Horrible, took them an hour to deliver one poor dish to our room when they said it’ll be 10 minutes every time we called, got hung up on and put on hold, food was way too sweat and overcooked.

In the Westin next to the Village. Good food, the chicken Ceasar salad didn't have a big punch of flavor. Branzino also ok. Chicken mezzo very good.
The brownie desert is large enough for four!

We had a really great meal here. Our server Bobby was really attentive to our needs and also helped us pick gluten free options and ensure the kitchen took proper precautions. The food and drinks were delicious, we had the ahi tuna salad, the fish of the day, and the lamb, with sides of mashed potatoes and wild mushrooms. All items were generously portioned. My only complaint really was that the lamb was a bit overcooked for medium rare. I’m sure if I’d said something they would have taken it back but I hate wasting meat. Some of the recent negative reviews I don’t think are accurate, at least for the dinner experience. We have been coming here for years and would definitely return.

I want to like this place and we go back now and then but always regret it. The food is crap. $60 for a steak than should only be used for dog food. I am not going back to this place if I can avoid it.

Dinner was overpriced and the service was painfully slow. Breakfast - Had to wait 30 minutes for a premade parfait and smoothie. They seemed short-staffed — always a wait to be seated because the hostess is also covering tables. If you’re staying at the Westin, maybe stop in for a drink, but I’d head elsewhere in town for a better dining experience.

Let me start this off by saying, HORRIBLE experience.
Our service throughout the rest of our experience eating at the Whitebark has gone downhill. Nearly every time we stay at the Westin in Mammoth, there is something new wrong with the Whitebark.
They seem to never hire the right managers. Jennifer, who was the manager before, did an okay job. A bit rude it seemed but okay service. The new manager amanda, that works at the whitebark, is beyond rude. She ignored us at our table after asking for her, and before that, told us we needed a reservation to even sit down. Mind you, the entire restaurant was empty! We ended up getting seated and finally ordered our food. We had to wait at the front for about 7 minutes before she even noticed us standing there. Does this restaurant not hire hosts? Do they not ever stand at the host stand?
It took almost 45 minutes just for two thrown together burgers. This place claims it is fine dining, yet they only serve diner food for the most part.
Also, the prices for the Whitebark have gone UP when the service has gone DOWN! Rapidly!!!
Those two burgers my wife and I got, which were 40 dollars combined, were burnt when asked for medium rare. There were tomatoes on my wife's burger when she asked for none.
The next day, we both tried the chicken schnitzel. It was so rock-hard. I thought I chipped my tooth at first!
I am not sure who, in their right mind, approved the raising of whitebark menu items. Whoever did should be fired, and the whole restaurant needs quite a few lessons on service. The prices DO NOT match the quality of food or service.
I remember when there was a sushi bar, and the staff cared about their customers. It seems better business practices are not practiced at this establishment.

To anyone thinking they would have a good night eating here, do not even fool yourself. This establishment must be bulldozed and rebuilt again, with a new front of house manager.

I can see why this restaurant has less than 4 stars. Whitebark is located inside The Westin Monache Resort, which is completely pet friendly, so you would only assume their restaurant INSIDE the property would also be pet friendly. Not to mention, it also states the restaurant is pet friendly online as well. When we arrived for our 6pm reservation, the 2 staff members greeted us & did not mention ANYTHING about our dog being with us. It wasn't until the hostess came to seat us that we found out their restaurant isn't pet friendly. WHY wouldn't the 2 staff members that saw us enter the restaurant have said that? It would've saved us time in looking for somewhere else to eat. Our 5-10 minute experience at this restaurant was enough to ruin a perfectly great weekend & experience with The Westin.

For a restaurant touting only prime meats, the filet mignon at $71.- a La carte was sub-par, fatty, and tasted like they put a teriyaki sauce on it-disgusting!! If I'm paying $71.- for a 6oz filet it should be seared and seasoned with butter or a sauce of MY choice! For the three of us it was close to $400.- ridiculous!

Great venue and service. I had the swordfish (was good, not great), wife had a beet and shrimp salad (also good). Overall would go again.

This was probably my eighth time dining at this restaurant. While it started off great, the experience has consistently gone downhill. The service has become slower, and the staff, unfortunately, seem inattentive. I saw guests left waiting by the entrance for over 10 minutes with no explanation, even though there were clearly tables available. It’s truly disappointing to see how much the quality has declined. Even though I am offered breakfast vouchers every time I stay at Westin, I won’t be returning.

Most of the food was properly cooked, specially the lamb chops but the fish plates were overcooked and dry for a party of 10 people

Jennifer

If you sit on one side of the restaurant there is lots of light and a view. If you sit on the other side it's dark, no view, no ambience and loud next to bar. We had reservations and they would not seat us on the nice side. All courses salad, appetizer, dinner and first round of drinks came out at the same time and then we were rushed by server to eat our $300 meal fast. If looking for a nice restaurant in town to celebrate occasions would recommend trying somewhere else.

Overpriced for what it is! $78 for a 8oz steak in a hotel lobby restaurant that not even a high end steak house is insane

Vanessa

Waitress was not well informed on menu, nor did she appear to be interested in finding out answers to our questions on the menu. The food was just ok. The best part of the meal were the cocktails. They have some training to do with their staff.
