I went here yesterday with a friend for breakfast. The restaurant looks like a school canteen inside with stacked up chairs and trash bins which we didn't want to see when eating. We ordered the food at the cash register and for 2 basic breakfast's and coffee it was over $60.00. Our food arrived separately by some considerable time and when my friend's food arrived it was wrong and had to be remade. Here's the shocker all the food arrives in plastic containers (every element of mine did) patty in one, tomatoes in other and cottage cheese in another ... really good for the environment!!!!!NOT. We where given plastic knives and forks which I had to go and ask for and these tools could barely do their job (cut the food). We had to ask for a plate and was told they don't like to use them as they short of staff!!! not my problem and this young lady looked like she didn't want to be there. Plate was again plastic Three men on the table next us said all their food went soggy as in these plastic containers (no plastic plates for them) they also felt disappointed which encouraged me to write this review. SO you pay top prices for no service and sit in a basic room that lacks comfort and warmth.... I won't be going back... shame as the old location was lovely. Proper service, table, plates and cutlery. Scared for our environment and shocked

This was my first time eating here and I really enjoyed my food. The staff was very polite and friendly. I had a ground turkey, spinach, onions and tomatoes omelette, sweet potato tots and wheat toast. I will definitely be back.

I love everything about Cafe Buna - The friendly staff, the wide selection of delicious food and drinks, and the pricing (especially in the Marina). Their chocolate chai latte drink is out of this world! Reminds me of Mexican Hot Chocolate; pure Heaven. Karen and her team provide a welcoming dining experience!

Loved the original location near Lincoln. That location had a casual and intimate vibe. The food was great and the service was impeccable. Once Cafe Buna moved further down Washington the look, feel and quality changed. Please go back to your original format, it made your establishment a place I really enjoyed visiting.

We loved the old Cafe Buna for great breakfasts The new one,a block or two away, is awful. No table service, plastic containers instead of dishes, plastic utensils-could be a Macdonalds So disappointed

Used to be the go to breakfast place with a line out the door. What happened?! No servers anymore. Food came out cold which baffled me because there were only a few tables. Had to hold down foil and emptied containers to keep the wind from blowing them away. I really want to know what happened here. Quality way down. Service way down. And I had to tip at the beginning of the meal. I have 20% and then has no waiter.

What a mess. I had been here a few times, never great or terrible, but this AM I stopped in for breakfast. As always, it was just too pricey. For having to stand in line to order while yelling over the blender and eating off plastic treys it's just too expensive. Food is a little flavorless with the dryest potatoes in earth.i don't eat half my meal as the potatoes are brutal. Then when I get into the car the bottom falls out of my coffee cup. It wasn't pierced, it just gave out.Did they produce the cup? No, am I covered in coffee before work because if the cup they purchased, yea. I am. Staff is nice

Unfortunately, this place went straight downhill since they moved. It used to have a funky , fun vibe to it. Now it looks anti-septic. They used to have a lot of unique choices on the menu. Not any more. Its been streamlined, no waitstaff, and the food is served only in to-go containers. Once you put something in a to-go container, it just isn't the same as it is on a plate.

We came here because it seemed like a place we could comfortably eat outside and order simple foods that were not too bougie for our 18 monther. We came to the right place! We arrived around 10am on a Monday and ordered a cup of oatmeal and the 2-2-2 breakfast. We sat comfortably enough outside under an umbrella. There was a homeless man who came by, got some leftovers from the trash can in front of the cafe, then flung the utensils into the street while scarfing down leftover food as he walked away, but otherwise a harmless sight. The oatmeal was $7 and overpriced but it hit the spot for my toddler and me. We paired it with bananas and grapes we brought so it was perfect for what we needed. My husband said the 2-2-2 was alright/decent and he was full by the end of the meal so satisfying enough. Overall, not the most delicious place, but fairly low key and not overly crowded.

I want to love this place but I have some issues. I've gone three times in the past two months. Service is always friendly but a bit confusing. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table, but it is all packaged in to-go containers. So if you get a side of something- different container. So I ordered an egg breakfast with biscuits and gravy and fruit and it came to the table in six different boxes. They forgot my side of bacon so that came out in another box. It just seemed like a waste of plastic if I know I am going to eat there. Also, I got the same thing (I like a routine) and it was cooked differently each time. The gravy was amazing my first visit, watery and not so good my second visit. I just tried to go the other day at 10 am on a weekday and they were closed with no signs posted. I'm hoping they are working on continuity in cooking and maybe doing away with all the to-go containers on in house orders.

I came with a buddy of mine for some breakfast, and it took over an hour for them to bring my food out. Why? Because they "lost" my order. Which doesn't make sense because when I asked after 30 minutes, they said it was "almost done" and "coming out soon". Look...I know mistakes happen and the kitchen can get busy and orders can get lost. But don't LIE to me about it...or if you are, at least comp some drinks or something. What this place lacks in customer service, they also lack in flavor. The chilaquiles? Trash...dry, with NO sauce...and when i ask them for sauce, I got green sauce from some bottle that had NO spice. TRASH. Very disappointing to say the least. I would much rather go to McDonald's and get a sausage egg mcmuffin.

Cafe Buna moved from a smaller location close to Lincoln west on Washington to a location closer to the beach. They got rid of the waitstaff and just have runners now (not sure if because of Cov!d or rising rents). You have to order at the counter now. We ordered the Open Faced Omelette, Buna Omelette and 2 Buna Miels. Oone Faced Omellete is advertised as having onions peppers tomatoes and mushrooms. It barely had any vegetables was mostly egg potatoes and bacon. Would have preferred a more balanced ratio of advertised vegetables. The Buna Omelette was decent. Plantains avocado rice beans. The Buna Miel coffees were pretty tasty but there was too much cinnamon in them a little less would have been nice. The runner who brought us the food was extremely helpful polite and gregarious. Joked with us and was very attentive bring us water hot sauce and a bag for our to go items. Quality of the food has slipped a little, will give it another shot and order something else next time heard their pancakes are

Ok...so we stopped here because we like to support the small town business and are always looking for dives with really good food....this was a swing and a miss...so many things wrong IMHO. 1 this is probably the biggest downer for me...even if you are eating there your food comes in a plastic container that is not sustainable...what a waste...I saw the garbage bag replaced twice while we were there in the course of an hour...not because it was that busy...but because of the size of the containers being disposed of 2 the food was less than mediocre...I ordered waffles and chicken wings...the waffle was basic...and flavorless...the chicken wings tasted like they came out of a freezer bag you get from a bulk food place and it had freezer burn. My daughter ordered pancakes and fruit...again pancakes were just basic and flavorless...the syrup gave some flavor...but meh!...the fruit she got was old...just not good. My wife had pancakes and scrambled eggs...see the above statement...just not good...and we won't even speak about how much this cost $$$ Not sure what happened here...but the management needs to get back in touch with the patrons and improve their sustainability goals along with food quality
