“The food was really good! It is a loud restaurant so if you are hard of hearing it might be troublesome. I feel the food took some time but you get a good big portion! They even have a gift store around the corner. The line wait time is pretty long so just be prepared.”
“This spot is AWESOME!!! Not only is the food delicious and great portions, but the staff is totally amazing!! Everyone that works here seem genuinely happy and enjoy what they are doing. We had so much fun and laughter. Can't wait to come back. Thanks for confirming the best decision of the day.”
“We came for dinner last night and had the margarita, sausage pizza, and winter salad. It was all delicious. The pizza had a nice crispy crust and the flavors were very balanced on the salad dressing. This is a cozier restaurant with roughly 5-6 pizzas on the menu. As others have mentioned, we recommend coming earlier unless you want to wait. We were there at opening and got a table no problem. We will definitely be back.”
“Ordered the Pad Thai and Veggie red curry and rice. Everything was so fresh and tasted great. The chai ice tea was fantastic also. Prices were great and service was top notch.”
“Wow. My new favorite restaurant. I moved to the area three years ago, and how have I been sleeping on this place? They have everything dialed in: great service, fun atmosphere, and the most crave-able cuisine. Two weeks later, I'm still thinking about my chicken parmesan with the sneaky kick, and my boyfriend's tender, perfectly seasoned filet. They do the classics, but find ways to surprise you. Whatever you do, do not skip dessert. The coconut citrus pie, I want to say, is something between a key lime pie and Basque cheesecake, and it is one of the best desserts that I have ever tasted. Also, this might not be the first place you'd think to go for a perfect margarita, but the bartender can make you one. Shout out to our waiter, Brian, who was attentive, funny, and made us feel right at home.Parking: The hour that we went, the parking lot right across the street was free.”

“This is the best restaurant in San Rafael and they have a lot of nice ones here but this place is perfection. Food is amazing. They are fast and the service is (only) the best service you have ever experienced. That’s all. Just that.Do yourself a favor, and go here and treat yourself. The prices are very reasonable but make sure you are kind to the staff and tip generously and they will make your night really magical and special. Thanks guys. I love your love, even though Valentine’s Day is not my favorite day to go to dinner. At least when I have to go there alone. ?❤️? Vegetarian options: Look at the menu.Parking: Parking is abundantKid-friendliness: They are friendly to kids”
“Excellent buffet, beautiful interior. Service was good; always had my water glass filled. Food wasn't more spicy than I could handle -- most of the things were pretty mild -- while still being flavorful. I'm not vegetarian but someone in my party was vegan. There were plentiful options with both meat or vegetables.”
“You've got to check out this little Hidden Gem. For anybody who has lived in the Marin area, you've probably tried this place and kept it to yourself. From the outside, it is very unassuming. You might even pass it up, but don't. This little Italian star is a must stop place. The authentic Italian cuisine and ample Wine Bar match the elegant decor within. Our server was an older Italian gentleman. He is quiet, direct, and efficient. He made sure we were well taken care of despite how busy things were and never made us feel rushed. My guest and I shared one of the best Caesar salads I have had in a long time. I then had the Tortellini Toscana (Veal & Prosciutto) prosciutto, peas, and cream. Divine! I love the taste of fresh made tortellini. My guest had the lasagna and was impressed with the flavor and texture.Lunchtime is busy, so be prepared. The best part of all is the price. $20 to 35 pp without alcohol.I can't wait to go back and sample many of the other dishes. I promise to get pictures this time.Buon Appetito!”

“Well, I discovered this small place in the heart of San Rafael and pffff I fell in love with the cuisine that led me to remember my mother's food in my beautiful Mexico. I'm sure I'll come back to try more of the menu but today I tried some carnitas and asada picaditas and their super tasty horchata water, I fell in love with this little place”
“This is hands down my favorite bar... In the world. It might also be the best bar in the world. The cocktails are off the hook, the bartenders are friendly and welcoming and the vibe is perfection.”
“Himalayan Kitchen in San Rafael is the BEST!We ordered our food to go for a staff event. Everyone, even our pickiest eaters, enjoyed the selections. All the food is fragrant, bursting with flavor, and not oily. The saag paneer cubes are tastier and more flavorful than any we've had before, as is the spinach in that dish! It's traditional, yet lighter Indian style, and, therefore, different in a significant way! The butter chicken was so delicious. We ordered mild for those who can't handle the heat, but the spices were still abundant. Everything was flavorful and created with much care and love. The chow mein was a BIG hit, too! There were rave reviews all around! Our group didn't dine in the restaurant, but I noticed cheery, artful lighting and cleanly furnished spaces while visiting for our order. I also saw a quiet little nook with a cluster of small tables behind the front desk wall, which looked cozy and inviting! This restaurant is a stellar place with caring staff and delicious food!Five STARS +++'s for Himalayan Kitchen!Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian choices, all superb!”

“Food is amazing and service is fantastic. I ordered three pupusas, and horchata, and a diet coke. The pupusas, slaw, and salsa were the perfect degree of spiciness. The dining room is immaculately clean. Plenty of free convenient parking just outside the door. And the prices are very reasonable.”
“I live in Sausalito incase anyone thinks I’m a regular and I’m trying to plug a friend’s place or whatever. This is the best breakfast in Marin. Food is so fresh and the staff are exceptional. I work in the service industry and don’t usually leave reviews. Really evident team culture and refreshing attitudes all round. Well done to all!”
“Super cute spot with great boba and friendly staff. I’ve had the brown sugar milk tea and the mango sticky rice inspired drink which is amazing and so unique and fun! Easy to order on the kiosk and quick service.Dietary restrictions: They don’t use powdered mixes so you can get the drinks dairy free with alternative milks”
“Everything about this place merits FIVE STARS ⭐️. It’s a uniquely DELICIOUS experience. Hector was very personable and fun - genuine positive energy, even gave me a sample to try before purchase (first time customer). The food is extremely fresh with an authentic signature taste. This little unassuming food joint is filled with big things: positive energy, exemplary customer service, easy parking, adequate portion size, the food is prepared with loving intention, and you can taste it!?”
“My friends really liked what they ordered: Cinnamon pancakes, pulled pork sandwich, mocha. I had ordered a Gluten free chicken sandwich which was really bad. The chicken was fine I guess, but the bread was very very soggy and just felt apart. The bread was very bad. My friend had also ordered the same sandwich without the gf option, his bread was fine but the sandwich wasn't anything special. Would not recommend the gf option!”

“Delicious food! Waiter was super friendly and was outgoing. We chatted for a bit! Good was delicious, especially the Tandoori Boti Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan.”

“Came here as a group of 8 with two kids. With the pretty interior and given how clean the place was, we all lowered down our expectation for food and expected it to be non-authentic. To our surprise, the food was delicious! Pho as well as vermicelli were on point. Highly recommend this restaurant. The staffs were also so welcoming and kind to the kids!”

“The bartender asked me what I'd like to drink and I asked him to surprise me and he made me THE MOST EXCELLENT drink ever. I can't recall the name of it but it was like a tequila Old Fashion. Great service!!!”
“I love this spot. It has a friendly homey vibe. My pizza was good but the bottom crust was a little stale tasting. But that’s unusual. They mushrooms are great.”

“Because I read the Marin IJ Feb. 2024 review, I tried this new cafe. The spicy pork protein bowl was fresh, delicious, and nutritious. The kim chee was excellent! When I lived in Seoul, I ate Korean food in high-end restaurants and cheap hole-in-the-walls.This cafe gives a great taste and feel for the uniqueness of Korean cuisine.Highly recommend!”
“Our server, Erika and she was phenomenal! I got the crab and ship enchilada special and my husband got an emoladas and a braised pork taco combo. It came out reasonably quick ”
“Wanted tacos after weekend of camping. This was closest place on way home. Park under sketchy overpass area. Line out the door. Reasonable prices. Had 5 chicken tacos dorados plus side of sour cream and guac(don’t bother ordering the guac). Came with nacho chips plus red and tomatillo salsa. Total was $12. Lots of food for the money. Nothing exceptional but good and seems very popular among locals.”
“Ounces is such a great addition to Terra Linda! The food and drink menus change often and are consistently phenomenal. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a cider, wine or a beer and I've never been disappointed! Trivia on Wednesdays is always fun, and the weekends have a live music.”
“Totally radical place to take your toddler or under 12 kiddos!! a contained play zone with hidden tunnels and ladders and costumes! My kid who is 4.5 spent about 3 hours there and slept so well that night. So we went back three days in a row. Today is day four! Perfect for time when you don’t have a sitter, it’s vacation and you’re stuck in town or just need something new! The cafe is separate and you can watch your kid or sit and have a latte or pellegrino. If you’re not a wheat and sugar person, bring snacks! They only have pastries and oatmeal. 10/10 and would be 20/10 if there were some non grain and sugar food options like hard boiled eggs? Also could be good to have one dedicated staff member with bright vest in the chaos so that parents don’t have to play referee! We love you Fox & Kit!! ???Kid-friendliness: Literally best kid zone i’ve been too- controlled chaos with a latte lounge if you need a breather! Met lots of awesome local parents too! Great chill spot for connecting while kids have a blast and the smallness makes for kids connection more effective!!???”
“Warm and crusty sourdough rolls are the staple of these tried and true sandwiches. Tasty and comforting on a cold day. Busy, popular place but a short wait. Friendly waitstaff. I recommend this place!”

“This is hands down the BEST ice cream shop ever. There are so many flavors to choose from and they are all so fresh and delicious. My personal favorite is the chocolate chip, it's perfect. Seriously cannot say better things about the ice cream & service! Also the shop itself is so cute!”
“Had to drop a Pinnedhaggler Poppinhock off at Glare Attaway's Speedo testing center so his lead pressuretester Anaconda John can iron out some wrinkles in their new product line, before they flood the market up in Guerneville. I drove right past the Redwood Cafe on my way there and planned on eating there when I was finished, so here I am.The grilled ham and cheese sandwich was Spectacular! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆”
“Red Whale has brought hipster coffee to San Rafael. If you are a coffee aficionado and you haven’t been here yet, you need to be. I love a good latte and Red Whale does not disappoint. Their lattes can easily hang with the likes of Blue Bottle and Equator. And if you are a drip coffee or cold brew person, these guys look legit. They have a wall of glass equipment dedicated to making cold brew (it’s worth going just to see that wall!).There has been as much thought put into the space as they have put into their coffee - with a room dedicated to coffee paraphernalia and a lounge room equipped with a seating area, record player and vintage pinball machines. One thing to note is if you’re in a rush, you may or may not get your coffee quickly. Sometimes the regulars like to chat up the baristas which can slow things down a bit but the coffee is definitely worth the wait.”
“do you want to have a super Duper unbelievable delicious prime rib sandwich on a Friday afternoon come to peace 881 club or come Thursday night for the full primary dinner for like less than 30 bucks that's half the price that anywhere else you would go and it's delicious and the bartenders are awesome and on Friday they use the leftover prime to make the real thin slice prime rib sandwiches. They're like 17 bucks. They were double.”
“We will go back here! Really nice place. Great vibe. Excellent service. Nice, quite bar. We found parking very close and easily. We didn't eat dinner, so I can't rate the food. But I will bet it matches the level of the rest of this place. Really good spot. Go here!!!!”
“Love looking for new places to try, especially when traveling. Provided options to my SIL for her bday dinner and this is what she opted for. We ordered an assortment: beer battered onion rings, ceaser salad, kale salad, clam chowder, mustache pizza and shrimp scampi pasta. We enjoyed everything (no leftovers). We ordered dessert: tiramisu and chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. It takes about 15 minutes for the cookie as they make it fresh in a cast iron pan so it's served nice and warm. Cute place and great ambiance.”
“Best Thai food in Marin for decades. The Pad Thai especially is the best I've had. I've tried comparing it to many other places and there is something about Bay Thai that cannot be matched by the rest”
“I have been coming here for over 30 years and it always has been great. They treat you like family and feed you better.Parking: There is a 2 story parking garage in the back with meters, but it is free after 6:00 pm and all day Sunday”

“I paid for extra meat for the spicy wagu ramen and although the dish was really spicy and really good I don’t feel like I got a food value for what I paid for. For 3 items nearly $35? Expensive.”
“Outstanding.Would describe the restaurant lay out as being just the right side of minimalist or less-is-more, yet still warm and inviting. The staff were simply wonderful; attentive but never intrusive, knowledgable, and reminding me of the professionalism you see in a 1 star establishment. Note: Extra special thanks to Buffy.I sat on a high chair/counter next to the kitchen to watch Chef and his team. The bread and butter (so often a let down) was delicious. I was a bit worried about their interpretation of the steak tartare appetizer but it was a revelation..highly recommended. The carbonara was also delicious, as was the wonderful Pinot Grigio which was very well priced. Pizza looked very good (not my thing). I would describe the overall restaurant vibe/atmosphere as convivial and relatively subdued, with everyone focused on the fabulous quality of the food.I am literally returning this evening. It's that good.”
“Tried this place before covid and wasn't all that impressed. But I can back after and feel like the quality got better. Their grilled chicken on anything is fantastic. My only complaint is that their tortilla chips are only ok.”
“best in town, only take out now, but great food.when it was a sit down restaurant service, price, and just great people! miss that, but still enjoy the best ever food. egg foo young, really good, the combo,Mongolian beef, just everything is so delicious , you will go back,”
“For me this is the BEST Indian food in all of Marin! All of the options have a distinctive, delicious taste and the Buffet is excellent. I personally love the Basmati rice and Chicken Tikka Masala!”
“The mission was simple: good people watching, food, and service. Mission accomplished at The Monk's Kettle. I don't drink, but Travis hooked me up with 2 of the best n/a bevs I think I've ever had! Our food was delicious. I'm also vegetarian, so huge bonus when any meat sando can be subbed for a vej patty. The black bean patty was super tasty and light enough that I don't feel bloated rn. Oh...and we were treated like queens. That was the best part. The hospitality was on point. Definitely going back!!Vegetarian options: As I stated in my review, stoked to see that they had a black bean patty and the Impossible burger for the sandos/burgers. The kale salad, soups, and sides were numerous. The brussel sprouting kale salad were so good!!Parking: The free parking lot was packed when we got there (with cars competing for spots). By the time we left, there were plenty of spaces.”
“Everything was good with clearly the potential to be great. Maybe the best thing was they were extremely busy, but unfortunately that affected our service and food. They had lots of to go orders happening. Food was very good except we didn't really enjoy the baked scallop salmon. The people are very nice and welcoming. The space is very small, but makes it quite quaint if you like that. I will definitely go back for another experience!”
“I loved what I orderedThe garlic mojo shrimp were delicious ? I also ordered a flan ? but I didn't get to take a photo of it, I missed it but it was too small for 4.50 I think that's what it costs I definitely won't order more”
“We came in for lunch on Sunday and the place was packed. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman who quickly brought us a couple menus. He explained that we could order directly from him or use the QR code on the table . We aren't big fans of ordering with our phones so we opted to order from him.We had some questions about what was his favorite thing on the menu and he told us the burger was his favorite. The burger was amazing. My friend ordered a tuna melt and was really impressed.I highly recommend the range cafe. Great food and great service.”
“I came here because the San Francisco Chronicle listed it as one of the best 10 tamales in the bay area. I was not disappointed. It’s not traditional corn masa tamales from Mexico, but rather rice or potato masa tamales. The sauces are wonderful the meat is tender, and the tamales melt in your mouth. The nice lady behind the counter was very helpful in helping me make my choices. I bought six different tamales to take home. I’ll be back.”
“Food is absolutely fantastic!!!! Could eat here over and over. Mixed drinks are very light on the alcohol. Our server wasn't very attentive either. The food makes up for it all though. Soooo ”
“Sakura sushi is honestly a great place to eat, but here’s the thing. The food is great but the service isn’t. Plus they don’t give you directions that you actually have to get up your self and order. I sat there for over a half n hour with my father, just for some tobiko nigiri. And it’s not an easy place to find, the location isn’t very pleasing. Theo overall review is four stars. Thank you.”
“The food and the service is really good, I highly recommend this place , the food taste like if it was made at home, when I usually go to a restaurant I order always the same because I'm afraid I won't like other dishes but here everyone I had order it's tasty and have to come back for a different dish since I can't eat it all , the staff is very friendly!! I totally recommended”
“Very good. The salsa was well done and probably homemade. But the entire pizza, pepperoni, was delirious. One of my favorite pizzas in USAParking: Very nice atmosphere”
“This delightful Japanese restaurant and sushi bar is a little out of the way and almost too easy to miss nestled among an unremarkable collection of store fronts. So far, in my journey to sample all the sushi restaurants in San Rafael, this is the best sushi in town - hands down. The fish is incredibly fresh and the taste is perfect. I will definitely be coming back again. They even have a selection of teas that are amazing. The pricing is even reasonable despite the inflation and the outrageous cost of 2024 dining.Kid-friendliness: My ten year old was treated with special care and given a green tea ice cream gratis, which delighted her to no end!”
“Best Thai food in Marin for decades. The Pad Thai especially is the best I've had. I've tried comparing it to many other places and there is something about Bay Thai that cannot be matched by the rest”
“We have ordered pizza here a couple of times. The ingredients taste fresh and I like their Romano style crust. The chocolate mousse with orange peel is a favorite too. Parking is tight like any place in the Bay area.”
“Great beer and ambience. The food ... the cochinita tacos were great the pretzel was really good the cheese has an odd texture but tasted ok. Now the wings were terrible they were not fried, they seemed boiled the skin was soft but the worse was the sauce. I was excited to see the Chile de árbol option since it's my favorite sauce and I love spicy. This is not Chile de árbol it had no flavor it was just very hot I could not eat it and I really do love spicy, but this just hurt. Chile de árbol has a unique flavor and is usually done with tomatillo it does not have large seeds like the one served here that was not seasoned at all. I was really disappointed and could not finish it. The cook should go to a local taqueria and ask for Chile de árbol sauce it would go great with FRIED wings. I will go back but I wouldn't get the wings again.”

“I regularly order the chicken pho to take out. It is really delicious. Incredible flavorful broth and plentiful chicken and many condiments to add. The owner is very pleasant and accommodating.”
“I'm only disappointed in myself for not experiencing this well established North Bay staple long time ago. There's no denying the validity of past reviews or the outstanding quality of their products.”
“This place is the best and I hope they never close! I grew up in the area but now live out of the country and my family has relocated to the east bay but I still make the 60 min drive all the way to Jelly Donut whenever I come to visit them. The owners are super friendly and generous, often throwing in an extra freebie too. We've tried 4 other donut shops in the east bay and none are even close to as good as these. Long live Jelly Donut!”
“The bartender asked me what I'd like to drink and I asked him to surprise me and he made me THE MOST EXCELLENT drink ever. I can't recall the name of it but it was like a tequila Old Fashion. Great service!!!”
“Amazingly beautiful cupcakes! Would recommend them for any occasion. Unbelievable compliments from recipient. Apparently even more beautiful than pictured. Marin is lucky to have them - wish they would open a branch in Los Angeles!”
“I love this spot. It has a friendly homey vibe. My pizza was good but the bottom crust was a little stale tasting. But that’s unusual. They mushrooms are great.”
“Amazing quality and customer service. The deli selection are individually made to order. The Friday BBQ ? ribs and tri tip are the bomb and their meat ? & case selection is the best quantity. So lucky to live in the neighborhood.”
“Food was great, very simple no frills, but they had some good quality and good prices. Not your trendy spot, more like the hole in the wall with great food you hope your friend tells you about.”
“I have been coming here for over 30 years and it always has been great. They treat you like family and feed you better.Parking: There is a 2 story parking garage in the back with meters, but it is free after 6:00 pm and all day Sunday”
“Sweetest family run local bakery around. That AND the best bread to bring home after you immediately treat yourself to the array of croissants +++ – Have you tried the pretzels??!!! SOO GOOD.”
“Amidst the bustling culinary landscape of our fair city, there exists a dining establishment that transcends both time and tradition, a place known as "Tender Tenders." With a tagline that boldly proclaims "the best tenders in history," one must prepare for a gastronomic voyage like no other. Yet, dear reader, beneath this alluring veneer of culinary excellence, a whisper of enigmatic intrigue weaves its way through the hallowed corridors of this establishment. As I ventured into the ethereal confines of Tender Tenders, I was immediately captivated by its opulent décor, reminiscent of a bygone era. The ghostly candlelight flickered gently upon the aged wooden beams and timeworn maritime artifacts, a testament to a history rich in maritime lore. Little did I know that these antiquities concealed a secret; one whispered among the city's culinary cognoscenti—an owner of otherworldly origin, a spectral pirate from an ancient past. The menu, a veritable parchment of maritime marvels, beckoned me forth into the unknown. The star attraction, as promised by the restaurant's bold claim, was their legendary tenders. The Ghostly Captain's Signature Tenders, to be precise. These tender morsels of succulent chicken, dressed in a whisper-thin, ethereal batter, were a revelation. Each bite was an exquisite dance of flavors, a fusion of culinary prowess and spectral mystique. One could almost hear the distant creaking of a phantom ship's timbers as the flavors unfolded on the palate. The spectral touch extended beyond the tenders themselves. The sides, such as the Ghostly Slaw and Haunted Fries, bore the unmistakable mark of a chef who had transcended the boundaries of time and space to deliver a dining experience unlike any other. The coleslaw, with its delicate balance of tang and creaminess, invoked the nostalgia of long-lost seafaring feasts. The fries, crisp and golden, seemed to carry with them the echoes of a pirate's treasure chest. The service, though subtly imbued with an air of otherworldly mystery, was impeccable. The staff, who moved with an uncanny grace, attended to every need with an almost preternatural intuition. One could almost believe that they were spectral apparitions themselves, orchestrating a symphony of culinary delight.Dessert, too, bore the unmistakable mark of the Ghostly Captain's mastery. The Phantom Parfait, a delicate confection of ethereal creams and mysterious fruits, left me in a state of culinary rapture. It was as if the very essence of the ghostly owner had been captured in this final course. As I departed Tender Tenders, I couldn't help but ponder the enigmatic figure that is the restaurant's owner—a ghostly pirate from an ancient past. It was as if his spirit lingered in every corner, infusing the restaurant with a unique blend of history, mystery, and gastronomic excellence. Tender Tenders, with its extraordinary tenders and spectral ambiance, is a dining experience that defies both time and convention. It is a place where the boundaries between the living and the spectral blur, and where culinary mastery meets spectral enigma. A true Michelin star establishment that transcends the ordinary and beckons the adventurous diner to embark on a journey of taste and intrigue like no other.”
“First off I've had really beef kubideh and this place is right up there. I've been looking for a place for a while and finally found it. It's juicy and ”
“Great spicy Mexican food (of course plenty of non spicy as well!) the place is nice and clean the music can be a bit loud sometimes, the service is pretty average, add the Menu is pretty good, I highly recommend the al pastor Tortas! Super delicious!”
“We have ordered pizza here a couple of times. The ingredients taste fresh and I like their Romano style crust. The chocolate mousse with orange peel is a favorite too. Parking is tight like any place in the Bay area.”
“Lots of choices on the menu. Don’t get the calamari, though. Too greasy. Potatoes and chicken skewers were excellent, though. Get a half carafe of Sangria to wash it all down.”
“Outstanding.Would describe the restaurant lay out as being just the right side of minimalist or less-is-more, yet still warm and inviting. “Excellent pizza spot - service was incredibly and friendly, pizza was delicious. Had to wait a few mins for a table but not a big deal at all, definitely worth it. Pistachio tiramisu is to die for”

“My wife and I had the French Vanilla at a restaurant in Healdsburg and fell in love with the creamy and stretchy makeup of this amazing gelato. I just stopped by their factory in San Rafael and was greeted by this wonderful lady, Mary who got me addicted to several other flavors. It’s like going to Italy without having to pay for the airfare. I am walking away with a few thousand calories of goodness for the weekend.”
“My family hasn't had A&W in a long time as there are none close to our home. We look forward to tasting their delicious burgers and scrumptious root beer floats. We happened to be traveling through Marin and spotted this location. The food, as always, was not a letdown. In addition, l was especially impressed by the girls taking my order and helping me at the counter. They were very nice, polite, friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back.”
“Gloria Jean's used to be my favorite! They used to have one at the Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton and I loved getting their cookie chiller drinks. Man did I take those for granted or what?! They make the best frappé drinks in my opinion, better than Starbucks. I had been craving a cookie chiller for a long time and I was bummed to see that the only location left in the Bay Area was all the way up in San Rafael. I legit drove an hour just to satisfy my craving haha. The drink was good, but it honestly wasn't made as I remember it to taste. I'm sure it can vary based on who's making the drink. Overall, I'm still happy there's a Gloria Jean's in existence. Please open one in Walnut Creek!”
“The three of us were pretty darn hungry when we walked in to dine at the El Pollo Loco. One of my dining companions loves this location. He eschews all other locations when possible to eat here. It's been over 20 years since I've eaten at El Pollo Loco and I literally had no memory of what the food was like. I just remember I liked it. The service and setup is similar to every other fast food chain. The one difference is that the final stage where the order is completed with the small miscellaneous items that finishes the order. There was a lot of confusion at this point. multiple people try to complete the order. There were mixups. I think they need to establish the correct workflow in order to polish this. I got the chicken, avocado salad and it was darn healthy. A balanced blend of grilled chicken, beans, rice, corn, avocado and a dab of sour cream. Not a sign of grease. Checking the nutrition information confirmed El Pollo Loco is a healthy choice. The original meal is the best nutritional choice. The portions were sized just right for a very hungry group. It was within acceptable bounds even for diabetics (assuming your blood sugar is on the low side). The food was delicious. I would've said that no matter what since I was starving. But now I remember why I'd liked El Pollo Loco in the first place. Additionally, it was nice to be able to eat a takeout meal without managing the portions to suit the diabetic requirements. This meal is literally so healthy I could skip worrying about it. This one's a keeper.”
“I only have used the drive through here although it is very convenient and never have I had to wait in line or for my food for more than a couple minutes. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The only issue with this location is that they don’t always get the brand new menu items because it’s also a Taco Bell. So you can get your chicken pot pie, cole slaw and nacho fries all at the same time.”

“The food is great. One time when I was a kid I went into the bathroom and somebody left a little surprise on the seat. The service is great. The food is ready in seconds and it's hot and fresh.11.5/10 recommendations”
“This place has a hard-working staff especially because they are immediately off of one of the most complicated freeway interchanges in northern California. The food is good, burgers of good value BUT the line can get really really long because of the above reason, HOWEVER it's purely because of the infrastructure being so dense in this area. The surrounding neighbourhood is largely of new immigrants to America, there might be a language barrier but with patience and kindness you will get your food. Bilingualism is an important talent but hunger anger is no reason to verbally abuse a service worker. #civility”

“It's a tiny spot with only a few parking options but they have a great selection of smoothies, juices, wellness shots, salads, snacks and seasonal desserts. Love stopping here to pick up snacks on the way to the movies or on a road trip.”

“Great Mexican food and the BEST salsa in Marin. The restaurant is clean and the service is good. It’s a family owned restaurant and the food always comes out hot.”
“Favorite go-to for quality Mexican food in Marin. Super friendly staff and killer margaritas. Mole is bomb and the refried beans are amazing.Kid-friendliness: Good kids menu.”
“This ice cream is to die for! Good: - Good prices on scoops and had a yelp discount - The strawberry and cookies and cream ice cream were the best I'd had in a very long time! Thoughrouly impressed and it was not too sweet and fluffy - Super fun and nice servers - let us have samples too Bad: - Long lines here! - Pretty casual diner ambiance here Overall would come back - the ice cream is super good and satisfied my cravings perfectly.”
“A small local sandwich shop right off the highway with fresh ingredients and soft bread. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and my partner had the turkey sub both hit the spot. If you get the large you will definitely have leftovers. This place will be on our roadtrip stops from now on.”
“The best Mediterranean food I ever had in my life quality flavorful food. Wonderful service! A great experience. The blonde waitress. She's not just beautiful. She's also hospitable. Thank you so much!!!”
“Grew up in San Rafael and have been eating here for years. Sandy and Abby run a customer-centric family business with pops in the back chef’n it up.Nice on a sunny day outside. All curries are bomb, squash and veggies cooked thoroughly. Sauce is thick. Mango sticky rice is always on point. Thai iced tea hits even in summer. Don’t rush them, it’s worth the wait.”
“Darling coffee and boba shop. They roast their own beans and the coffee is delicious! Lena, the owner, is so sweet. Easy off and back on 101 S. Happy to have found this unexpected gem.”
“I love going here with my dad! The food is delicious, but the service could be a little better. Nobody refilled my water and checked in, and you have to go to the front to pay. The pricing is reasonable and the food is good !”
“Coming back from a car show towards the city and happened across this place in SR.Makes me feel like home in the south. Amazing diner food, chicken fried steak was top notch AND you get the Mexican dishes at top quality as well. Coffee was excellent and the staff are super friendly.”
“Great cafe, went here to and from the north coast and it was fantastic! I will definitely stop here again next time I'm in Marin.A heads up though if you park on the street nearby with meters, I had the city parking enforcement ticket me 10 minutes before my meter actually ran out and I had no proof because I used quarters, so either use a credit card or take a photo of your meter...”
“Called in and placed a breakfast order for pick up. Ready in less than 15mins. I love how the eggs in the breakfast sandwiches are freshly scrambled + the people who work there seem to truly enjoy serving customers!”
“When I went there, they had no lines and the churros were only $2.84 for 3 churros. They were very kind to me and quick to serve. I was craving for churros and started searching. Lo and behold, there is a churro restaurant just exclusively churros set aside sandwiches and smoothies but now I know there is a churro place when I am craving for churrosParking: Good luck finding a place to park as their parking lot is a shared lot.”
“I got the Carne Asada “Deluxe” burrito for $15. Burritos be getting pricey everywhere honestly but local joint beats a Chipotle, for me.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ overall taste, was very delicious and it was pretty big, it had a fair portion of meat but wish it had more. The flavors were balanced and savory but it lacked in spice for someone who really enjoys spicy (and it was extra spicy they said). For me it beats something like Chipotle in flavor and price. There’s a 10% discount if you are a local student in the area.”
“Quite literally the BEST customer service I have every experience in my life. The women at the counter was so helpful, kind, and supportive with what I was drinking. Gave me wonderful food suggestions. Overall just a wonderful experience.”
“Was here on Christmas Eve, and the food, service, and ambience couldn’t have been better. Had clay pot dishes, both beef and tofu, assorted nigiri, Dragon roll - all wonderfully fresh, edamame, a shrimp tempura roll, and sake. We we all delighted. Thanks for adding to a beautiful Christmas Eve!”
“I came to this place because I was tracking drums that day and needed a drink. Got a Franklin IPA and it did the job! The staff was friendly, so much so that we ended up coming back for dinner! We had 2 different pizzas and got more drinks! The pizza was amazing! It was hella flavorful, hot and because of that brick over they have, you could taste the freshness! I will be back for more beer and pizza! Thank You for an amazing experience! The band loved it!”

El Lucerito
“Just passed by the El Lucerito Restaurant, and I'll come back when I'm done...I had to make a quick run to Estanzio Defrancesco Escobar's cape factory to drop off the Muleta and Estoque that was used by the bull fighter Manolete when he was gored by El Torro Raton, it's a very special cape and sword, and he's going to have it on display in his shop there on 4th street. The El Lucerito has Amazing food, I only got plain scrambled eggs, they were spectacular. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆”
“Real traditional English pub. Food is quick and tastes like I'm back home in England. Service is super friendly and upbeat. 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a fun, quick drink. Or if you want a nice lunch/dinner! Portions are huge and prices are fair. I'll definitely end up a regular here.”

IKOI SUSHI
“Everything was good with clearly the potential to be great. Maybe the best thing was they were extremely busy, but unfortunately that affected our service and food. They had lots of to go orders happening. Food was very good except we didn't really enjoy the baked scallop salmon. The people are very nice and welcoming. The space is very small, but makes it quite quaint if you like that. I will definitely go back for another experience!”

“Hands-down best burger in Marin. Cooked to perfection to your preference, Golden brown fries every time served with their staple House soup to dip them fries in... Come on man! Right when you walk in this place you feel like you're back in the prime time. Less than five minutes off the 101, some say it's off the beaten path, but this place is right in my backyard and it truly makes you feel right at home. Cordon Bleu, lamb chops, I just don't know what kind of night it's going to be... the burger it is!”

“Hands down the best Hot and Sour soup I’ve had in 10 years. And some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in a while. My favorite place recently closed down, and so I’ve been on the hunt for a new haunt. Long drive for me, but frankly worth the drive.”

“Our server, Erika and she was phenomenal! I got the crab and ship enchilada special and my husband got an emoladas and a braised pork taco combo. It came out reasonably quick ”
“Went with a group of seven for Sunday breakfast. We had a nice table and attentive wait staff. The atmosphere is super casual and relaxed. The coffee is basic, American, over cooked, and weak at premium prices. The eggs Benedict were perfect. Our share for a basic breakfast and coffee with tip was $30. A little rich for my blood, but worth it to share the company of friends.Kid-friendliness: Yes. Noise will go unnoticed. Pretty sure they have highchairs.”
“Arrivederci is back! Once again, the food is delicious. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. We went there last night. The food and service were superb.”
“The Habit Burger in San Rafael offers delicious, juicy burgers with a variety of toppings. Their crispy fries are a must-try, and the service is friendly. The casual atmosphere makes it a great spot for a quick, satisfying meal. Prices are a bit on the higher side but a solid choice for burger lovers.”

“Food is absolutely fantastic!!!! Could eat here over and over. Mixed drinks are very light on the alcohol. Our server wasn't very attentive either. The food makes up for it all though. Soooo ”
“This is hands down my favorite bar... In the world. It might also be the best bar in the world. The cocktails are off the hook, the bartenders are friendly and welcoming and the vibe is perfection.”
