“This restaurant is a gem. If you sit by a window in the bar or dining area, you'll have an lovely view of the Bay at the Richmond Marina. A convivial atmosphere. The owner, Lara, is usually present, and may sing an aria if she stops at your table. A mostly Italian menu, the food is always great. In addition to crab Louis, I had one of the best cooked T-bone steaks I've ever tasted.“
“I like to sit in at the bar and watch the games, the margarita is very good. The service is always good at the bar, but the last time I was there they charged 18% service fee if you sat there. I didn't care for that I always had tipped more. My favorite is the seafood enchiladas with the creamy tequila Sauce. I don't know I have had it anywhere else and I enjoy it. The chips are good, the salsa too. I had the fajitas before overloaded with bell pepper but still really good. If I had one thing to say the Happy Hour menu would be nice if printed or it was online. It is a great place for parties.1 star because the food is always barely warm every time, but they will reheat it.“
“if you're looking for a solid late-night meal then hotpot nation is the spot to go in the east bay. their soup base options and variety in meat, veggies, seafood, and other ingredients available to choose from truly makes me feel like im in hot pot heaven. one thing id like to make a note on is the fact that i usually love eating my hot pot ingredients with sauces but with this spot their soup made each ingredient so flavorful/yummy i enjoyed it just as much without the sauces! what i also appreciate about this spot is how their service is more relaxed and laid back. however, if you need something there's a button at your table in which you can press so you can easily grab their attention which is so efficient. highly recommend for yall to check out this place with your friends and family!tips:- you can add different dividers/multiple soup bases in one big pot which allows you to share a fun meal with multiple people with different preferences- lots of parking available- lots of options for various food preferences- perfect for dates, friends, and family“
“Stopped in for a quick lunch after our Alcatraz tour and we were not disappointed! Had one dozen raw oysters and the truffle Parmesan fries. Fresh, delicious! Our server was also lovely and the entire service team was attentive and friendly. Don’t miss this popular place!“
“I work on the island and my xo workers and I go to mersea every Friday for some great drinks and delicious fish and chips and pizza. The fried broccoli appetizers are awesome as well! To top it off the owner always comes and says hi and I’m the staff is very pleasant!“
“I love the concept of this restaurant, the atmosphere and presentation of the dishes with do many delicious flavors . We started with the chicharrones with guacamole , the chicharron was a top for me!My favorite was the beef barbacoa empanada very filling and tasty, the cucumber & brusela salad was amazing so many flavors and very fresh. We also ordered the asada tacos, I like their special take with queso, guac and grilled onion. Super cute place and bar with amazing mezcal cocktails!!“
“Came here with a group of 5 for a friend’s bday and was so pleasantly surprised!Good:- The tater tots were awesome, loved the bulgogi- Great pricing for a large group not too expensive- The bulgogi hot pot was so good- I like the fruit wine here as well and came with a lot of ingredients in it- Service was great friendly staff who also brought out ice cream and sang happy birthday, food also came out quicklyBad:- The chicken karaage was pretty normal not super fancy though and was a bit blandOverall this place was a solid place for a hangout with friends and great Korean food. Was packed as well on a Thursday night“
“Located in the Presidio, Dalida has THE BEST pita bread ever! Trust me, you'll want to order an extra to enjoy with the hummus that comes with the dish "breaking bread". Dalida expertly cooks their lamb, I highly recommend ordering the lamb shoulder. Another dish that I also enjoyed was the octopus, which is plated artfully. One dish that didn't meet my expectations was the chicken. I was hard to cut and wasn't cooked throughly. Our waitress was super gracious and took the chicken back and had the kitchen fire up a new one, which was also just meh. Give this place a try, I'd just not order the chicken. Parking is fairly easy and there's outdoor dining for those rare non freezing cold SF days.“
“Tasty mexican food in North Beach. It was pretty early - like 5:30 pm - and the place was empty, so the orders delivery was fast. We had a burrito (big!) and some tacos with carne asada (portion of three), a cheese enchilada and tacos with guacamole. Everything was really tasty, maybe a little hard to digest (more than other mexican experiences) but I have to say I was really hungry and I ate fast. This food plus two margaritas was like 72$ without tip and I think it’s pretty expensive (it was the most expensive dinner in a almost two weeks trip in and around San Francisco so I think it’s something worth to say). Not so happy with that.Other things: the neighborhood is pretty great, the location is just okay (it doesn’t recall authenticity but it looks more like a franchise fast food); service is a bit cold but kind so nothing to whine about (it’s just an observation). So yeah if you’re hungry, price it’s not a problem and you aren’t looking for a “traditional” kind of thing, this is the place!“
“Food was amazing also the vibes in this restaurant are spectacular it's very lively. I had ended up having a cocktail over wine of course the gimlet there was bomb I ended up having two. Service was overly great I must say like a little too great not saying that I don't like to be checked up on but any given moment things were cleared and we were asked how is everything ...glasses were always full. The potatoes were alright and the brussel sprouts the same. I wasn't really digging the beef short rib but the agnolotti dal plin ugh was so good I will come back just for this.“
“I love this bar/lounge! Upstairs is a quieter area with seating and a bar, but downstairs is the lounge where the live music happens on weekend nights, and this is the place to be! We always have so much fun here. You can even rent out private tables for the live music. This is a great place to drink and dance with young people all the way to older people. I don’t recommend the signature drinks if you don’t like sweet but I like their beers or typical bar drinks. Love this place so much and its tribute to history in Chinatown.“
“This place is awesome - delicious, reasonably-priced cocktails and excellent atmosphere. Staff was friendly and responsive, too. What more could you ask for? Oh... happy hour? They've got that dialed in as well. Check this place out if you haven't yet!“
“I hadn't been back at this place since the night we watched the fireworks for the Golden Gate Bridge's 75th anniversary ( many years ago, maybe 10). The man by the door was friendly and greeted us. But the bartender was not very friendly and frankly seemed like he would prefer for us to leave. We got an Irish Coffee for the old times to share. It was still great! Drank it quickly, paid and got out of there. Although still a good drink, I rather be somewhere where the staff are a bit more pleasant.“
“We got the first table as you walk in the place and felt cozy and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food quite good. The chef's complimentary chocolate truffles for the restaurant's 10 year anniversary were excellent. We will certainly be back!Dietary restrictions: Our friend is gluten free and was happy with the available options.“
“The dinner prix fixe was stellar. Each dish was special and interesting, and balanced. The care that the staff gave us was personal and thoughtful, and they tailored to our dietary restrictions.Dietary restrictions: Extremely accommodating to dietary restrictions. Just share with your server!“
“What a lovely little spot! We stumbled across this restaurant when we were in North Beach and wanted to get some Italian. It was one of the few spots that was open late. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The owner/chef was so charismatic and kind, made us feel taken cared of. He also gave great wine recommendations for our meals. The gnocchi was out of this world, it was like a pillow melting in my mouth. What a great experience especially when you want traditional Italian food. We will definitely be coming back again and trying more of the pasta dishes!“
“Been coming here for years and returned after a hiatus. The food is still delicious and so are the cocktails. The aesthetic and atmosphere is fun and alluring.Ordered the Li Hing Melon and Return to Guava Island as well as Salt & Pepper Chicken and Garlic noodles. The food is bomb!Service was great and I even noticed some familiar faces among the staff which is always refreshing. One of the best bars in Oakland and offers immaculate vibes.“
“Everything about our experience here was phenomenal. The wait wasn’t long, the atmosphere was lively, multiple staff tended to us, and before we even got our food. The west coast oysters were great and the Cioppino was so flavorful and full of seafood.Shoutout to Connie, our waitress, for making our experience the more worth while. Your energy was very bright. Highly recommend!“
“I had the best red lentils I've ever tasted here. The vegetable wot is especially good, well seasoned greens, cabbage, corn, etc. on injera. And the parking's good, especially for Berkeley. My companion and I each got parking spots right in front of the restaurant.“
“Fave bar in Oakland. Adventurous, ever-evolving cocktail menu. Food is affordable and delicious (didn’t know tater tots could be deep fried with such precision, lol).NO tv screens! Ambiance is “cool, cozy, librarian” and vinyl selection is deeeep.“
“Had nice, relaxing brunch. The Fiaker goulash was good. Kid subbed hash browns for caraway potatoes and the hash browns were divine. The caraway potatoes were great too. Pretzel for app was delicious. Looked forward to the wiener schnitzel with great anticipation and it was oh so close! But it was the one disappointment -- the fry was light and crispy, and I appreciate having a pork loin schnitzel (chicken doesn't qualify). But the one thing is that it was WAY TOO buttery. I couldn't taste anything but butter. It came with a great, light potato and cucumber salad. I tried lightening the schnitzel with the provided lingonberry sauce but that also somehow tasted of butter. Only the mustard provided with the pretzel helped offset the butteriness. Looking for a replacement for Suppenkuche's wiener schnitzel and this comes the closest except for the over butteriness. So for now, the best schnitzel in SF is at Radhaus.“
“The bartenders are warm, welcoming and efficient, The drinks match the great vibes, the dj read the room and, had everyone enjoying themselves in the best tiki bar I've ever been. I've been here twice and will definitely be back! 10/10“
“Sometimes you need a mid day cider, or beer, or wine... you know where I'm going with this. Came in on a Thursday afternoon for some me time, and was shocked at myself for never seeing this place. Redfield will now definitely be a staple. The shop itself is super cute with relaxing music - you know to make work just a bit more bearable. The selection of cider is amazing - and having that hot cider on a chilly day is a must do this fall! I recommend the Mission Trail Cherries - It's the perfect amount of sweet and boozy, and the color is beautiful! It was described to me as kind of like a port but in cider form and being aged in a barrel (I can't remember what kind of barrel) - so just the right thing for me. Over all 10/10! Great drinks, friendly staff, and you can even buy some bottles for to go! Do yourself a favor - get a drink this weekend and if you're cold - get a hot cider.“
“Third year in a row for Miracle on Telegraph. It's always a blast! The bartenders get into character and pours lots of delicious holidays drinks. This year my favorite was Rudolph's Replacement (it was like a coffee cocktail) hope they keep this tradition going for years to“
“Amidst the bustling traffic in El Cerrito, there's a hidden gem and a recent addition to the area. Blink and you'll miss it. Even during a brief pause at a stop light when there's a chance to look around, it's highly probable that you'll still miss it. There's no signage on the building itself, so look for the wine barrels sitting on the sidewalk as your clue, or perhaps you'll spot their small sandwich board just outside their front door. Find parking somewhere near 10368 San Pablo Avenue, the address to Banter, a wine bar with a warm atmosphere, welcoming decor, and communal tables. Offering a curated selection of old and new world wines, Banter focuses on small producers who prioritize minimal intervention from vineyard to bottle. On location, you can purchase a bottle from the shelves to enjoy at home or savor a glass (or bottle) in-house. If you need something to eat while you're there, choose from various delicious snacks including cheese, charcuterie, and other tasty treats. During the pandemic, while drinking wine and eating cheese in their backyard, owners Claire and Devin were inspired to open a wine bar, but they wanted their wine bar to feel like "home," - comfy, casual, no frills, just...chill. A collection of cozy couches in the back creates an ambiance reminiscent of enjoying a drink in the living room of your most stylish friend. Classic VHS tapes and 80's knick-knacks are precariously stacked high next to small vintage TVs playing films that will take you back in time. When I was last there the original Flash Gordon was playing. You probably won't get to hear any of the movie dialogue because the bar is spinning LPs from an ever-expanding vinyl collection, fueled by contributions from patrons. A pinball machine in the back room adds to the decor's nostalgic charm and provides an entertaining distraction between pours. With a partial kitchen, Banter partners with local talent and the community to create new opportunities by featuring "pop-ups" - temporary restaurants that allow chefs and restaurateurs to try out a new neighborhood, experiment with their menu, generate a following, or just get some great experience for their staff. During my most recent visit, I got a front-row seat at the bar to witness Chef Emmanual from the restaurant Bolita work his magic with fresh masa, a must-have ingredient at the center of all his signature dishes. Most notable was the Tamal de Calabaza which featured squash masa, mole negro tamal, roasted kabocha, and cashew crema. A nice compliment was the Papas Rositazadas, simple roasted potatoes with black garlic aioli. Both were deliciously elevated and beautifully plated for such a casual environment. Unfortunately by the time you read this Bolita would have moved on to their next location but you can track them down on their website at www.bolitamasa.com. Banter will continue to feature pop-ups and to find out what's in store next visit their location or follow their Instagram @banter_winebar. As temporary as the pop-up food concept is, Banter is hopefully here for good as they focus on what's most important, which is most fittingly stated by the intentionally sloppy, hand-painted sign in front, "Bad Signs, Good Wigns!"“
“Well besides the fact that you can drink in this museum… ya just can’t ask for “cheese & crackers” just anywhere and actually get a wedge from the wheel of cheese and get this.. actual real life crackers! Not those BS square ones in the packet. That’s not even real cheese in those!“
“Our group of 20 enjoyed the spacious patio with heaters. Mac the Host greeted us (carded us) with a friendliness that set the tone for a very happy Happy Hour. All the drinks were delicious, including the whiskey sour and pitcher of lager. We loved the pizza from Rotten Pizza just down the street.“
“Came midweek for lunch, was immediately acknowledged when I walked in and sat shortly after. My server Brian was very attentive and kept a great line of communication throughout my visit as I tried the onions rings, chicken wings, and Matty’s classic burger with the brisket Chili. To top off the feast, Brian recommended the strawberry chocolate milkshake for the road back home. Overall great experience and will definitely make the drive back to Oakland from San Jose to give the rest of the menu a taste!“
“This is a straight up city corner bar that you stumble into before/after doing something else. The bartenders are pretty nice and the drinks are standard. It does sort of feel like you're in an old ship with the U-shaped wooden bar. This is a solid bar hopping spot if you're just roaming around the area living your best life.“
“We went here on a Saturday night for a quick dinner before attending a private party in their patio area. We got there around 8:15 and were seated immediately. Service was excellent. Cocktails were tasty. We ordered a Cobb salad, two pork belly entrées, and some truffle fries. Everything was delicious. The pork belly came with a buttery polenta. After dinner we moved to the middle patio for a private party and service was awesome. I wasn't sure what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. We chose tipsy pig because it was convenient and the same place as our party. I highly recommend this Gastropub.“
“My wife and I went to Rob Ben's restaurant this past Sunday, and was happy that we did. We were searching for a good down home soul food restaurant and to our surprise we found a gem. Rob Ben's is the prime example of what a soul food restaurant should be. It has the down home southern charm located in Emeryville, California. Everyone was so friendly from the staff to the customers. It was like as soon as you crossed the threshold of the door everything became so peaceful. We will definitely be returning customers because the food was so delicious!! We will enjoy the rest of our food for dinner tonight. We recommend Rob Ben's SOUL FOOD restaurant to everyone searching for great food and friendly service. Thank you Rob Ben's staff!! Save some food for us!!“
“Can only comment on oysters, cocktails and ambiance. Super cute spot, cool bar top - great for photos - we took several. Oysters were great! Fresh and flavorful. Our friend even tried her first oyster here tonight. Cocktails were unique and delicious ~$16/each. But the main reason we will be back is due to the service of the bartender, Heidi. She was awesome - friendly, efficient and just gets it!“
“I came here for a team happy hour and I have to say, you should definitely make reservations if you are planning on coming with a group because this place fills up pretty fast. We were so thankful we did. While we were there, there were three other groups there with their own reservations. Since this place isn't terribly big, it got really loud and I could barely talk to the person next to me. Maybe it's just because I'm hard of hearing, I'm not sure, but that was a bummer. Once the two hour window for our reservation was over, we moved closer to the bar and that was a lot better. It made a world of difference for us and it made it easier for all of us to talk to each other as a group. Next time I make reservations, I'm going to ask if we have the spot behind it because it's super ideal! The drinks and food were pretty delicious and full of variety which was really nice with all of them being reasonably priced also. Overall, I would definitely come back but just make sure to sit closer to the bar next time!“
“If you are in the know, Black Horse London Deli is the smallest coolest bar in SF and around the world possibly. The King, James has run this place for a couple of decades, it is the most unique bar spot in SF, fits only 2 handfuls of dedicated patrons, a special brand of humans indeed, the service is unsurpassed. After shelter in place, James turned it into a gourmet sandwich and hot dog kitchen, this King knows how to cook as well. So all you peeps who uses Postmates, grubhub etc. This place rocks and the food he serves is just super delicious, end of story“
“My first Kava experience didn’t disappoint! Upon learning this was my first time trying Kava, the barista offered us a ceremony to try it first and explained the origin and types of Kava to me.Tried the Colada and warm special Kava. Def a fun experience that’s quintessential Berkeley / Oakland. Check them out if you are in the area.“
“I love this place so much. Rain, shine, overcast, hot, cold, freezing. It does not matter. This place will make you feel happy and enjoying your yummy drink. Great place to have a low key night but also great to want to have fun. DJs on the weekend. One of my fave bars in Oakland. They have actual sand :)“
“Best wings in the East Bay! Stopped in to visit my friend in Oakland and was pleasantly surprised. The Korean fried wings are hand breaded, tender, and nothing short of amazing. Looking for some heat though Catfish bites were absolutely perfect The cocktail list rivals any fancy rooftop in San Francisco Plenty of room to accommodate large groups. Conveniently located close to the convention center. Stop in to see Mikey or Paul during happy hour“
“black owned business I definitely will come back the esthetic were nice and like a classy dive bar I wasn't impressed with our drinks but I will be back and will order again.. the drinks weren't too strong but had a good flavor they also have cocktails ontap which I thought was lovely. good music nice vibes a lounge with more bar seats staff were nice and attentive . the bartender was working solo and did well at attending to everyone he could have used 2 more bands behind the bar“
“Visited here a few times on my last visit to San Francisco. Fantastic place with friendly Staff and a lovely waterfront view. The food is amazing as well, particularly the BBQ chicken wings which were absolutely lush! Definitely recommend and will be back on my next visit!“
“Live Band Karaoke with THE LOST WEEkENDs was exceptionally fun! The band are VERY talented musicians and they work hard to give each 'guest' singer a good experience. The crowd at the IVY ROOM was very supportive (and forgiving!) and the staff was enthusiastic, and charming as usual.Aside from the live band part, it differed from regular karaoke in that the lyrics you are reading do not alert you to a starting point where you should start singing. They ARE on anIpad, but it's pretty much just the same as holding a piece of paper with lyrics printed on it. I suggest going to the band's website, finding the link to their list of Karaoke covers and practicing a little with a YouTube karaoke video of that song beforehand-if you don't know the song you want to perform really well already.I can't wait to go back, I hope the LosT WeeKends return to The Ivy Room soon !“
“I always enjoy The Wolf. Great lunch today. I had the cod sandwich which was just as good as the last time I had it. My friend had the popover and soup. We sat on the patio and it was so relaxing. I didn't feel rushed at all, which I really appreciated after a crazy week.“
“718 was formerly the Blind Pig, which took over the Cathay House . The bar and seating areas are exactly the same as when the blind pig opened. They're in the process of revamping the drink menu.Drinks:I tried the jalapeño margarita..very tasty, pretty strong drink!. They used mezcal which gave it the smokiness! The bartender made us to try two new bourbon drinks. They haven't named it yet. One was mixed well, not sure what else was in it, but it was topped off with a dehydrated passion fruit. Optically stunning..maybe a just a pinch sweeter and it would be bomb! The second drink was mixed with oolong tea and five spice.. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second!Food: we didn't eat but they served snacks: fried wontons, potstickers and fried spring rolls.Ambiance: great space!! Comfortable seating! We were a party of five and had the whole bar to ourselves the entire time we were there. Maybe it's an after dinner spot. The one bartender was great. He served strong drinks and was very attentive. This is my new hidden gem! I will be back to try the new menu soon!“
“I was on the way to a different brewery in the area but they were closed and I’m glad I found this spot. The staff are down to earth and friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for what I was looking for (getting a little work done along with a pint).“
“The Barbary is one of the best cocktail bars in Oakland, bar none. The prices range from $13-$16 per cocktail. My partner said this place has the best Old Fashioned they've ever had. I'm a fan of the Spice Trader and the Black Tot Grog. Don't let the prices deter you; the quality makes it worthwhile. The pirate/nautical theme has good ambiance. It's not overbearing, but definitely not something you can overlook. I'd call it cute and whimsical, and I appreciate that the art on the walls was bought from small artists on Etsy. It vaguely reminds me of the vibe on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Like, a little homemade and dated but done with love and extreme attention to detail. On weekends they have live music, often jazz, and it's been good stuff every time I came here. The staff is all great. Owners are often on-site. Jorge, the door guy, is friendly and helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend this as a place for a date night. It's classy, cool, and serves up good drinks. Really happy to have this place on Grand!“
“We had reservations for 6 of us.Menus were on tablets that were on the table for guest to viewWe order appetizers plus 6 main dishes.Every dish was beautifully presented and very delicious. Our waiter was funny, helpful and polite in our likes and dislikes. He was very attentive to our needs which made our first time very memorable..The Flan dessert was so good and tasty.I will definitely go back.Extra points for having easy parking too.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and welcome families with toddlers“
“Always right on time and never a disappointment. Merchants is a total essence of dive bar and no comparison to others who claim to be100 years and counting- say what???? But welcoming to old and new, stop by Merchants if your in Jack London. Put money in the meter if you arrive 9-5ish. And remember where you are, have nothing visible in your car to avoid break ins.“
“Kona Club is the best! The decor is amazing and you feel really transported to another place once you walk in the door. The drinks are well priced and top notch (Chi Chi is a must for first timers). My favorites are the Painkiller and the Konarita. The bartenders are great - just beware forewarned that they are slammed on the weekends and it may take some time to get served.“
“My husband Pat and I (kim) always look forward to our visits to Marina Lounge. Bartender Peter greets us like great friends! Patrons are always friendly. We enjoy our conversations with the clientele. As visitors from Sonora they offer great places to enjoy meals and there are many delightful places in neighborhood serving a variety of steak, Asian, Peruvian, burgers etc. Never disappointed. All in walking the close neighborhood. But we shout out to our bartender friend, Peter, for adding fun to our visit. Best part we feel safe in the neighborhood.“
“before we went on the ship to alcatraz, i wanted to have a quick bite to eat. the fried calamari were delicious - the only thing missing was a slice of lemon, which you could certainly order. unfortunately, the cocktail sauce didn't suit me at all. the waiter then brought me 2 other sauces - which i really appreciated. unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is what it is - a touristy place - overpriced.“
“It is great to have them back after 2 years. It is very affordable the staff helps you as soon as possible and the sound system is really good. You can really feel the music as it is nicely played. Also they update new songs asap so you will get to sing most new songs.“
