As we walked in there was no hostess and all the bartenders saw us but turned the other way. We waited but it looked completely empty so we were a bit confused whether or not they were open. They could have said, "welcome, someone will be with you shortly".My friend had to walk up and ask if we find a spot or wait for someone. They said we need to wait for a hostess (not friendly at all). The hostess was nice and so was our waiter, THANKFULLY. I gave 4 stars for the lack of welcoming and because I felt like it was hard to pick something I thought would be good. Food was average, nothing too exciting from what we ordered.

Planta has some of the best food in LA, but be prepared to spend some serious money here (~$50 per person). Love this place! Waaaaay overpriced though

We were there for happy hour and the place was deserted. Sunset on the marina and there are no window coverings to shield from the harsh sunlight streaming directly in. Also, food was delicious, service: excellent, atmosphere: attractive but the place could use a good cleaning and freshening up as it is starting to look a little shabby and worn.

The food used to be excellent! Now, it was just okay. I've been coming here since they opened so I know it can be great but it wasn't on Friday. They changed the menu and no longer have the pasta/mushroom dish I used to love. The new pasta/mushroom item was not good. The broccoli is usually amazing but the Thai spicy sauce was wet, not hardened on the broccoli, which is the way I used to enjoy it. I also used to love the Tres Leche cake -- but it wasn't good this time. However, the quacamole was very good.

Bang bang broccoli, the dragon roll, and queso fundido are part of our usual order and didn't dissapoint. Tried the lettuce wraps this time around and they were delicious too. Finished off dinner with the horchata cheesecake. Yum!

So good! I'm not a fan of unagi (I'm not vegan) OR eggplant but somehow LOVED their vegan unagi eggplant nigiri with miso truffle.

As a lifelong plant-based eater, I’m always excited to find restaurants that truly understand how to create satisfying vegan cuisine, and Planta Cocina absolutely delivers.

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner here and were impressed by the creativity and flavor of every dish.

We started with the Chicken Fried Mushrooms, which were well seasoned and had an incredible crispy coating. The mushrooms themselves were exactly what you want in a great appetizer.

For mains, we shared the cauliflower wings along with the Al Pastor bowl adding the blackened tofu for protein. The cauliflower wings had tender texture with bold flavors, while the Al Pastor bowl with the blackened tofu was well prepared with a mix of spices that made every bite exciting.

Their mocktail offering is also worth highlighting - we sampled the Cosmic Colada which is a must-try if you enjoy tropical flavors, especially pineapple. It was refreshing.

The service was excellent and the atmosphere welcoming. It’s clear the kitchen understands how to build layers of flavor and create dishes that are satisfying and healthy for you. For fellow plant-based diners or anyone curious about vegan cuisine, this place showcases what’s possible when creativity meets quality ingredients. Definitely planning our next visit soon.

Planta Cocina is an easy 5/5 experience! From start to finish, everything impressed me. The service was top-notch — servers were warm, attentive, and knew the menu so well that ordering felt effortless. Each dish came out with stunning presentation and, more importantly, delivered on flavor and creativity. Nothing felt ordinary — everything had a unique twist that made the meal memorable.

The ambience is phenomenal — cozy, vibrant, and welcoming for all kinds of diners. Bonus points: the place is toddler- and PWD-friendly, and parking was stress-free with convenient paid spaces nearby.

If you’re curious about vegan dining that’s delicious, elevated, and far from boring, this spot should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended to fellow Google Local Guides and food lovers alike!

The food was delicious and the view of the Marina in the outdoor patio really lovely. We shared the lettuce wraps, the kale salad and the broccoli and everything was very tasty. It was a very pleasant experience overall.

I am not a vegan or vegetarian person but I love this place. The atmosphere is so nice and peaceful, the patio has a great view to the marine, and the food is excellent you won't miss the meat!

It's a beautiful place 20 mins from LAX airport.
**Parking tip : Use the public parking just across the street. It's much cheaper.
Vegan restaurant, friendly staff, and tasty cuisine. It's pretty famous in Venice area. Locals recommend it for vegetarians and vegans. Loved mushroom wrap and dragon roll. Matcha colada was refreshing too!
