Just had an excellent meal for three at smashburger Manhattan Beach. We ordered online, got an accurate pickup time and had a nice meal. Couldn't ask for more.

Really yummy place. Don't know why customers give them a hard time. But they had 1/2 the staff of Urban Plates and I still got my food on time, and it was delicious!

My first time at smash Burger! It came recommended, especially because they offer a gluten free bun. Thank you so much for letting me feel normal again! It was delicious, especially the smash fries!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bun

I should've paid attention to the 3 star review average. Far too many burger places that are so good / heck a shake shack is like throwing distance from here/ this is a terrible burger. Dry. Not smashed. Just a bad double 1/4 lb burger w no flavor. Only saving grace was the sauce is strong. That's why I give 2 stars. It was so disappointing I actually don't know what I would choose if I was stuck with choosing between islands or smash burger. They are frankly on par with each other ie. Wouldn't ever choose either. With heavy handed type places perfecting the smash burger genre, I would never eat or or recommend this place. Service was awesome - super friendly and they do have a soda button on the sprite fountain soda so at least I got a good fountain club soda and decent fries for $20.

Place was empty. Clean enough, except for greasy floors, you know how your shoes slide a bit. Service was very good. Fries were fresh. Worst burger I've ever had. I got the Avocado Bacon Club. Flavorless mush. The entire burger was flavorless. It had mayo and still flavorless! The avocado looked like it came out of a toothpaste tube, tasted like nothing. The burger itself seemed completely unseasoned. I could taste bacon, so I guess there's that. But seriously, we are in SoCal. Worst burger. Go elsewhere.

I'm one of the In n Out holdouts. They just don't seem that great to me. If you're like me, Smashburger makes a great burger. I will admit that I go for their special Signature Burgers--which are more of a restaurant-level execution versus slap-dash fast food. In my case, I like the Truffle Mushroom Swiss or the green-chile Colorado. Great tastes! I also get their great onion rings, which come with ranch dipping sauce. Definitely a step up.

Incredibly rude staff: couldn't even acknowledge our presence in their establishment, the young woman on the register around 5:30/6PM tonight was incredibly bothered to take our order, couldn't look us in the face, didn't welcome us in, couldn't ask us we were ready to get our order taken instead she just stared at us, couldn't say thank you and couldn't say you're welcome. When she brought our food to us and we thanked her, she couldn't be bothered to say you're welcome or acknowledge us whatsoever. We asked if French fries were included in the order and she rolled her eyes, said no, all while not even looking in our direction, seemed like she had somewhere better to be apparently. If French fries weren't included as a combo option, why were they too lazy to bring the fries in a separate dish, since we were trying to share them, instead of just picking one of our burger dishes to add them to? She was lazy and rude, period. The quality of their burgers and fries have inevitably went down, as with most burger joints, unfortunately. Maybe this location is under new management, but if not, it's time for a staff change because their attitudes don't compensate for the low quality of the food. This location has 3/5 stars for a reason, not good. The one plus to this location, is the nice patio area.

I love eating at Smashburger. However, my only disappointment is that they don't do combos like they used to in the past. I ordered a truffle burger bunless, fries, and a fountain drink. Food was great, but the fact that they no longer do combos, and that the food is a la carte, is my only disappointment. Nonetheless, service is great.
