen pizza. The pretzel was as expected. Cheese sauce was slightly lumpy. The tuna roll was mediocre. I would not recommend any of these.

Drinks: We had the Sierra Wave and foggy Whiskey. The Sierra Wave’s flavors were off balance. The Foggy Whiskey tasted water downed with little flavor. Both were $17-18. Not worth their price at all. I would say that well drinks are much better.

Service: You order everything at the table via your phone. Staff only prepare and deliver food to your table. The service we had was mixed. Some staff were pleasant. Others brisk.

Food handling violation: We sat at the back patio of the restaurant. These seats allow you to see into the kitchen in back. As we finished eating and prepared to leave, I saw a kitchen staff (white woman, brown long hair) tear open sauce packets with her teeth multiple times in order to pour them into small cups that were added onto plates (e.g., soy sauce). I also saw her lick her fingers afterward. She looked at me while doing this. I have never witnessed such blatant disregard for food safety.

We had tacos and tostadas. Both tasted okay. Service was slow but one of the few places offering food after 9:30. Their cocktails were good.

Be warned this place will put a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR pre authorization hold on your card if you start a tab and won’t release the funds for TWO DAYS. I worked in bars for almost a decade doing everything from floor/door staff, security, inventory/orders, barbacking, bartending, and management and I’ve NEVER seen or heard of anything that ludicrous. Preauth holds are almost ALWAYS $1, and in some cases $10. The manager tried to justify this ridiculous business practice with “well a lot of people walk out on their tabs.” Well, that sounds like a whole lot of not my problem. Because you can’t get people to pay their tabs you’re deflecting YOUR problem onto your patrons to bear the burden of the issue. This is an outright lazy, greedy, and inconsiderate business practice by the ownership/management and if it weren’t for the fact they’re located in an area that allows them to prey on tourists a combination of such practices and inflated pricing they’d likely be out of business. Here’s a hint from someone who actually knows how to run a fair bar; quit being greedy and hire a door staff. Hold IDs for tabs over $50, or $20, or any tab, whatever. Don’t deflect the burden of YOUR problem as a business onto your patrons. 0 shot they have a regular base that puts up with that.

It was a very disappointing experience, it is very impersonal, we could order from or speak with the rude bartender/waitress. After visiting Mammoth Lakes Brewing and June Lakes Brewing, which we had a wonderful experience with the staff and we could speak with them regarding their varieties of beer, we will revisit those 2 breweries, but not Shelton distillery.
