This review is long overdue! This location has been one of our family's favorites for many years...came weekly...the food and management was always great! Sadly, since Covid, it has gone way, way down in quality and service. Microscopic sides in teeny tiny plastic cups, everything lacks salt and very inconsistent cooking. The old staff and especially the cooks were dedicated and professional. We have pretty much stopped coming...so sad remembering how it used to be!

I wish they used healthier ingredients. They cook their food in cheap seed oils, which cause painful bloat and gut inflammation.

I traveled to the area for work for a few weeks from Texas. I am originally from San Diego and have fond memories of going to Rubio's as a kid for fish tacos. Took a leisurely drive thru Santa Monica and swung by this location on my way back to the hotel. Location was not busy at all, I was able to find a parking space in the underground garage pretty easily. The location was pretty clean for a fast food restaurant. I did use the restroom which was in decent shape, probably due to the key code on the door that you have to get access to by having staff open it up for you. I think they were having an issue with one of the drink coolers as there was a very loud buzzing noise in the dining area, but no worries, because you can't really eat inside anyway when the weather is this nice!!! Patio weather for sure!Parking: Some ground level parking, some lower level garage parking.

While staying in the area we were yearning for some fish tacos for lunch and checked the interwebs for reviews and found Rubio’s. Since we’re from the East Coast we’ve never heard of Rubio’s and weren’t familiar with it being a chain. After trying it, I wish we had them back east, they’re great! Such an interesting, fun menu for a fast food joint… especially to offer fresh, grilled fish! We loved the salsa bar too!!The Ancho Shrimp Burrito was excellent, offerings fresh shrimp and great smokey flavors – yummmm!!!Service was excellent too!!Definitely enjoyed our visit and will go again!

Ordered a burrito for delivery and it was probably the most mediocre burrito I've ever had. It lacked any type of flavor or spice (and I don't mean spicy, just seasoning). I honestly don't know how there are so many positive reviews.

They messed up my to go order ... I don't think the manager had the skills to solve a problem... She had my order on the counter and started to get my stuff out of the bag then handed to me.. I went to my car and she followed me saying she forget to get something else from the bag... When I got to the place I was working on i realized I was missing 2 tacos so I went back she told me she was sorry "I forgot my tacos" ......I just have a refund and never going back.. will never recommend it

Teth & Genesis were absolutely amazing!Teth helped with our food and he and Genesis were so kind. The manager Manuel was also gracious as well as Fernando, who prepared the food. Fernando didn’t even have an attitude when he had to redo the food due to a mistake with the kid's meal. Definitely will be back, especially after our terrible experience with the Indian Oven across the street. Please never go there for Indian food! If only we had gone to Rubio's earlier. Oh well. If you're in the area looking for great customer service and quality food, stop by Rubio's Coastal Grill on Lincoln in Marina Del Rey.
