“Stayed at the new AC hotel this weekend and went to Above Fifth the rooftop bar Saturday night for drinks. Contrary to all the bad reviews, we found the experience to be a great one. We counted three of us plus maybe three or four other tables, and about 10-12 staff members, who were all friendly and attentive. We were allowed to choose our booth seating, and they promptly rolled over a heater to keep us warm. We would definitely return to this hotel and bar“

“Went there to catch a Niner game and while there are tvs this is not a sports bar, which is cool but be warned if that's the reason for your visit. They have a large outdoor area in the back with tables and umbrellas. Bathrooms were not gross though I say this with only a 50% sample size. There is one pool table that accepts bills so there's a headache averted. They have card nights with what seemed a healthy patronage. Hold 'em was the game d'jour during my visit. Of note: There were several signs alerting to the fact that drug use and dealing of the same are not for them so consider yourself informed. I had a good time so may you do the same“

“I went here for lunch, and it was quick and filling. I had orrechette with a regular made of veal and tomato tarragon cream sauce. It was delicious and perfectly balanced in flavors. The shrimp and scallop Caesar salad was large and had plenty of seafood but had soggy lettuce, which is to be expected from a hot protein. Everything was very filling. Good lunch on the way to SFO.“

“What an incredible find! In town for the weekend and found this spot based on reviews - and indeed, there was absolutely spectacular food, kind, attentive service, and delicious drinks. If we lived nearby, we would be here constantly! We especially loved the beef ragu pappardelle, butternut squash ravioli, basque cheesecake, and pistachio ricotta cake. Don’t miss this if you are nearby!“

“Beautiful atmosphere. We sat inside thinking it would get cold but when we left at 7 we saw the wonderful large heater lamps and wished we’d sat outside. Our server was so friendly and attentive! All food exceptional.We’ll definitely be back

“Food & cocktails were fine, service was good but the surprise hidden fee charged left a sour taste! They added a 4% "Living wage fee", without any clear display of those charges. (SB 1524). this is sneaky and as a small business owner just wrong. Just include in the cost like the rest of us do!“

“Was here on Christmas Eve, and the food, service, and ambience couldn’t have been better. Had clay pot dishes, both beef and tofu, assorted nigiri, Dragon roll - all wonderfully fresh, edamame, a shrimp tempura roll, and sake. We we all delighted. Thanks for adding to a beautiful Christmas Eve!“

“Our Friday 630PM dinner for four was amazing. That's why I'm taking the time to write this review.
We sat inside. The indoor decor was bright and spacious. It was warm so we didn't sit outside.
Outdoor is a garden setting with many private nooks and many beautiful flowers and vines.
As I waited for my party I sat at the bar and watched the bartender make splendid cocktails.
The dining room was busy with a older crowd of Marin regulars.
I spotted a fellow ex Dipsea runner
at a large family table.
We were efficiently seated at a private side dining area as requested.
Our food came piping hot The portions were large and we shared our entrees.
Everything was extraordinary.
Our server was fun as we chatted and she made good recommendations.

“Have dined at Le Chalet Basque for more than 20 years. Our recent meal with lamb chops, fresh vegetables, mashed potatoes and split pea soup served with crumbled blue cheese salad couldn't have been better. Fresh ingredients, great wine and excellent service will keep us returning again and again.“
