This used to be my favorite spot in Martinez. I met my wife here. Over the years the service has gone downhill. They remodeled it to accommodate for more traffic, but it ruined the atmosphere. Prices keep going up. I often like to order ahead for a quick pick up. 80% of the time they “ miss my order” or claim the “order just came in”. Today I ordered at 8:02 and finally got my food at 8:42. It wasn’t busy when I arrived. I don’t care how good the food is, I’m never supporting this business again.

Edit: I reached out to Barrelista on instagram back in February and they were unresponsive.

I finally decided to post this review after countless occasions of my order ahead not being worked on until I actually show up. If this was a singular occurrence - fine everyone makes mistakes - but this systemic.

Don’t offer the ability to order ahead if you can’t support it.

This coffee shop has all the right vibes. This is where the locals go because it's truly that consistent of an experience.

no prices display anywhere. looked like a fool asking the price for 3 different things. And my lattes were boiling hot

Lovely little shop with a variety of drinks and things to nibble on. Good atmosphere and friendly staff definitely a place to rest up at with a nice iced or hot drink ^^

Visited Barrelista on Mother's Day. We ordered 2-iced coffees 1-salmon bagel 1-panino Florentino w/ pesto tomato egg whites nothing special. Totaled $49 dollars! This place is way overpriced the prices aren't even on the menu the panini was burnt. I do not recommend this place at all this place it seems super shady with not one item priced on their menu?? Starbucks is on the next block, go there! More affordable price points and the food is at least descent.

No not fake actually. You should really do better business rather than trying to say our review is fake.

Deliciouse coffee and super close to the Amtrak station. Stopped by while i was waiting for a train connection. Had a perfect oatmilk latte . They also have toasts the can alter to make vegan . Very nice people working there !

Decently cute Portlandish coffee shop, with actually good coffee, mid food, marred by a few issues with service and the vibe.

First, no greeting or kindness. After ordering, I realized that none of the tables were being cleared or cleaned. Dirty tables kill the vibe, so I picked a less convenient spot to sit. There was no WiFi too, but no biggie. Then, a homeless dude who was chilling inside for a while grabs the largest 6 person table and starts rambling threats. I appreciate the staff showing kindness in the rain, but they don’t need to let someone cause a disturbance and occupy your cafe’s largest table. (To top it off, the homeless guy later steals from the shop.)

When leaving, there’s no thank you, come back, or appreciation. Also, please put prices on the food menu?!

It was quick, cute, cozy. And they even filled up my reusable water bottle. Also there was a group of men hanging out inside having coffee, one of them had a dog. It was adorable 😍. Its a whole vibe to go have coffee on a Saturday morning with your friends I ordered a chai latte with almond milk and honey, and a breakfast panini it was the bacon one yumm. Spent somewhere around 20$

Want the real deal? There is no other one place that will pour you the greatest espresso or rye whisky you’ve ever had under one roof. Staff here is the bee’s knees always make the best recommendations and best drinks not even if exaggerating

Food was so good, holy crap. I look forward to coming back for the Felicia wakin bacon panini (in the photo, it's actually on sour dough because they ran out of panini bread but may I say, it was so good. The quality of bread that sour dough was. Egg fried hard with crispy edges, the sauce had a small spicy kick, there was a perfect amount of Cheddar cheese that was completely melted like a proper sandwich with melted cheese aught to be. Freaking delicious. Oh yes, another star of the freaking show was the Avocado toast on multi grain bread (because they ran out of sour dough, probably from making it the two wakin bacons lol) anyway, it was loaded, perfectly just uber yummy with freshness, care and felt so good to consume. They were both so good. Seriously, it's one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Truly incredible in taking you for a wonderful mouth journey of texture and flavor. Do yourself a flavor and stop by here already. They're great!

Probably the best avocado toast I've ever had! All made in house too! And the coffee is really smooth for just a regular black coffee. Impressive!

I got the macadamia cinnamon latte with an almond croissant. Both were equally delicious and the service was superb! Young lady at the front was super friendly and conscious of the temperature of my latte (since I believe macadamia nut milk runs a bit cold even after being warmed up). Throughly enjoyed my visit here, the vibe and the tasty treats! Will be coming back
