A very lovely meal that was a bit expensive for the portion sizes but we enjoyed everything we ate. Some highlights were the GravLox and the duck breast. The outside of the building was not what we expected although the inside was nice. The service was also excellent.

The food and service can’t be any better. Be sure to leave room for the desserts, the quality and taste is world class, can’t be any better. Reasonable prices, worth every penny.

This place is popular and in high demand so be sure to book your reservations well in advance. I tried making a reservation 5 days ahead of time but they were fully booked. I did not originally think there would be no availability on a Thursday that far in advance but I realize now I should have booked earlier knowing that this restaurant is on everyone’s radar. We ended up getting squeezed in the following day at 8pm (kind of late for us to eat dinner but we weren’t going to complain!) We were happy to be there and the vibes were welcoming. We sat at the bar near the kitchen so it felt like an intimate experience. The food was good, but if you are a fine dining expert this will not wow you. I ordered champagne, we each ordered a salad, split the tomato bisque, and ordered starters as our main dishes. It definitely felt like there was pressure to order an entree each for that higher bill, and I could feel the judgement, but we both felt inclined to order what we wanted, money not an issue, and that just happened to be starters. And by the end of our time there we both were very satiated. Skadi is definitely placed higher on the upscale food list for Mammoth, which is not necessarily the place you come for prime cuisine, but they are definitely trying to set the tone! Each plate is prepared with intention. I hope Mammoth can place itself more on the map as a location a foodie might want to explore. Skadi could be the catalyst for that, let’s hope!

I'm super happy that my husband booked this restaurant. It's probably the best meal I've had in a long time. Every single dish is well designed and executed, I can tell chef put a lot of efforts and study behind. We ordered 3 appetizers which are deer heart, mushroom crepe and today's special, which is like a gelatin mixed with duck, goose and pheasant, it's like a Russian-style ham I had before. Deer heart is the most impressive dish, the 4 layers are perfectly designed together to balance all the flavors in one bite. Mushroom crepe is super umami with the mushroom paste, slices and sauces all together. Jarlsberg cheese is so well to be the layers for mushrooms. Duck breasts are perfectly cooked, I love the German sauerkraut and raspberry sauce to garnish with it. The Swiss - German style dumplings are perfect to be the side. The dessert - Skadi's Chocolate Tastings, OMG, it's such a star to end the meal. All the chocolate desserts on that plate need to be treated seriously, because every single bite is so flavorful. There are so many things going on once you put it in your mouth. I can write a whole article about the foods here. But what you can do is just to book a reservation and come to try it out by yourself.

Food was phenomenal, vibe was immaculate, and service was impeccable. Very reasonably priced compared to similar restaurants in LA. The chef was super fun and down to earth, very obviously proud and passionate about his creations and was eager to share his knowledge with us. We sat at the chef’s counter with an open kitchen right in front of us and loved watching the kitchen staff prep every dish. This intimate fine dining restaurant super close to the Village serving Nordic cuisine is exactly what we need after a cold and exhausting day on the slopes! Would 100% recommend!
