Village is a neighborhood bar with strong “the world is your oyster” energy. It’s a young-ish place where the drinks, food and vibes are flowing and delicious, and all of life’s possibilities seem within reach. The staff is great, and the special music program adds to the chill atmosphere. The food hits the spot—guests have loved the olives, ham and jam tartine, queso fundido, potato chips, orange wine, and salted chocolate chip cookie. On pop-up nights, the Polish mushroom cabbage rolls and potato pierogis were devoured, and the tinned octopus, dolmas, flatbread, and beet and mashed potato dish (skordalia) were highlights. There are some gluten free and dairy free options, including a gluten free halva pistachio chocolate chip cookie. The tea from the regular menu is probably the best tea ever—so fragrant and high quality, like the Mt. Tamalpais blend. It’s a cute and comfortable patio in the back to visit with friends, with coffee, tea, wine, and a very small selection of beer. Food is good, but more for snacking than dinner.
