“What a great piece of local history! This bar has been around for more than 153 years and clearly knows how to do things right. With John as the new owner, it’s exciting to see the tradition and character of this longtime favorite continue. Great atmosphere, friendly people, and that old-school charm you just don’t find at newer places. You can feel the history the moment you walk in. Definitely a place worth visiting and supporting, I’m looking forward to coming back!”

“Beautifully decorated traditional Italian restaurant. Great light lunch with a simple Verandah Salads and an added grilled prawns. Portion of salads were unexpectedly big and the grilled prawns excellently cooked. Scampi e Pancrtta grilled prawn wrapped with pancetta great dish.”

“Moved out of town and was just thinking about this place. One of the few things I miss from California. Best lattes especially their chai lattes oh just amazing!”

“I love that there are plenty of options and they're very knowledgeable about their wine selection. Indoor and outdoor seating, couches and tables, and themed nights for discounts and events. The best thing here is that it feels safe. Anyone is welcome but it feels like a really safe space for women. I also love that you can order food to be delivered and there's often food trucks outside as well.”

“What an Absolutely Delicious and Lovely dining experience. Every dish we ordered was truly Exceptional. We focused on ordering a variety of tapas and cocktails suggested by our wonderful server Amy, and she hit a home run with every recommendation. Truly better than any Spanish or Latin restaurant we’ve dined at in SF, San Ramon, Danville, and Walnut Creek. Loved the atmosphere in historic downtown Clayton too. “I grew up in Clayton in the early 70’s and now live in the Central Valley. Whenever I go to Concord I pay a visit to Canesa’s for a fantastic sandwich. There is no sandwich shop like them! Truly Brooklyn authentic!”

“Visited Munchy’s since it was such a hot day yesterday! My first time in this cute little cafe. The girl who served us I think her name is Tirzah (that’s what is on the receipt) she was super nice and outgoing. I ordered the taro milk tea with almond milk (never had the option to chose milk before) with lychee jelly and it was so good! My husband ordered the Mint Mojito which was so refreshing! Ordered 2 Bahn mi’s to go and man! They were delicious!!! We are not from this area but will come back next time we are in the area!”

“Love having Papa Murphy's in my neighborhood. The staff typically have been super consistent with my orders and they always save the day with dinner for our family once every 2 weeks or so. Pro Tip: Convection Bake at 440 for 7 minutes and then, remove the baking tray and bake for 4 more minutes. Great value!”

“My son and I went there, tonight. Generous portions, and made me a Chicken Chimichanga, even though it’s not current menu. The flavor was great, and the chicken very tender. I liked the addition of the radishes and carrots on the side. (Slightly pickled) Fast service and friendly, too. We will go back.”

“I've visited this location 2 or 3 times a week for the past 4 months. Not everyone here greets you when you walk in, and some who do seem to do it begrudgingly. But two employees, Cici and Ezzy, always greet me with warm smiles and the hospitality you'd expect from seasoned food service workers.

Last week I came in to order a cake. I'd never ordered one before and wasn't sure what I was looking for. As soon as I asked how the process worked, Cici jumped in and was very enthusiastic to help me out. You can tell she loves making cakes. She walked me through every part of the order, explained all of the options available, and was happy to answer all of my questions about customizations and details. I left knowing exactly what I was getting.

And that isn't just how they treat me, either. I've watched how Cici and Ezzy interact with other customers, and everyone leaves with a genuine smile. Thank you for the great experience!”

“Just found out this place exists. Can’t wait To bring my kid over and have him choose ice cream. They have a great selection on soft serve and regular ice cream. Let’s not talk about coffee. Yolo made a latte for me. That was amazing. Her personality was amazing. Definitely coming back to this place. Has a lot of character to walk inside. Great place to visit if you’re in the East Bay or Clayton.”
