I am a 20-year customer, and I ALWAYS enjoy great food and a great wine list along with top-notch service. Please allow JC to pick an off-list bottle for you and you won't be disappointed. 10 out of 5 stars...

Nice and simple Indian spot with tasty food and cozy seating. Service is beyond welcoming. We got tandoori fish, but it was so thing, and the restaurant just made us one more portion, without even asking. It was so nice and unexpected. But great!

We planned a dinner for my fiancé’s birthday here after a strong recommendation from one of his sisters and we’re so happy we came here. We had never had proper Indian food and this place is fantastic!!! Juan Carlos, the host, provided the best service I’ve ever received! He talked us through the menu, his personal recommendations, and had the wine flowing the whole night. We had him essentially pick everything for us once we heard the options, and he steered us in the right direction, every step of the way. He even made my in laws feel welcome and included (they’re Spanish speakers and can sometimes feel out of the loop)!

The food was to die for. We had the kati rolls, chicken tikka masala, basmati rice, tandoori chicken, okra, Chilean sea bass, and lentils. I wish I took photos, but we were all so present and having such a great time and just inhaled our food.

We will definitely be returning, and I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you Juan Carlos and Akbar team!

Delicious, authentic Indian food. Post meal glow bar none - felt full and satisfied. Don’t miss the Akbari kofta. Juan Carlos is an excellent host. He knows his menu and clearly cared about our experience

The worst experience I’ve ever had in Indian restaurant.Food came late.Tandori chicken was in a sizzling platter but when I touched the chicken, it was cold not even warm.Butter chicken which we ordered never came.Sever or manager (with mustache ) he was arrogant. They served the food to those who came after us.I will never go to this restaurant again in my life.

I order one Butter Chicken andd Chicken Tikka Masala from DoorDash. Before order, I called and asked that does it come with rice, and he said it comeswith rices. After food come no rice. I called and asked why no rice, and you said it comes with rice, the person very rude and said it doe not have rice. Food is not good. All dumped. Never come to buy from this store.

Ordered Akbari lamb dinner for take out. Large portion of good food, definitely enough (and a bit more) for one person. Stable quality and friendly host. Best Indian cosine in the area by my opinion.

INCREDIBLE experience! I can't tell if I enjoyed the food or the service more. What an affordable delicious place right on the Westside. The Indian food is more delicious than anywhere I've been in Artesia. JC was knowledgeable about suggestions, pairing wines perfectly with everything we enjoyed. He made us feel like we were the only table there and the place was full! The atmosphere is quiet and quaint with plenty of room between tables. JC did a fantastic job being there when we needed and not staying too long after food was delivered. The food is remarkable, and I prefer to come here than anywhere I've been recently or even in the past. I've had such disappointment with food recently and spending an unreasonable amount for the quality. I'd pay more for this quality. Everyone there seemed to have had a similar experience when it came to service and quality of food from what we could tell.

Unfortunately I won't be coming back to Akbar due to the multiple inappropriate comments made by our server, who I think is part of the management/might be family of the owner. I dined with my friend (we are both women) and there was only one other party on the patio with us (two other women). Our server kept lurking around and making inappropriate comments to both tables. He said "I'll flirt, but don't worry - I have a girlfriend." He also said that we probably don't eat much because we're "so petit" and mentioned that his girlfriend is petit, but "petit women are feisty." We didn't engage but still he budded in on our private conversation, and asked if we were models. It's a shame because the food was delicious and the other staff was lovely but he made it an unpleasant experience.

Best Indian in LA with the friendliest owner in LA.The garlic cheese naan and chicken tikka masala can’t be beat ?Been eating here for years almost every Sunday evening but this last Sunday was life affirming. They even do a dairy free coconut masala if that’s your jam.Akbar 4 life
