Lamb rack was some of the best I’ve had. Not sure why the reviews for this place is so bad

After reading reviews, I was a bit skeptical of getting dinner there. But I’m staying at the hotel and didn’t feel like going anywhere else. I had fried calamari and fried onions appetizer was very good. It didn’t come with lemon wedges and the sauce was only sprinkled a bit over, so asked for both of those to complete the dish. My main was rack of lamb, cooked to my liking, I must say potatoes and asparagus could have been warmer, but it wasn’t a bad. Overall, it was very tasty dish, I enjoyed it! I loved my desert drink - white chocolate pistachio martini, delicious 🤤 And the best part I could have my dog with me, they have 3 small tables outside of restaurant where they allow doggies😊

Probably the worst meal I've had in Mammoth. The salad had old borderline spoiled lettuce, and I had the “crispy chicken” entree which was tough not crispy. I felt bad for the servers who were so nice.

Beautiful restaurant with great service and food. I had the Tagliatelle with Braised Beef and my husband had the burger with fries. We split a Caesar Salad which was a good size. Highly recommend.

This is my and each experience is getting worse. The first one start off with Italian dish with the beef Ragu, which was literally frozen on the inside of the meat. I sent it back and it came back boiling hot on top and literally frozen meat again I decided to give it another try. It took a long time before we were seen by your waiter. He apologize for taking so long.. details were missed we asked for no cheese in our salad and my chicken was undercooked The staff was very friendly and I appreciate their efforts. It just seemed more like there's some issues going on in the kitchen or at the execution of their service and food preparation. To be fair, they removed my Italian dish, but I think my days of going to White bark are done unless it's out of extreme convenience

So disappointed - what happened to Whitebark? This used to be an amazing restaurant and now it is a total miss. Food was mediocre at best, the lights were turned up too bright. The sushi/shabu bar is just sitting there vacant and empty. The menu is extremely limited now. We ordered the hummus appetizer and it came with a tzatziki that was runny and served in a plastic cup like a takeout container. The chicken on the beet salad was dry and over cooked, the salad was subpar at best. The butter lettuce salad was the best item we ordered, but not worth a trip on its own. This used to be a five star restaurant experience, I will not go back.

To be honest i’m not one to ever leave a low review but it’s deserved here, got my drink and mind I don’t drink much and I get it on the rocks, the drink was very watered down it’s like they put no liquor, I usually struggle to sip it, I asked my waiter and he checked for me and the bartender came by and had very rude comment “ I promise you it was. 2 ounces” I mean 12$ drink you’d think they care about customer service but no, instead they get a low review .

We came to a hotel that accepts dogs and then we're told that the restaurant does not allow dogs! So we had to leave and go to a restaurant that does. Even restaurants that don't accept dogs will allow our 10 pound Pomeranian if we agree that it is a service dog, it is a therapy dog. But this restaurant quizzed us about it and said we could not stay. But then we were offered room service and as we looked at the menu were then told that we could keep our dog in an unused area! So we sat in an area unoccupied and unappealing. And we were lied to! This is not a restaurant I will ever go back to.

Unfortunately we were never assigned a server. I happen to stop three different staff members to help with food and drink orders. Still no one stopped by to check in or help. I asked a fourth staff member who was our server and he came back and said he didn't know. Erica who took our order by flagging her down confirmed that we had no server. Every single table around us was served with detail and care...it made me feel singled out and invisible. To make my experience worse, my king salmon was undercooked and could not get myself to eat it. After requesting to speak to Garrett the manager, I felt seen and validated, but the experience had already impacted me.

Great food and excellent service. Located in the Westin hotel, the restaurant is very convenient—just steps from the Village Gondola. My steak was cooked perfectly, and my wife absolutely loved her burger.

the flavor was off both times I ate there, a filet with cheese on it? Poorly cooked brocolini, salad just so so. If it wasn't in the hotel, this place wouldn't be open. And the price, whew!

We're not sure what is happening with this restaurant. We assume a lack of management and training overall. We really wanted to love it as the location couldn't be better. We had consistently very poor food- all meals breakfasts to dinners- over our 3 day stay in Mammoth. Food was served cold, it was greasy, tasteless, tough, and pricey...not the experience we expected from WhiteBark. Hope management will take note, as it is in need of top to bottom overhaul. As one person said, it should close down for a significant time period to overhaul literally everything. As long time Bonvoy members, we feel obliged report our experience to Marriott corporate. We don't like leaving poor reviews but we hope for better.

We were seated and waited over 20 minutes without any service. When the manager finally came over, they told us we should leave. Extremely disappointing.

The pasta had to have been days old and seemed like it was scooped onto a plate from a bucket of leftovers. The server almost seemed embarrassed and intentionally didn't ask us how things were because he already knew.
