It's very windy and cold. Grill oysters were very tasty. Seeded bread was pretty good!
Always an amazing time at Hog Island. Great food, service, and views 🌊🦪💙
Great stop on hwy 1 drive in the town.of Marshall. We popped in here for a lunch and we're really glad we did. The service, atmosphere, view and food were all excellent. We had the bourbon grilled oysters, raw oysters and ceviche, everything had good flavor and tasted fresh, the jalapeno mignonette with the raw oysters was just the right amount of spicy! I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area or driving down hwy#1.
Our morning at Hog Island Oyster Company was amazing. It is a quintessential Northern California experience—fresh seafood, salty sea air, and a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.
Walking in we were greeted by wooden picnic tables overlooking the water and fishing boats bobbing in the bay.
We did the classic farm tour. Our host was Marlon and he was highly knowledgeable and informative. We seen an array of oysters—Sweetwaters, Kumamotos, and Pacifics, plucked straight from the waters in front of us.
After the tour we stayed for lunch. This was truly a treat. As we ate the Fog drifted over glimpses of the bay through clusters of cypress trees.
We ordered a mix, paired with their signature mignonette and a glass of crisp rose wine and a cold local NA beer.
We ordered the halibut ceviche, smoked oysters and a dozen Sweetwater oysters. Absolutely amazing.
I highly recommend
Fun & informative tour, and great oysters!
A special day for us all
First time visiting the farm in Marshall. We had a delicious lunch! The raw and bbq oysters were fantastic. I loved the outside casual seating and would definitely come here again. The folks that work here are all kind and helpful, too.
I really respect this business and try to get Hog Island Oysters whenever I can!
The oysters were delicious! Very fresh. We also shared a wedge salad and the produce was also very fresh! Gorgeous location to. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
It was a last minute walk-in, only a 5 mins wait. Service was fast excellent, food of course was delicious. We never had much time to fully sit and try more but we ate at two of the there other restaurants, locally. 😋 and I purchased way too much.
ANOTHER GREAT LOCATION FOR PURCHASING FRESH OYSTERS TO TAKE HOME...DON'T FORGET YOUR ICE CHEST...TOMALAS BAY IS OUR FAVORITE LOCATION...

Delicious oysters and very friendly service! Highly recommended!
We didn't have the best experience during our November visit.
We pulled up on a Friday morning and parked (one of the staff helped us parallel park since some cars drive pretty fast around the bends, nice of him).
We checked in with our host who brought us to our table and we sat at the tables with a view of the water. It's really a gorgeous space and that alone makes the visit somewhat worth it. Not too crowded, there were a good amount of empty tables.
We were seated for about 10 minutes before we saw our waiter. We kept looking around confused because we'd been sitting for a while and we're starving, and saw she was chatting with one of the tables next to us. Totally fine. She eventually comes over and takes our order. Our food comes out in waves and we're ecstatic! Cod dip and fresh oysters were delicious.
The waiter checks in one more time and a few minutes later we want to order more. She never comes around. Maybe the pace of service is a slower and more laid back here but we just decided to ask for our check and leave. Again our waiter is nowhere to be seen. We decided to just pay at the front, and saw another party doing the same thing.
Overall food and location were great but the service did rain on our parade somewhat.
You'll spend a pretty penny but you'll have some of the best oysters available in the Bay Area.
It's an experience. Where else are you going to get to eat oysters grown and processed just beyond the table you're eating at? We ordered the BBQ oysters, six regular, a wedge, and ceviche. All were insanely fresh and paired well with our glass of wine. The day was beautiful and the scenery was amazing. No phone service so make sure you've got a ride home and good company!
Jessie in the retail store is great!
The waitresses are also very friendly. The BBQ oysters with the chipotle butter, were to die for. Came back 2 days later, bought a dozen oysters, and a jar of the chipotle butter. Took them back to our camp in Doran Beach and BBQed them again. We were the envy of all who saw our meal. Sorry no photo, was to busy eating. This is view from our camp site as we were preparing our oysters
