Stopped by for a burger and a quick pitcher of suds with friends. It was a pre-party of sorts, as we were headed to the Bowl for a crazy line-up that included DJ Shadow, Dilated Peoples, and Jurassic.
This place has potential. The issue is you can't be a sports bar with $9 beers. It's not a thing but I think the new bar manager is on top of his game and is implementing drink specials soon. The food is simple bar food with simple options. This wouldn't be a destination to get food but a place that while you're hanging out to eventually order food.
The yellow door at Washington Ale House is like walking into a pub in the 1800's served by a smiling bar keep with his back ground silhouetted by smart tv's playing all 21st century sporting events.
