“Highly recommend this hidden gem!
We had a wonderful Father’s Day dinner here, and everything exceeded our expectations. The waitstaff and the friendly girls at the door who seated us were all fantastic—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Everyone took the time to explain the specials and answer questions, which made the experience feel personal and special.
The portions were generous and the food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. As a nice touch, they even took a Polaroid picture of us with their own camera to commemorate the occasion—what a thoughtful gesture!
This was a great dinner overall, and we’ll definitely be back. Perfect spot for a memorable meal with family. Thank you to the whole team!”

“Most expansive variety of matcha from different providences in Japan. I’ve enjoyed the hyper-premium matcha every morning before work. Keeps you awake without any jitters and full of L-theanine. Excellent for health and longevity.”

“I've been going to this place for my lunch for the past 3 and 1/2 years whenever I'm in the area definitely stop by here The customer service is good food is delicious and always hot but one thing I will say is if you want this for a good lunch definitely want to come before noon and after about 1:00 or 2:00 otherwise there is quite a line the Kung Pao chicken is the best. During the week can't speak for the weekend but definitely worth trying The only other place that comes close is lams kitchen in Mill valley”

“Stefano's is our favorite work night pizza place! Thursday us pizza night at our house, and we stop by for quick slices and salad. The food is always delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's also fun to listen to Brazilian Portuguese being spoken. All I can say is "Obregado!"”

“Food was great, local and fresh, and it was served faster than I expected, because it was pretty busy and during Brunch. Great atmosphere, nice and warm in the summer mid morning sun, not too disturbed from the traffic and noise, and the service was good! Definitely coming back again!”

“Good food, good service, and an excellent value. I've been going to this place for over 20 years and the staff know me very well. The salsa bar and fresh chips have always been a nice perk that set its apart from other places which have come and gone. It's always busy around lunchtime and parking lot can packed but they get orders out quickly. I usually get my food to go but dining in is a pretty comfortable experience. They've steadily upgraded the interior over the years and recently got all new tables/chairs.”
“We went hiking in mt tam and randomly came across this place. The chocolate cake was divine. So moist and flavorful. Apparently they only make that one cake and it’s what the whole town buys. The gentleman on the counter was also very helpful.”

“After moving to San Anselmo in 1996, I finally visited M.H. Bread and Butter, drawn in by the crowds. Ms. Jenny, the manager, suggested trying the lemon bread, Queen Aman, raspberry croissants, and 'medium country' bread. Brahim, the owner's brother, highlighted the positives of working there. The area's connections to the Grateful Dead, Metallica, and Huey Lewis and the News and was at one time Bonnie Raite an Santana's residence make it even more special.”

“Barton’s is my go-to morning stop on the way to work. I’m there a lot, and it never disappoints. My regular order is the lox sandwich — about ten bucks and you get a fantastic toasted bagel loaded with all the good stuff. The bagels are consistently excellent, the cream cheese options are all great, and their espresso is top-notch. On top of that, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend if you want a quality bagel and coffee to start your day.”

“I don’t want to ruin this classic San Anselmo business’ income, but in lieu of a website or email address, I’m compelled to leave this public review in hopes that ownership sees it. You guys are over roasting your African beans to a criminal degree. Yirgacheffe and Tz pea berry are such delicate, complex beans, with so many floral / fruity / light flavors, that roasting them within an inch of their lives completely misses their point. Far be it from me to tell someone else how to run their business, but as someone with a deep knowledge of and passion for single origin light roast coffees, you guys shouldn’t do this to your (very expensive) Ethiopian and Tanzanian beans. Dark roast the other stuff. I’m sure most people want that. But please light roast those beans. I’m throwing away the one pound bag of yirgacheffe I bought yesterday, heartbroken at how burnt and undrinkable it is. For reference: V60 / medium ground / tetsu kasuya pour method. Side note: incredibly kind staff, and old school San Anselmo charm. Just burnt beans.”

“The staff at this Subway are awesome. I came in at 9:30pm to order 17 six-inch subs for a student field trip, not realizing the store closed at 10pm (online it said it was open until 1am). Adrienne the girl at the counter was soooo nice to agree to make all the sandwiches, which ended up making her clock out late. She saved the day! The field trip with the kids was a hit and they loved their sandwiches. After I left I realized I accidentally left my credit card in the card reader (tired teacher). Alex F the morning guy kept my card safe for pick up after I got off work. You just don't find kind, honest, and hardworking people like Adrienne and Alex that often anymore.I believe the manager's name is Mr. Sunil. If you read this Sunil, you have two superstar employees working for you! I hope they get some recognition and promotions. They were just wonderful.I highly recommend this Subway to anyone who loves great service, kind people, and delicious food.”

“I went to San Anselmo with my wife and daughter last week during the Argentina (was rooting for Messi) match. The town looked fantastic once on my way back from Olema and so went back there to have lunch. We thought the place would be nice during the summer days and on 3rd July. But we were kind of disappointed at the beginning, as stayed longer after lunch while watching the game on TV (slightly grumpy bar guy was reluctant to turn the tv sound on, but later he demanded for a pretty please and volume was on - he must have had a long day - anyway he was nice afterwards). Then we saw people were showing up after 3pm and later (the town blocks the roads for live music and kids activities, food etc) - by the time the game was ending the restaurant was full of people with locals mostly. I loved their food and dessert too. Next time will try wine (it seems that is good stuff there). Overall a great experience…”

“Love this place! Great atmosphere with some really cool pics of old bands and legends like the rat pack, 2 patios, 1 in the back, and 1 next to parking lot, 2 pool tables, and the bartenders are knowledgeable with drinks. I believe they serve hotdogs (not sure) but you are welcome to bring food and eat it there.”
