For me, this is a restaurant where you should take family and family-friends. Easy valet parking, cozy location on the marina, sleek seating with maritime decor, classic (and strong) drinks, and a quiet ambience -- all make it a standout in LA, where oftentimes the quality of the food outstrips all the other aspects of the dining experience. Everything we ordered was done with care and attention. I love the building and location and fondly remember the old Charthouse, Dear Jane's is a nice successor for that space. Our main server / waitress was outstanding, friendly and very attentive. One of the servers seemed to be hiding a bad day behind his "efficiency", I don't think most people noticed.
