Killer Cafe is owned by Killer Shrimp next door, a Venice/MDR favorite. This was my first time.

Super relaxing patio on the waterfront. Dog friendly place, so lots of cute pups come with their people.

The food was good, and nice portions. Above all, the service was great. Going back again this weekend for brunch!

Unfortunately, my experience at Killer Café was disappointing. The food lacked freshness and appeared to have been sitting for an extended period before being served. Additionally, staff interactions were unprofessional, with visible disputes over table assignments. Overall, the service and quality fell short of expectations.

Potatoes, English muffin from crab Benedict and toast were all burnt. The only good thing were the pancakes, poached eggs and chorizo and eggs.

I was ready to enjoy the view at this place with the company of my lovely wife ,but guess what? It was NO SERVICE AT ALL .

Sitting outside looking the view of the marina and reading the menu ,I asked the waiter to switch tables to get a better view . I think my mistake was talking his lenguaje ,because after that we only got two glasses of water .
Nothing more nothing less .

Some gentleman coming downstairs to asked us if we need something along with some name ‘Giovanni’ will be with you guys shortly .

I don’t know how ‘shortly ‘ that can be ,because another couple arrived after us ,started getting drinks and the service right away.

WE WAISTE 45 MINUTES OF OUR DAY TRYING TO GET FOOD!!!!

If I want to switch tables in a place that is EMPTY I don’t see the issue on that . Maybe the manager should to explain to his employees the economic situation that the country is going through by not having enough costumers to afford going to a restaurant like this one that is not cheap and hardly the food equals the quality of the meal.
I been there before ?
Yes ! That’s why I came back !
That I will go again after this ?
ABSOLUTELY NO FREAKING WAY!!!

Next time I should to keep my mouth shut instead to be friendly speaking the same lenguaje that the workers . Another vibe that make me feel that me and my wife are NOT welcome because our race .

They have a free parking lot and both indoor and outdoor seating which was nice. I had the smoked salmon benedict and while it was good the service was bad, and unfortunately that's the reason for the poor rating. Dee was friendly to all of the tables around me but for some reason she wasn't to me. She greeted and talked to other tables, but not with me. One example is when she asked me if everything was ok with the food but keep walking (away) as I answered her. She repeatedly checked on other tables but wouldn't even look in my direction so that I could pay my bill. A different server came to my table to clear my plate and he brought my the bill instead. He was nice but he didn't return my credit card and I had to go find him to retrieve it.

We ate here several times whilst staying at MDR. I could not fault. Excellent customer service. Waiting staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.
We ate a full and varied range, from omelettes to Burritos and simple eggs.
If you never been here then all I will say is give it a go.

We spent a week in MDR and this was by far our favourite breakfast place and not that far off our top place to eat overall. Food is freshly prepared using quality ingredients and the staff / owners are just lovely. The breakfast burrito was my favourite.

I live very close by in MDR and have been to Killer Shrimp before so really wanted to check out their breakfast restaurant attached on the south side of the building called Killer Café. I will say that the food taste and quality is pretty good although the service was horrible. Inside is very large with a large counter area and booth seating and each booth is very large and could comfortably sit at least six people. There is also a free parking lot attached so parking is really easy.

The issue that we had was we arrived at 10:30 for a Saturday brunch. When we walked in the server said have a seat anywhere you like. So we sat in the very first booth, among many other open booths. Many servers passed by us and as well as other employees but no one came to take our drink or food order or even check in with us for over 25 minutes. Finally, the older woman working there came over and said there was a mixup in how they are assigning tables and tried to explain it away, but she didn’t even say sorry or offer any consolidation or even make the issue right. One of the other servers overheard this and came over and took our order after waiting about 30 minutes. After that they expedited the order but everything took much longer than it should have. Also, pricing is more expensive here because you are paying for proximity to the water. However, the food quality is not to par with what they charge.

I started off with a slice of the Cinnamon Roll Cake and it felt much more like a piece of cake versus a traditional cinnamon roll. It was pretty dense so I would not recommend or order it again. For my breakfast I chose the Killer Shrimp Benedict, which I enjoyed for the most part although my eggs were a bit overcooked and the few pieces of shrimp just really did not fill me up.

Overall, I would give this place another try to see if the service was a one time issue given how close it is to where I live. I will say that it is not my favorite breakfast restaurant in the area, but I am going to give it a one more try in the future to see if I just got unlucky during my visit.

Great quality for the price! Staff is exceptionally attentive and pleasant. After spending some time away I’m happy to see this place reopened. I appreciated the M-F, 7-830a, breakfast special, which was a great deal for this neighborhood.

Killer Cafe is a funky, vibrant cafe tucked inside a trendy little corner of Venice. The avocado toast is great, but what really makes this place stand out is their turmeric lattes—they’re the perfect balance of spicy and creamy. They’ve got a great vibe here with colorful artwork on the walls. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the coffee beans they’re using. A fun place for a breakfast or brunch date

It was my first time visiting Killer Cafe and I must say, it is a great restaurant. We sat outside for the view and atmosphere. Something about fresh air, great food, and wonderful drinks that brings the complete dining experience together. I recommend Killer Cafe as an ultimate breakfast experience.
