As long as I've been coming here, the food is consistently tasty and service consistently top notch. You can't ever go wrong with any variation of the killer shrimp whether it be the bread, the pasta or the rice, it's always delicious Since they started serving breakfast (since killer Café, closed down and turned into killer sushi) I started coming here because you can always find a place to sit and look out onto the water, which is one of my favorite things while I'm having breakfast. The basic eggs, protein, hashbrowns, and toast is always a good bet. Recently tried the eggs, Benedict and to my pleasure, very tasty. Service is always on spot. The servers are always knowledgeable of everything on the menu and are quick to make sure you have water and anything else to drink you need and get your food out quickly. Ambience is always wonderful as anywhere you said you have a view of the boats in the harbor. And they make it nice to sit in the bar and have a meal and not feel like you're sitting in the bar.

Awful service. I asked for a recommendation on a dish and the waitress suggested a paella. She said the killer paella was the spicy dish so I ordered a regular paella. The paella was watery and the shrimp wasn't deveined. And it was so spicy that that's it killed the saffron flavor. My mom ordered shrimp scampi shelled and the shrimp were hard and the shells weren't removed. I asked the waitress if she could could do anything about my dish. So she brought the manager and he refused to take the dish off my bill and he said that's how the paella is and I should know better. To top it off the electricity went out. Save yourself a trip. There are other places way better than this.

Bartender during a blackout was working on my check, the order was shrimp in a bowl peeled and two beers, it doesn't more then 10 seconds to do the math and add the tax to pay with cash, yet she decided to take 10 minutes and start serving another customer. When I brought that to her attention she did the "I'm helping you!" attitude that customers DONT deserve and the way she said it makes you feel like an a*** The so called KILLER SHRIMP in a bowl was so ugly looking for the price. Basically for $25 I got 14 shrimp, in a hot soup bowl.... and some bread. WOW, that was not worth it at all, I'll give it 3 stars for being spicy and slightly tasty but don't do that to us. Not coming back. and overpriced for service and food

We were very disappointed with the food and service. We arrived just after 5pm and the it wasn't busy. It took 10 minutes before a server came to take our drinks and appetizer order. It was another 25 before they came back for our dinner order. After 40 minutes we had to flag our waitress down to ask where our dinner was. It was finally delivered 10 min later. One dish lukewarm and the other steaming hot. We got an insincere apology from the manager blaming the kitchen. Sad part was the killer shrimp that is the easiest dish to cook was the hot dish - not a kitchen issue. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Breakfast review. Con: Enter restaurant and no staff available. I needed to walk to the back of the restaurant to ask for service. Pro: polite and quick service. Avocado toast was tasty, but toast was not very toasty and came out luke warm. Coffee is good and outside seating is enjoyable! Oh, and happy they offer killer shrimp in the morning to go!!

I give 3 stars instead of 2 because our server was really nice but when people say customer service sucks it really sucks. The hostesses had disgusting attitudes. Extremely snobby and rude they should definitely be replaced and the food is beyond mediocre. My paella was good in flavor but all the shrimp had p**** Really disgusting considering it's a 30$ dish I expect way better.

What's with the low reviews? There is only one dish to get there. The original killer shrimp bowl. I get it shelled shrimp and it rocks. I admit that in just over a year the number of shrimp in the bowl has dropped, but still delicious. Now, the bread on the other hand. Normally it tastes fresh and it's soft. This time around, pretty confident I could use it to put nails in a wall. Once you dip it does get soft and Anyway, teeth are overrated to begin with. I mean good ol George Washington had only one real tooth. Probably ate this bread before dipping it. The Coke with small ice was a winner. Not enough napkins but that's what your pants are for.

I honestly don't think anyone in this establishment cares to change anything, including the owner, who's so arrogant and pompous. Service is terrible, food is pretty disgusting and the bathrooms have been a total mess, toilets leaking for years ... So disturbing and nauseating...

Bomb bomb bomb. Love the paella!!! It is one of the best I've had in LA. I also got a half dozen oysters which had both eastern and western oysters. they were fresh and delicious. The signature shrimp dish was meh. I took it mold and it was really spicy but also nothing special. I must say the patio view is so beautiful day or night.
Really great food & atmosphere! I had the killer shrimp with rice & it was delicious! The waiters are amazing!

OK, i have eaten here 3 times and this last experience was flat out horrible. Came with family and ordered 4 killer shrimps with rice (my usual) and a kids shrimp meal. We ordered one to-go to take home. The service was terrible. I told the MOD something was off with the entrees. They had too much thyme (visible), and was extremely watered-down. I assumed there was a new chef or a bad batch. The manager did NOTHING, but made sure to be nice to my toddler Our waitress was a nice lady, but there was a verbal altercation that took place nearby and she devoted all her time to that table and forgot about our togo meal. After we put our togo meal in again, we waited and waited and waited... with a toddler. At this point we all agreed to take our food home and "doctor it up" ourselves since it was so distasteful. We finally got our togo meal, made it home and to no surprise it tasted PERFECT - just like it always does. This means the manager told the kitchen staff to get it together but did nothing to remedy our experience and tasteless food. Spent $200 and ruined my experience there... I doubt I'll be back.

Amazing! This place is legendary! I realize there are many menu options to choose from, but I can't deviate from the Killer Shrimp spicy broth - either with shrimp or adding crab and lobster. It's incredible. Dipping the French bread in that broth is where it's at. If you're lucky to be in Marina del Ray, stop by this awesome place, take in the scenery and stuff yourself full of good shellfish swimming in an unbelievable spicy broth!

Just another review at Killer Shrimp. Ordered take out over the phone at 6:38. I was told it would take 20-30 min. Arrived before 7pm. Food was not ready. At 7:38pm the I asked how long and the two young ladies responded, "we don't know". At this point I just asked for my money back. Brett the manager printed out my receipt and told me here's my full refund without even addressing the issue with me directly. I asked when the food was supposed to come out.. and he responded, "any second, they are just was finishing up with the steak." So after waiting over an hour, he chose to just give me a refund and cancel the entire order? ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE ON BRETT'S PART. I love this restaurant... but if Killer Shrimp keep dropping the ball with this zero customer service crap.. I'll just stop making that my go to restaurant period. GET BETTER with your communication KS! The one star for for horrible communication by Brett who rather send me to Ruth Chris around the corner to eat food that is not as good as Killer Shrimp's. SMH

My go-to restaurant for all occasions! Every dish on the menu is delicious. My family & I have been enjoying the "Killer Shrimp Original" for about 30 years now, back when it was a tiny hole-in-the wall, dim lit spot, whose servers were almost required to have a sleeve of tatoo's & a pair of platform Doc Martin's!! All this time later and it's still my favorite dish & restaurant! Thanks for helping us celebrate tonight!
