I went here just for drinks with 2 friends before dinner elsewhere and a flight home to Sydney. I was a bit unsure what to expect, but was very impressed with the layout, the old films playing on the walls, the very knowledgeable and friendly bartender, the range of drinks on offer and the half price specials( I think on everything) from 5 to 6 pm. Would definitely go back.

Ray was fantastic, Marilyn was wonderful and we had a brief hello with David Slay which was great. Lamb Shank and the Seafood were excellent. The escargot was perfect and the butter lettuce salad was lovely, all was delicious. Chocolate dessert was an excellent ending. We will return!

Really enjoyed my meal here, starting with the French martini, oysters on the halfshell and moving to the scallops. There was too long of a pause between apps and entree, but otherwise service OK. Slay Italian has had some wait-staff issues lately so I was a bit wary, but our server was great.

We sat right by the open window and enjoyed the extraordinary service provided by Ray. The West coast oysters were scrumptious and the warm freshly baked baguette was very good. The wine, cocktail and champagne list are remarkable. A great evening dining experience and go to little speakeasy afterwards.

One server was really good one was awful. Food wasn't anything worth coming back for. Maybe part of it was it was a crazy weekend in town but they should have known that and been prepared.

Great time at Fete. We started with the hummus and pita bread and chevres and crackers. Both excellent. Our friends then had the French onion soup and the toush salad, both of which they said were excellent. They then split an order of scallops, which was also my wife's entrée. I had the duck confit a l'orange, I washed down with two bottles of a delightful rose'. Great food, excellent service and a delightful early dinner.

I'd been wanting to try Fete by Slay for a while, so when I got the email with their Bastiile Day promotion, I booked a table. We arrived on time and were given the table of our choice, by the large open window. Our servers were there immediately to take our drink orders, served us water, and went over the menu and specials with us. My son and I chose the 3-course Bastille Day special, which included a fresh baguette, Fete-toush salad, a choice of main (we both selected the hangar steak with peppercorn sauce and frites), and a peach tart for dessert. My daughter selected the scallops. The servers took the time to not my food allergies, and went over any modifications that might be necessary to accommodate my selections. The freshly baked baguette and butter was delicious, the fete-touch salad was flavorful and balanced. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, my daughter was very pleased with the preparation of the scallops. Overall, an enjoyable dining experience in this new-found local charmer. WE will be back!

Food was delicious, but we waited 30 minutes for our bottle of champagne. Found out after asking that they were getting it from another restaurant. Wish we had been told that it would take so long, as we may have ordered a cocktail to sip while we were waiting.

I love this place! Great atmosphere and great bartenders. They really know their drinks. Highly recommended if you're in the Southbay.

Service was great, everyone was very attentive and friendly, so that was great. Restaurant is pretty, has a good layout and is well located but the food was not great. We ordered three dishes to share. The beef tartare wasn't well condimented at all, no flavor. We had to ask for mustard and mix it with some cornichons to add more flavoring to it. The chicken pate was good but the toasts that came with it!!! They were sooo hard and not fresh, like if they would have been re-toasted or re-heated, so bad. Finally we order the duck, which was very tender but the whole dish had no salt!!!!! Very disappointing experience from the food perspective unfortunately.

My wife and I had dinner at Fete Bistro on a Friday evening. The restaurant wasn't too busy so the noise level was low. The French onion soup and the grape leaves were amazingly delicious. Baked kibbeh was underwhelming. It should have been warmer (and perhaps deep fried before serving). The major disappointment was the 5 hour lamb shank. While the meat was tender, it wasn't seasoned to my liking and tasted a bit on the gamey side. Our server was attentive.

Music was unbearably loud at 7pm. Felt like dining in a nightclub and it wasn't even that crowded. Not the experience I went for which was a shame bc it's a beautiful, elegant space. The music was neither of those things. My steak was undercooked and when they brought it back out, it was completely overdone. It was awful but I just sucked it up bc I didn't want to send it back again. Pretty disappointing evening.
