Overall Salt was a good experience, the ambiance and layout was nice on the marina. We liked the menu options which had tons of great seafood dishes including a fantastic lobster bisque soup and fresh ahi tuna poke. Where our experience fell quite short was in the wine and drinks side of things. It was very disappointing to see multiple types of $10 bottles of St. Michelle on the menu for $50+ and then $300+ bottles of Opus One. Really weird and poor selections that really need some better thoughtfulness and much better selection and price. We either had to pick cheap terrible wine at an exorbitant price or really high quality wine at an outrageous price so we simply chose no wine as a result. If you can fix that I think the overall experience and value would continue to improve.

Food and service were great and it is a beautiful location! My only issue is being required to pay $10 to valet park. I used the Tesla charger to charge my car while dining, and walked out to move my car once it was all charged and was told I could keep my car in the current spot in the (empty) parking lot but needed to pay the Valet $10 to do so. I agreed but asked to pay on my way out (I did not bring my purse with me to move my car so didn't have cash) - they told me I could not, and needed to go back inside the restaurant, come back out front and pay first. By the time it was sorted out my food was cold. Killed my experience a bit.

The swordfish dish is done in a way that one can hardly taste the fish. All of its natural elements are hidden by all the sauces. Very disappointing. But this may be my fault, if I did not notice all the heavy sauce and the hummus all around. Not the best way to serve this fish, and if I had seen that info, I would have orderd the seared ahi tuna. Doubt I will come back, because its far from me, and the dining was underwhelming, really.

I have dined at SALT quite a bit over the years and last night was by far the worst dining experience. The service was atrocious and it seemed like the waiter did not want to be there. It was awful!

Booked for a set meal brunch experience. 4/5 courses plus a couple of cocktails. Seemed great value at $56. When we were seated we were handed a standard a la carte menu. We asked where was the set brunch menu and were told they werent doing it, only a la carte. The 2 cocktails alone would have cost $32. No apologies or other option even though I pointed out that they were still taking bookings for rhe set brunch that day online. We still ate standard breakfast food and had a coffee. What we ate was good, but not the lomg lazy brunch experience we were expecting. Very disappointed and bordering on a con to get you in the door.

Purchased the seafood tower, and the crab legs were very salty. The lobster was very rubbery, but the oysters and shrimp were delicious. The swordfish was not good at all. The crispy Brussel sprouts were a bit too charred.

Came here to bid good luck and see you soon to some friends who are moving out of state. Can't beat the view at dusk : boats bobbing, sun setting and harbor seals barking! The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining, some nights with live music entertainment, happy hour for those who need to unwind. Our group of 12 has reservations and we're were seated quickly even as some were still arriving. Valet parking available, there did not seem to be any public parking but we managed to snag empty spots with no problem. Friendly and helpful waiter Benny, suggested upgrading the lam chop appetizers from three to six more to share. Appetizers : solid 8/10. Lamb chop lollipops served with frisée on tatziki, Spicy meatballs in marinara sauce, crispy calamari, and some complementary buttered toast. A very nice Pinot noir called Meiomi was great accompaniment. I got as a meal the crab cake and a side of crispy roasted Brussels sprouts. The crab cake was adequate but it was too finely processed or maybe from frozen : 5/10. I did see a nearby table order the seafood tower and that looked impressive enough. Filet mignon served as requested by other diners : medium rare, they seemed to enjoy this. jidori chicken and PEI mussels in white wine also were served to others who had no complaints. Chef Gerree came out to greet us and very generously sent out desserts to share. Two of us had February birthdays but we both had candles to blow out ! I thought that was very sweet: Basque cheesecake: 10/10 Coffee chocolate mousse: 10/10 Mini almond muffins were both crunchy and moist: 15/10 : I could eat a whole dozen they were delectable. Good for out of town guests to experience.

Salt is a must visit restaurant. The outdoor seating overlooking the marina next to a warm fire was absolutely beautiful! Chef Gary created an amazing experience, hand delivering his delicious avocado hummus and seafood platter. All the flavors were perfection. The service, the ambiance and food are all the perfect night out. We will absolutely be back!!Vegetarian options: The avacado hummus and bread pudding were delicious!!Dietary restrictions: The chef made sure to ask about dietary restrictions before creating our amazing meal. So considerate to ask this at the start of our meal.

Salt is wonderful! The food is delicious! We started with the avocado hummus with veggies and bread and the seafood tower. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The sauces and flavors were spot on. Chef Gary is a pro and his food is amazing. Not to mention the ambiance sea side at the marina with a warm fire place and while taking the views were perfect for our full experience! All of this with excellence in service. We even got a visit from the chef who delivered our food to us. A must visit spot! We will be back!'

Came here with my family including grandkids for my birthday. Was perfect from the delicious food Excellent service great table. What a wonderful place even though they were busy on St. Patrick's day. We were very happy with our darling beautiful young server she was great. Bad me forgot her name.

Food was very good! Ambiance-waterview seating, but the service was absolutely terrible. t was a business lunch, and I felt quite disappointed and embarrassed. I thought this would be an upscale venue to invite an out-of-town client, but the service reflects why Los Angeles has such a horrible reputation. When you walk over to the lobby, you'll see a sign for Salt that advises enter on the other side, a little odd, but no big deal. I walk up and a hostess is standing at the front. As I approach, I notice a hostess standing in the front. She asked, "Are you Terri?" I responded yes, "Is my party all here?" she said yes and pointed around the corner, not walking me to the table. I only see one guest, and it is someone I have never met in person. I do not see my partner. I return to her and inquire where they are; she takes a few steps and gestures to a table with one guest. Doesn't walk me to the table, and I'm not sure why she said my party was here when there was only one guest. She never walked me to the table, just pointed. We've all been chatting at the table for at least five minutes, and there's no server. Finally, our server comes over in jeans and a low-cut t-shirt, very loud and unprofessional, and asks about beverages, attempting to persuade us to order alcohol, wine, or cocktails; we reply we are working, and she jokes maybe it will make the meeting more exciting, really? Another guest sits behind us at a table, all by himself. He is there for at least five minutes before our waitress yells to him across our table, "Is anyone helping you?" He responds no, and she goes over there. It was so rude to yell over our table to question him, especially at that volume. On her way back after obtaining his order, she walks behind me and says loudly, "Your jacket is on the floor," (it was hanging behind the back of my chair) which shocked me. She doesn't offer to pick it up, and we all look at each other in disbelief. If this restaurant is attempting to be even remotely posh, it fails miserably. So disappointing, because the food was excellent.
