The service of the employees was great but the management is shady— fitting for the name of the restaurants. We got a gift card that said it could be used at happy hour explicitly. Then management decided they wouldn’t take it.
I checked in the Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach at night. I ate alone at Zinc in the hotel 1F for dinner. The man at the bar was very pleasant service. I couldn't drink, so I ordered a slice of lemon in the hot water. And I ordered Crispy Skin Norweigan Salmon. There was a risotto under the crispy grilled salmon w skin, which was a little thick, but the taste was mild and easy to eat. This dish was well served with the hot lemon water I ordered. I liked the place where I could relax alone. I'm thinking about what to eat next time.

Been to this place about8 different times, first time i made a reservation trough open table, not a place i would suggest for their service, really nice people, but service lacks so much attention to detail, everyone is so blasé about everything, very Californian of them, food was not horrible, but definitely has been better before, especially huevos rancheros, never had anything like it, very disappointed. I would recommend if you go to give it a chance, but to be ready for not such a great experience.

Food is scrumptious! From the skydeck, the smell from the restaurant downstairs is absolutely tantalizing. The service is amazing, they can bring you food and drinks to the rooftop Jacuzzi. Everyone is so kind and helpful, with phenomenal attitudes.
Kid-friendliness: They have an affordable kids menu! With crayons and activity sheet.
The in-laws flew in from Michigan, and wanted a great place to unwind and catch-up. Shade was perfect. Great food, incredible service, close to LAX, and walking distance to the ocean. Perfect. We will definitely come back.

2 Friends at brunch on Sunday and sat on the patio with reservations. Excellent server; helpful, attentive and not intrusive. Had heavos rancheros. Red sauce a bit too much and tomato-y but good. Partner had gavel and lox. Drinks. Lovely atmosphere.
