The ribs were very good. The side dishes with the ribs were lacking in taste and quality. The quality was lacking. The corn muffin should be served warm with butter. The potato salad did not taste good. Just serve a regular home style. Do try to make over fancy and loose appeal. White winter salad good, but slice it to allow ease in eating.

We dined at the Whitebark twice and had two breakfasts there as well. Overall the food was really good. The menu had creative options including really delicious healthy options. Dinner service was good (though breakfast service was much slower). My only major complaint about this restaurant which pulled down the review to a 3 was the manager. She was extremely rude and disrespectful to us. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the restaurant, there was strong smell of marijuana and we asked if she could do anything about it given the number of small children in the restaurant. She outright refused and said that she was too busy to do anything. Instead of speaking to the hotel manager to see if anything could be done, she walked away from us yelling that she was too busy “doing her job”. Unfortunately, for this restaurant, the manager has no place in the hospitality business. Restaurant owners should consider relocating her to performing skills that she may be better suited for rather than anything that requires hospitality or patron interactions. Thankfully, we reached out to the hotel manager who took the initiative of addressing the intrusive smell.I do not want to take away from the overall service of the restaurant - we found the waiters to be very helpful though they could have used more waitstaff as it was hard for the waitstaff to keep up with the tables.

We ate here for dinner, and it was great. Food was excellent and a good value for the area. Then we had breakfast twice, and both times it was disappointing. The cooks don't know how to properly cook eggs (they did not understand what poached eggs are supposed to be like, and burned the edges of a fried egg) and the sweet dishes like French toast and pancakes were also disappointing. It feels like they need to hire more knowledgeable staff for breakfast, but would recommend for dinner.

I have eaten here many times before, and food has always been satisfactory. Nothinh amazing, but good enough for Mammoth (not a foodie's haven). But last night was a new low - the kimchi fried rice was inedible (absolutely no taste), and the kale salad was beyond tough. My friend's halumi plate was so salty that she had to send it back. The best I can say, our waitress was very nice and the cocktails were good. Will not come back.

We ate at Whitebark twice as it was conveniently located at the Westin. The food was great. Lots of choice, creative menu and good vegetarian options. The only major criticism i would have is that the restaurant manager was awful. She was extremely rude and disrespectful to us, unbecoming of a restaurant of this caliber. The restaurant ownership and senior management should seriously consider putting her in a position where she does not interact with patrons (such as a dishwasher)

Had the halibut and it was overcooked which was surprising for a $45 dish. Crab soup was great. Service was slow and inattentive.

Our server sunny was absolutely adorable, and very accommodating. The food, however, was worse than disappointing. The shrimp and grits were doused in some kind of buffalo wings, Tabasco sauce and the grits were swimming in liquid. There was really no texture. the oysters Rockefeller were delicious although there were only four pieces and so it felt a little short.

The menu on Open Table is outdated, and the items listed were unavailable upon request. The new menu was too try-hard bougie and eliminated any basic comfort foods. The beet salad was saturated in vinegar, overpowering any other flavors in the dish. The calamari was oily, bland and soggy. Worst calamari known to mankind. The kids' Donald Duck Ceasar Salad was drenched in salty dressing and served with overcooked, unrecognizable chicken(?) and a rock solid breadstick. The halibut was highly recommended by 2 servers, but was an absolute disappointment due to its blandness and accompaniment of mushy white rice. We were not able to force ourselves to eat any of these dishes. We politely gave this feedback to the server about the food. She gave us attitude and didn't offer any suggestion of consolation. We left the establishment feeling hungry and broke. We shall not return to White Bark on future Mammoth trips.

I got a Clooney and it took literally 15 minutes for it. It took 45 minutes to get my Caesar salad. And the rest of my family still had no food. They also brought the bread, appetizers, and entrees all at once. Would not recommend.

Service was friendly and fine enough but the food truly was below average, even for a hotel restaurant.

I'm assuming all the bad reviews are for meals other than breakfast? Because we tried this place for breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised considering all the reviews we had read. The breakfast was super delicious and we love everything. I got a breakfast burrito and a latte with soy (or oat) milk and added vanilla syrup and it was 5/5 for me. We had such an incredible server as well, her name Kristel. She was super sweet and very attentive to us, considering we had a party of 8. Our food came out quickly and everything tasted straight out of the kitchen. I would definitely recommend for breakfast if you're staying at the Westin!

I read reviews before making reservation, but thought no way it could be this bad and if it was, clearly a major chain hotel restaurant would make the necessary changes to address all the bad reviews. It was as bad as everyone says, unfriendly front desk staff, understaffed throughout, mediocre airport food and ridiculous prices. To be fair once, after sitting for more than 20 minutes, our server came over, she did everything in her power to make it a good dinner, but odds were stacked against her. She apparently had more than 10 tables and kitchen was understaffed and backed up. They had only one busboy to relieve the servers, most of whom looked frazzled and ready to walk out. The funny/sad thing was a hotel manager stopped in a few times and surveyed the scene like he was proud of what was happening. My 11 year old noticed how rough it was, but he couldn't?

To start… The portions were incredible, and my waitress was superb! However, every dish left something to be desired which is disappointing given the price point.Poutine = Delicious, enormous, but the meat was far too salty even for poutineRibs - biscuits were inedible, slaw was mediocre, potato salad under seasoned, ribs were cooked to perfection but under marinated/sauced late and just blandSteak - I found both sides underwhelming/bland, however the steak was fantasticCrème Brûlée- Delicious, but the dish it was cooked in was too shallow and I found it sweeter than normalSo all in all, I’d say for the price I’d simply rather eat somewhere that leaves me wowed.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, I don’t know about contamination

Beautiful and tasty ! Appreciate this great experience in mountain. * In-room dining took a hour after ordering, call earlier before restaurant will get busy :)

We had dinner on Valentine's Day 2024 during our weeklong visit to Mammoth. Our experience was poor at every moment of the evening. When we arrived we were greeted by an empty host stand where we waited 5 minutes before being seated. When we sat down it took five minutes before our server arrived who never introduced herself. We waited a little more to get water. We ordered two cocktails, two appetizers and two entrees. 24 minutes later one of two appetizers arrived. We waited another 7 minutes for our other appetizer and drinks to arrive, both cocktails were wrong. One appetizer was good but the cooked carrots were burned, lukewarm, and inedible. After 54 minutes our entrees arrived. They were both very uninspired and this is when we were first offered bread. When we spoke to the manager to complain about the long wait and the drinks being wrong she could not have cared less but did comp the drinks. Nobody at the restaurant acknowledged that it was Valentine's day. And just to nitpick, our tabletop was old and worn needing to be sanded and refinished like the others. EVERYTHING about this restaurant seemed an afterthought. Worst service and meal that we have ever experienced. Will never return and will advise others to avoid Whitebark.
