“I don’t want to ruin this classic San Anselmo business’ income, but in lieu of a website or email address, I’m compelled to leave this public review in hopes that ownership sees it. You guys are over roasting your African beans to a criminal degree. Yirgacheffe and Tz pea berry are such delicate, complex beans, with so many floral / fruity / light flavors, that roasting them within an inch of their lives completely misses their point. Far be it from me to tell someone else how to run their business, but as someone with a deep knowledge of and passion for single origin light roast coffees, you guys shouldn’t do this to your (very expensive) Ethiopian and Tanzanian beans. Dark roast the other stuff. I’m sure most people want that. But please light roast those beans. I’m throwing away the one pound bag of yirgacheffe I bought yesterday, heartbroken at how burnt and undrinkable it is. For reference: V60 / medium ground / tetsu kasuya pour method. Side note: incredibly kind staff, and old school San Anselmo charm. Just burnt beans.“

“Stopped here on the way from SF to Napa and it was the perfect coffee shop pit stop. They offer a great variety of coffee and tea options, many with a distinct Thai influence. The authentic Thai coffees and teas are especially noteworthy, with beans sourced from Thailand and roasted in-house. In addition to drinks, they also have smoothies, boba, and some food options. The thoughtful Thai decor throughout the space is beautiful and adds a unique charm, and the service was excellent. We ordered the Thai iced coffee and green tea—both were fantastic—but we’ll definitely be stopping again on our next road trip to try their boba.“

“Really high quality food, served fast! Relaxing atmosphere with locals saying hi to each other in passing and casually catching up. Totally enjoyed my breakfast burrito filled with chorizo, potato, etc (as they ran out of the Denver scramble). Flaky tortilla wrapper, toasted nicely, served with a container of salsa. Also had a coffee with 2 shots added, also tasty. I hope I didn't overdo it but I usually find the average American coffee a bit weak.“

It is worth calling out with a woman who works behind the coffee bar, Vickie, is an absolute A+. She really makes the experience what it is and embodies the culture and soul of this place. I usually stop at this Novato location after I get off of a Golden Gate Transit coach from San Francisco, get my coffee, sit at one of the outside tables and relax before calling a LYFT car to go and visit with relatives. We decided to share a piece of frittata and it was so good we got another piece to share and my husband got blueberry banana bread to go. They have a handful of tables inside and out one sidewalk, always full most of the morning and even through out the day. I got a yogurt parfait, and my wife got an avocado toast to go along with some cold brews. Nothing that really blew me away, but the staff was friendly and overall good quality.“

“I love this place! I’ve only been here twice while out on my first bike-packing trip and this is the place to go if you’re in Fairfax. The staff is really nice and they played live music Saturday and Sunday while I was there which really brought up the atmosphere. I had their Americano on Friday and it warmed me up after a cold morning camping. On Saturday I had a longer stay and tried their Iced Mexican Mocha and it was refreshing and and so comforting. I also really enjoyed their breakfast sandwich and whoopie pie while hanging around. Whenever I’m back in the area I’ll be sure to make a stop. It’s a community place where I was able to hang out and chat with folks about my big adventure and share some real space.“

I would later full circle it by becoming a coffee drinker late in my 30s and I went back to get the beans. The rest is magical history. Wow. I get the beans ground for French press and it’s always amazing. It’s the coffee I gift to out of towners. They all love it after one sip. Rock on!“

“This place has been a community bedrock for 20+ years. Always here for us. During covid lock downs, they set up their own food pantry (with the fridge getting electricity from the shop).
