“We visited the California Magic Club today and it was honestly one of the best experiences we’ve had in the Bay Area. This place is on another level. Every magician we encountered was incredibly talented, but what stood out even more was how engaging and attentive they were with everyone—adults and kids alike.

The table-side magic was absolutely mind-blowing. Seeing that level of skill up close makes the experience feel personal and unforgettable. The staff were amazing as well—welcoming, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do.

What really makes this place special is that it’s not just about entertainment—they truly promote the culture of magic and are actively keeping it alive. You can feel that passion in every performance.

“I had pleasant lunch experience at Roxx on Main. The crab sandwich melt was delicious and loved the Crème brûlée dessert. The service was excellent and liked friendly and family environment. I highly recommend this place.”

“Amazing as always! This place delivers consistently excellent sushi—super fresh, and just look at the picture to see how thick their sashimi cuts are. It’s not only fresh, it’s truly a great value.

I ordered four pieces of sashimi, the katsu curry with an add-on of California roll for an additional of $5, and it all even came with a salad. The pork in the katsu curry was juicy with two thick, satisfying slices.

Not to mention they gave me free tea. So generous.

Service was outstanding—the true definition of great customer care. The ambiance is cozy, welcoming, and very clean. Highly recommend!

“I look forward to every trip I make to the East Bay and especially the mornings, when I drive just down the road to this old school donut shop. They make donuts the way I use to like them as a child over 50 years ago. I especially love the apple fritters and the breakfast sandwiches, but all the donuts are great! If you remember the donuts of long ago, long before the Krispy Kreme and other modern gourmet donut nonsense, then give Alhambra Donuts a try!”

“About the best thing in Martinez.. not counting the Glorious Gals of Hilda's Pleasure-O-Rama out on Hardback Ave is the soon to be world famous Lucia's Craft Sandwiches! I was in Martinez dropping off the Spindler's Rotomiser for my 48 Pearson Applehorn to the boys over at the Monkey Ass Garage because they claimed they could realign the wobbler shaft without tearing it up. Well, I had some time to kill so I went straight to Lucia's Craft Sandwiches and had some pretty spectacular sandwiches.

Only thing I don't like about this place as well as domino's is that the charge card reader forces you to pay a tip or decline it. You need to ask your employer for more money as the cashier if you need tips. I always thought tips where for waiters and not take out food places. Pretty soon McDonald's and even safeway will include this forced option.”

Zula’s is a purely family-run operation that moved to their current location from Market and Main. They rock! The “Avo-I-Am” is just an incredible sandwich. Give Zula’s a try and feel free to put them up against them to any other sandwich in town… there is no comparison. You won’t be disappointed! Enjoy!”

“Always a fun time, if you havent tried it its worth a stop. Coffee shop by day, bar evenings thurs-sun. They have an awesome Happy hour on thursdays at the time of review (5$ beer, 7$ mixed drink if I recall right?). If I do get a mixed drink, this is the place to get it. Pictured is the egg white sour. They do breakfast, but not dinner foods durinb bar service. Also, as a plus, they usually don't have live music, so you can actually hear the other person you're talking to.”

“This place was a nice stop. It wasn’t busy when we came in, so we got our food pretty quickly. I ordered the BBQ chicken and short ribs, and my wife got the salmon poke bowl. She really enjoyed the poke bowl—lots of protein, and they didn’t skimp on the toppings at all.

My dish was also good. The short ribs were a little chewy, and the chicken could’ve had a bit more flavor, but if you’re really hungry like I was, it definitely hits the spot. It’s definitely quantity over quality, but still worth it.

We also tried the spam musubi, which was good, though the sauce was more drizzled on the rice instead of coating the spam. Overall, it was a good experience and we will definitely return!”

“Great deli / cafe attached to a catering business. Sandwiches are outstanding. Meat piled high and very fresh vegetables. Roll was soft and light, also.

The deli operation closes at 2:00 pm daily and is closed on weekends. But in-between that, you can get a great sandwich here .

They have housemade salads of all types, incl pasta etc. I didn't try them but will - they all looked great

And, it is one of the few places to sit down and eat around here that doesn't try to shake a tip out of you at the cash register before even trying the food.

“Hanabi has been a staple for me for the past 25 years. I've seen it change hands, change chefs, and change menus several times over the years. The new owners have brightened it up and offered some additional menu items. However, the hot night and the heart attack rolls still reign supreme for me.”
