“An Amtrak layover for me. First time in this city. A lady at the Chamber of Commerce recommended it to me. Walking distance from the train station. I had the large Gyros. The meat was seasoned wonderfully. Yet, that beautiful meat taste was overcome by excessive lettuce. Thereby, not having as much meat as other places. When I go back I will take off the majority of the lettuce, but I still take issue with the lack of a good quantity of meat. The first picture is after I cut it in half. Another patron had the Greek fries which looked wonderful. I will go back and try them with another dish, but as far as the Gyros, not enough meat for the price. But let me state clearly...what meat was present was absolutely wonderfully tasty.“

“This is great place to enjoy a very good lunch special. I have only been here for lunch, so this review is based on my experiences during lunch time. Food: 5/5 Every time I have been here the food has been excellent. The portions are huge, everything is hot and fresh tasting, the sauces are great and I love the flavor and spice of the hot and sour soup. During the lunch special, it includes a good amount of food for a very reasonable price. I usually get the Kung Pao Chicken. It includes one entreé, rice (white or fried is included, or brown for $2 extra) 2 wonton chip, as well as hot and sour soup or wonton soup. The chicken is always very good and the veggies are always perfectly cooked. All that food for only 12 dollars! Service: 5/5 Every time we have been here we are seated quickly. In fact everything is very fast. Our food came out about 5 minutes after ordering and our server was ready to take our order within 2-5 minutes of sitting down. (But, they don't rush you. You have as much time as you need to look at the menu.) Ambiance/Space: 4/5 The ambiance is good, it's not anything extremely special, but it's comfortable. The restaurant is actually a pretty good size as well. They have 2 dining room areas, one of which has a bar (The room with the bar is usually closed during lunch). They also have a couple small tables on a small patio outside for nice days. Parking: 4/5 There is ample parking right in front of the restaurant. The only reason it is 4/5 is because this is a city parking lot and you have to pay to get a parking permit. Although it is very cheap. We paid like $1.50 for almost 2.5 hours! I'm sure it's very good for dinner as well. This is definitely a great little gem if you're wanting to explore the antique shops and the surrounding area in the nice little downtown of Martinez. After we eat here we usually like to check out the antique shop called Antique Corner right across the street. I will posting a review about them as well.“

“We came to Whiskey Lane for the first time to watch theSuper Bowl and were lucky enough to get two open seats. The staff were truly kind, energetic and generous; and even thanked us for coming. They offered a complementary barbecue, Bacardi rum shots and a raffle, where pretty much everyone won something (shirts and hats). There were several large screen TV's, so it was a bit difficult to hear the game, even with max volume. Regardless, we had so much fun watching two closely matched, top notch, competitive teams; along with rowdy songs and cheers from the crowd. It could not have been more perfect (minus the last few seconds of the game). Thank you, Whiskey Lane - you are totally awesome and you made us feel so welcome!“

“We dropped into Baxter's randomly last night and we're lucky enough to be seated in the speakeasy. This was a side room of the restaurant but also a world away! The atmosphere was amazing, plush, comfortable and yet sleek with a bit of a club feel. Then the food! Not only was it beautiful in presentation but absolutely delicious. My husband had the lamb and practically licked the plate clean he loved it so much. The scallops were also amazing and not over sauced. Both came with mashed potatoes and veggies which at most restaurants aren't that great, Baxter's however made these side dishes equally fresh and appealing. Their bartender knew what he was doing and made some great martinis as well. Overall it was an excellent experience, highly recommended! Usually I'd have to go to SF to get this kind of service, food and atmosphere.“

When you see the place from a street, it is not the first choice to swing by, yet when you peek through the window, you'll see an open kitchen with food being cooked nonstop, a hood sign.Inside the place seems a bit crowded, yet you could probably squeeze 8n at the bar if you ask nicely even if you don't have reservation :)And now the food, fantastic italian cusine - the pasta is appropriately aldente, tomato sauce is fantastic, the beef carpaccio blows you away. And in the end you feel guilty if you miss the dessert.I would definitely recommend making a reservation and arrive hungry.Parking in a garage nearby is plenty.“

Third, once you come into the restaurant, (you may have to wait in a line) the hostess will ask you for your name and phone number, if you want to be seated outside or inside, and how long the wait time is (about 20 minutes). Lastly, you should definitely consider coming to Jack's if you're feeling hungry! (They serve breakfast until 2:00pm and lunch all day.) PS you HAVE to try the Mac and cheese!Vegetarian options: You could get the omelet (which is very good) if you are looking for something that is for vegetarians.Kid-friendliness: The hostess would ask you if you want a kid(s) menus. “We had a great night on our dinner date. I highly recommend this spot if you are in the mood for Peruvian food. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She brought out two samples of wine for me to try and waited until I made my decision. I appreciated this. I would recommend if it’s your first time, the Empanada Sampler of all 4. I would have naturally leaned towards the Cheese with Avocado sauce or the Vegetarian but to my surprise loved the Beef with Rocoto Aioli best. For dinner I had the Organic Quinoa Chopped Salad with chicken. It has romaine, radish, green beans, tomatoes, onions, corn, cilantro, avocado, lime vinaigrette and I loved it! I will be back just for this salad. The flavors were light and the chicken was perfect. It didn’t feel like too much which left room for dessert. My partner had the Shredded Chicken Stew, with slow cooked chicken breast simmered in a mild yellow pepper sauce, with hard boiled egg, Peruvian olive, walnuts and parmesan cheese, served with rice. He liked it and felt it was an authentic dish but would probably try something different next time. Dessert, the bread pudding was wonderful. Pineapple and coconut served with bourbon caramel sauce and whipped cream. If you enjoy these flavors I would recommend this! We will definitely be back!“

“I recently dined at the Walnut Creek Yacht Club and came away with mixed feelings. On the plus side, the food is always well-prepared, a testament to the kitchen's consistency and skill. The Chelsea Gem oysters were a standout, arriving at the table perfect in every way and setting a high bar for the rest of the meal. However, not all dishes reached this level of excellence. The halibut with citrus butter, while very good, didn't quite live up to expectations, lacking a certain special touch that would make it memorable. Similarly, the clam pasta fell short of the mark. It was quite bland and suffered from an overabundance of butter, overshadowing the clams themselves. In summary, while there are definite highlights like the impeccable Chelsea Gem oysters, some offerings could benefit from a bit more inspiration and balance. The Walnut Creek Yacht Club has the potential for greatness, but a little more attention to the flavor profiles of some dishes would go a long way.3.5 stars.“

I recommend sitting inside unless it's a very nice day.The food there is great, and the staff are very friendly.Top recommendations:- L.E.S.: this is the best pastrami I've had outside of a famed Jewish deli, and even then it is a contender. Truly a perfect sandwich that I could never get tired of enjoying.- duck banh mi: not really a banh mi, but it is a delicious sandwich with duck and pickled vegetables.- Spicy lamb burger: this thing is HOT, and in the best way. My scalp was sweating by the end , and it is delicious if you're into lamb. Would make great meatballs (hint to the menu makers hehe). They have decent wines, a good beer selection, and a nice bar with classic cocktails and great whiskey options...
