A group of us dined here during Mammoth Gay Ski Week and we were very impressed with the food quality and service. The flavoring and texture in each dish were incredible and the service was top notch. The chef stopped by our table multiple times to explain dishes and check in on us. We will return to this restaurant next year.

Food was amazing. We live in L. A. and make it a priority to eat well. Travel extensively. This restaurant was an absolute surprise . Atmosphere great, service great, food exceptional. This restaurant would be a stand out anywhere. Next time we are in mammoth, we will be eating here every night.

A very lovely meal that was a bit expensive for the portion sizes but we enjoyed everything we ate. Some highlights were the GravLox and the duck breast. The outside of the building was not what we expected although the inside was nice. The service was also excellent.

Had an amazing dinner with my family at Skadi! Service was on point and the chef did such a great job with the presentation. Really enjoyed the duck and venison.

We didn't have reservations here planned but managed to get in at the last minute from calling the restaurant a couple times during our time in Mammoth. It seems to be a Scandinavian themed restaurant based on some of the menu items. The bread knife they provided during the bread service was a wooden knife hand carved by the head chef himself. The food here was really outstanding. My husband wanted to try one of the more exotic appetizers so we opted for one that had shaved deer heart on a cracker topped with a sweet jam. He ordered the duck breast and I opted for a very simple dish, chicken breast but it came topped over porcini mushroom and spinach risotto with Parmesan sea foam. I've never had chicken breast that tender and flavorful and the risotto mix was so rich and delicious! The whole experience was very delightful! We will be back the next time we are in town!

Quite a different concept for Mammoth, but very well thought out. Their wine list was carefully crafted and included many European wines. Their food is creative so don't be afraid to try some new things. We got a salmon appetizer and a mushroom crepe to begin with. Both were so delicious. I also ordered a creamy mushroom soup that was to die for. For mains, my husband got the duck. At first he was disappointed about the portion size, but it was so rich and flavorful that it filled him up. I got the steak and it was cooked perfectly. For the pescatarians, they had two fish options-salmon and scallops. I would love to see a vegetarian based dish created by the chef. I bet if chef created a vegetarian dish it would be out of this world!!! Service was good for fine dining and the chef walked around to all the tables to be personable with every one. The actual restaurant itself is tucked away near the Village. I think it was an old garage that they converted into a restaurant. The artwork and photos on the wall were interesting too! I think this place is worth trying if you'd like a break from the bar food that most of mammoth offers.

This place deserves a Michellen rating. Exquisite food and presentation. Dedicated service, made and served with love and pride. dining here is an experience. The food and service can’t be any better. Be sure to leave room for the desserts, the quality and taste is world class, can’t be any better. Reasonable prices, worth every penny.

This place is popular and in high demand so be sure to book your reservations well in advance. I tried making a reservation 5 days ahead of time but they were fully booked. I did not originally think there would be no availability on a Thursday that far in advance but I realize now I should have booked earlier knowing that this restaurant is on everyone’s radar. We ended up getting squeezed in the following day at 8pm (kind of late for us to eat dinner but we weren’t going to complain!) We were happy to be there and the vibes were welcoming. We sat at the bar near the kitchen so it felt like an intimate experience. The food was good, but if you are a fine dining expert this will not wow you. I ordered champagne, we each ordered a salad, split the tomato bisque, and ordered starters as our main dishes. It definitely felt like there was pressure to order an entree each for that higher bill, and I could feel the judgement, but we both felt inclined to order what we wanted, money not an issue, and that just happened to be starters. And by the end of our time there we both were very satiated. Skadi is definitely placed higher on the upscale food list for Mammoth, which is not necessarily the place you come for prime cuisine, but they are definitely trying to set the tone! Each plate is prepared with intention. I hope Mammoth can place itself more on the map as a location a foodie might want to explore. Skadi could be the catalyst for that, let’s hope!

I'm super happy that my husband booked this restaurant. It's probably the best meal I've had in a long time. Every single dish is well designed and executed, I can tell chef put a lot of efforts and study behind. We ordered 3 appetizers which are deer heart, mushroom crepe and today's special, which is like a gelatin mixed with duck, goose and pheasant, it's like a Russian-style ham I had before. Deer heart is the most impressive dish, the 4 layers are perfectly designed together to balance all the flavors in one bite. Mushroom crepe is super umami with the mushroom paste, slices and sauces all together. Jarlsberg cheese is so well to be the layers for mushrooms. Duck breasts are perfectly cooked, I love the German sauerkraut and raspberry sauce to garnish with it. The Swiss - German style dumplings are perfect to be the side. The dessert - Skadi's Chocolate Tastings, OMG, it's such a star to end the meal. All the chocolate desserts on that plate need to be treated seriously, because every single bite is so flavorful. There are so many things going on once you put it in your mouth. I can write a whole article about the foods here. But what you can do is just to book a reservation and come to try it out by yourself.
