Best Indian in LA with the friendliest owner in LA.The garlic cheese naan and chicken tikka masala can’t be beat ?Been eating here for years almost every Sunday evening but this last Sunday was life affirming. They even do a dairy free coconut masala if that’s your jam.Akbar 4 life

We walked to the restaueant since this place has a tiny parking lot. When we walked in, the guy at the front saying, move the car in front of the restaurant, there are two cars parked already. We said we did not bring the car. After that, no one greeted us, we just stood there waiting for seated. The owner pointed very tiny small table and say sit there. I asked " Can we sit little bigger table? He said that is for David. He has reservation at 6:30pm. It was 6:30pm and there was no resercation sign. I told him that table is too small. Then, he pointed a table right next door that too cold to sit there. The rest of the experience was unpleasant.

Akbari lamb is too salty. The paratha limp, soggy and tasteless. The bharta had too much cream instead of eggplant and not sure if that was shredded cheese on the butter chicken. Wife was very mad at me for ordering from this place. She would have given it a zero but I had to leave a star because portions were decent.

The food took 20 min longer than expected, and the lamb vindaloo was so spicy it was inedible - wouldn’t go back here!

Come for the food and wine. Nowhere better. Very tender and generous size portions of the meats used in their dishes. Their tandoori sea bass is the best seafood I have ever had and it has remained the best over the 20+ years we have visited this restaurant. Their wine list rivals the best steak restaurantes in town. We have never had a wine rated under 4.0 and the markup is very minimal. Who cares about atmosphere anyway!Overall. A foodie’s delight

Best Naan in LA, but be careful because their curries are definitely spicy!

If you like Indian food, Akbar is fantastic! The food is authentic and so delicious. The owner, Atul, is great. We eat here at least once a week, sometimes more. The chicken tikka masala is a must-have. Some of my favorite dishes are the chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka, lamb chops (and I don't even like lamb), sea bass, mint chicken kabob, coco lamb, bhartha (eggplant) and the okra. Also, the cheese naan (any of the naan, really) and the papadum are great. He also has a really great selection of wines and is very knowledgeable in that department. I highly recommend this place. It's so good!

Bomb! If you go here, make sure to get the naan. The texture is soft and fluffy and taste amazing

The hot wings are a bit too much. I enjoy spicy food , but when I tried these I legit thought I was going to die. To be sure I wasn't exaggerating I had a friend try one and he thought I was pranking him. We then gave the neighbor one and she almost passed out. We all began to drink milk for the next two hours. Not sure who made the decision to sell these wings, but have you tried one? If so, what the f***. This is some serious crap. Too hot,

This place has become a weekly go to for me. The food is amazing and the guys that work there are so nice. While I was waiting for my to go order they gave me a half a glass of wine on the house. Chicken tikka masala and the Akbari kofta are absolute musts.
