With John as the new owner, it’s exciting to see the tradition and character of this longtime favorite continue. Great atmosphere, friendly people, and that old-school charm you just don’t find at newer places. You can feel the history the moment you walk in. “I was here for my bachelorette for Latino night and OMG !!!!!! It was so much fun!! I was on top of the benches with a girl named Andrea and the way they cheered me on, the love and support I felt - was so amazing!!!!! “I stopped in yesterday after a really long day. I just needed to decompress and enjoy a beer without being bombarded by my beautiful child with a zillion questions. I've driven past what used to be higos place a thousand times. I was a little apprehensive but the second I walked in I was greeted by Andrea. She was friendly and welcoming the beer was cold and the cider crisp. We chatted for a while and her beautiful son came in and chatted a while. It wasn't super busy but man did I enjoy myself. I will definitely be coming back. I bought myself a sweater and it's the comfiest one I own now. Plus I'm supporting local! Definitely come down and enjoy a cold one.
I even got to playy favorite song on the jukebox and sing and dance for a second. 10/10 recommend.

“I had a takeout pizza from this restaurant last night first of all the customer service was absolutely excellent. The person that answered the phone had a really pleasant customer focused manner , nothing was too much trouble and he was so polite. The pizza was absolutely amazing , I hate anything that is too heavy and it was so light and lovely , the ingredients tasted extremely fresh , I would 100% recommend this place based upon my first experience and I will be back thanks so much 🥰“

“Don't drink, so I ordered a diet Soda. The bartender warned me that he didn't know who's diet it was but that it wasn't that good. He was being nice to what ever it was I had. Disgusting,Horrible diet soda. Everything else was great. Except a Niners glass....Probably because of my Seahawks Shirt.“

“Located at The Veranda in Concord, the restaurant has a bright, clean, and upscale setting.

We ordered the Firecracker Shrimp, Maui Salmon, and Lobster Garlic Noodles. All three dishes were nicely presented and tasted good. We especially enjoyed the Lobster Garlic Noodles, which were pretty flavorful.

Overall, a nice dining experience. We’ll definitely come back to try some of the other interesting items on the menu!“

“We stopped by this bar while in the area and it was a pleasant surprise. The drinks, the food were all top notch! My favorite was the Shrimp tacos and the whiskey flight. I got the whiskey flight named eagle rare off the menu which was pretty nice to sip as we all sat by the fireplace outside. Hops & Scotch has both indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of parking spots around the surrounding area. The staff was awesome and friendly will definitely come here again whenever we are in the area.“

“Been coming here almost regularly once a week for the last 4.5 years or so. Probably now one of my most favorite Japanese restaurants.
They have an extensive menu but on top of that, the portions are big. Like the price may be a bit high but with the amount of food they give you, it makes sense. My favorite roll has to be their Lion King roll. Outside of that the Saba Shioyaki has to be one of my favorites.
It's so good. Their gyoza is also really good.

Also, their service is amazing. The waitresses and waiters are all super nice and incredible. Please be patient when things get busy but on the off hours, they're super friendly.
The inside ambiance is your average restaurant. Not too loud, not too quiet. However, fair warning if you're seated outside, passing vehicles and motorcyclists may get really loud. I just tend to prefer sitting inside.
But definitely check out this place, I love it.“

He 100% made these 2 Texans feel welcomed. A few other regulars were too kind and fun as well!! We really enjoyed this place.
