I grew up in Clayton in the early 70’s and now live in the Central Valley. Whenever I go to Concord I pay a visit to Canesa’s for a fantastic sandwich. There is no sandwich shop like them! Truly Brooklyn authentic!
I stopped by this deli, after it was recommended to me. There was a mix up with my order and the young lady at the window was very nice and she corrected my order with no questions asked. The food was fresh, delicious and worth the wait. Great customer service. They have a few tables outside, it was a beautiful day so it was nice. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good local spot to get a sandwich!
Amazing sub. Excellent service. The bread was perfect and the ingredients were fresh. The Gravesend hit the spot after a long hike. This place reminded me of being back home with family on the east coast. Love this place!

It's a small shop with big flavor, and the subs are huge, well worth the money.
