“If you're looking for good, authentic, Desi food in Walnut Creek, look no further than Methi! We tried their Chicken Tikka Masala (extra spicy), Veg Samosas, Onion Bhaji, and their Mango Pickle, along with Garlic Naan. Everything was spot on!
If you're vegetarian, they also have plenty of vegetarian options so definitely give it a try. I'm not sure if I spoke to the owner over the phone but the gentleman who picked up was super helpful and friendly!
10/10 would recommend if you're in the area and craving Desi food!”
“A beautiful little gem in downtown Walnut Creek. The food and drinks were great and the servers could not have been more friendly and patient. Sit in the garden if you can. They have heaters!”
“Tatsu Sushi is hands down my favorite sushi spot in the Bay Area. My brother and I have been coming here for a while now, and it never disappoints. The quality is always top-notch—fresh fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and well-balanced flavors in every bite. It’s the kind of place where you can taste the care that goes into each roll.
On top of that, the prices are more than fair, especially considering the quality. But what really makes Tatsu stand out are the little extras. The free gyoza and miso soup? That’s just an unbeatable touch. It’s rare to find a place that goes the extra mile like that, and it’s one of the many reasons we keep coming back.
The only downside? Word is getting out. It used to feel like our little secret sushi spot, but now more people are catching on. While I’m happy to see them getting the recognition they deserve, it does mean we might have to wait a little longer for a table. Even so, it’s always worth it. My brother and I will keep coming back for as long as they’re around.”
“It was our first time here, and we loved everything we tried. We were seated right away later on a Friday night (8pm) and ordered roti and chicken satay for apps, and Tom Yum noodle soup, Beef noodle soup, yellow curry and a pad thai...and they were all good! I asked for medium spicey for the tom yum noodle soup and regretted it a bit so probably will order mild next time. The beef noodle soup had very tender beef, and the pad thai had great flavor.
Also ordered the mango sticky rice for dessert, and we all enjoyed it.
Parking is metered in the lot but readily available.”

“It was great to celebrate a birthday dinner with family. The food was amazing, as was the staff. This has become my favorite place to take people in the East Bay by far. Had a friend reach out from Japan and say all he can think about is the Chicken Parm!”
“I attended a surprise party this weekend at the Library Social Club. It was the perfect place for this intimate and cozy event. The service was incredible and the Owner even had a playlist created to fit the style of the birthday boy. I love this tailored customer service which created a unique and memorable experience”

“I only have great things to say about my experience. I go there every other week. Gnocchi is delicious soft and you choose the sauces. The square pepperoni pizza with melted burrata and drizzle of honey is so good. My favorite is the good old fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Their focaccia bread is made right there. This is the best restaurant to go with family, have a great meal at right price.”
“Excellent food. I eat out a lot and I’ve tried many Thai restaurants in my life. This one is my favorite and the wait staff is awesome. Took family and friends here a few times already. Discovered them over a year ago.”
“I almost hate to share my review, I want to keep this place all to myself! Every aspect of our second experience was 5 Star! This is a hidden little gem north of Ygnacio on Broadway, away from the HELL which is downtown Walnut Creek! Plenty of close parking, it’s really nice and quiet at this end of town. Great for romantic dinners or dates. Great bar, big tv’s if you choose! It’s a winner!”
“Had the Brussels sprouts, polpa, cacio e pepe and a pinsa with broccoli and spicy sausage (forgot name)
We’ve been traveling yearly to Italy for over 15 years and sometimes twice a year.
The polpo rivals the one I had in santa margherita ligure and forte de Marmi. The cacio was as good as in Rome and the Brussels sprouts were amazing. I prefer Napoli pizza but the pinsa crust was amazing. Recommend”

“Celebrated a graduation, and I absolutely loved it here. I'm vegetarian so I can't speak to the meat but others in my party had nothing bad to say about it at all. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere... I'd definitely go back. The staff is so attentive and honest and deserving of beyond a normal tip. One guest dropped a hundred dollar bill near her seat, and the waiter brought it to her in the way out! Integrity at its finest. A definite must go!”
“George's Giant Hamburger? More like George's Genius Hamburger! This place nails it with their menu—tons of choices, but I went for the classic hamburger, and it was a home run. Juicy, packed with flavor, and exactly what you'd want when you're craving a great burger. My son devoured his, and my partner couldn’t stop raving about the beef bulgogi plate (yes, bulgogi at a burger joint—trust me, it's a win). The staff? Super friendly and on top of everything. I’m already plotting my return for the loco moco. If you haven’t been, what are you even doing?”
“Stopped by here before work to get some donuts. I got the Ube and red velvet peppermint pretzel donuts. They both were amazing. The peppermint donut has actual peppermint candy pieces crumbled on top which made them sticky. The peppermint was very subtle not overpowering.”

“You have to come and check out this sweet place food, drinks , coffee is fresh and beyond delicious. One of the most amazing things in Prologue is the owner and their stuff so kind and welcoming.
Vegetarian options: Delicious
Parking: Library parking there is free side and paid side as well”
“The food was incredible. I wanted to order almost everything on the menu. So will have to come back at least couple more times to try everything to look good and we couldn’t order in one night. Our old fashion cocktail and blackberry Mojito were perfect. And I can’t say enough about considerate, professional service.”

“I’ve enjoyed visiting Sunrise Bistro for breakfast. The convenient parking and manageable wait times make it a hassle-free spot for breakfast or brunch. I’ve tried a few dishes, like the carnitas and eggs, but my favorite by far is the smoked brisket and hash, which has become my go-to order. The only area for improvement would be the coffee. Better quality coffee and fresh creamer would really elevate the breakfast experience. Overall, it’s a nice place to dine in for breakfast or brunch.”

“It’s always a lovely time at Tellus coffee! The creative and delicious food and drinks, warm and inviting ambiance (that plant wall just makes me happy) and the super-kind and efficient baristas are the best! Thanks to owner Janae for all her hard work making Tellus a Walnut Creek fave!”
“Delicious dumplings in downtown WC- we are so lucky to have you! Showed up for dinner on a Saturday night. I worried with the line of people waiting but we were seated about 5 mins after putting our names on the list. We were a party of 2. So many dumplings to choose from. We got the ginger & scallion noodles, pan fried pork buns, pork won tons. All were delicious and perfect amount of food for 2 people. The service was incredibly quick and staff were friendly. We will be back!”
“This place has grown on me. At first, I wasn’t convinced, but maybe their boba has become better or more consistent over time. It’s now a dependable place to go if you’re nearby and looking for a boba! Doesn’t beat my absolute favourite, but it’s consistent and good. Plus, service was nice - one time my child was asleep in the car and they were able to bring out the boba in the parking lot (I found a spot right infront of the door, but still!). I appreciated that.”
“Wonderful staff, food is fresh and delicious. Consistent quality and warmth of environment. - Don Dikun”

“Lunch buffet is fantastic. Great price and selection. I tried everything and all are delicious. The complimentary chai is a great bonus. Will definitely come back and recommend the place to friends and family too!
Also ordered takeout a few times too. The popular dish like butter chicken, tikki masala, saag paneer are all well made!”
“I was looking for sushi, I decided to go here and I was fascinated, excellent service and they have a variety and very fresh. I recommend that you make a reservation. The tables are tight, I think it would not be comfortable for large groups. Obviously I will return ??
* I'm putting up photos of the dishes I tried.
** I forgot to take a photo of the grilled octopus but it is delicious.”
“I was not expecting much from Shadowbrook Winery in Walnut Creek.
We avoid dining out Friday-Saturday and they are only open Thursday-Sunday.
We live very close to this winery (2000 feet!), but we had heard nothing about it, and put off trying it for years.
I expected a small winery with mediocre to poor wines with even worse placeholder food.
We were quite pleasantly surprised by the wine, food, service and view. The wines were all good and the food was really excellent as was the service and view.
We love a good charcuterie, and their full charcuterie was fantastic, and plenty for two. There were five cheeses, all delicious (one was a 3yo gouda), four meats, served along with plenty of great olives, cornichons and candied pecans. After polishing this off (with several glasses of wine) we did not have room for dinner, and instead finished off with wonderful prime rib sliders followed by a trio of sorbet. Neither of us was fond of the amaretto, but the cherry and chocolate were excellent. The menu is not huge, but there were several entrees we want to try on future visits (sea bass, rack of lamb, pork chop).
The service and ambiance (including the view of the winery, hills, cows, vultures, and morning doves) added to our experience. Jeff, our server, was terrific and made great recommendations. The cost of the wine flights seemed crazy high to me. Instead, get lots of wine by the glass…twice as much wine for the almost the same price.
They are only open Thursday through Sunday. Parking and seating are limited so they say “by appointment only” which means reservations are really required. Yelp and their website did not make it really clear how to make a dinner reservation, but going directly to Open Table worked great.”
“Vanessa’s Bistro is hands down my favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek. I like to get out and try new places but yet I always find myself coming back to VB2 for amazing food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere. It’s my favorite place to take friends that have never tried it. If you want to impress in a casual way it’s perfect for a first date or girls night out too. Try the Claypot Rice Or Prawns with mango and garlic butter noodles! Potstickers Chicken rolls All of it!”
“We tried out Fish Amritsari, chicken tikka Masala, and Naan. All the items were tasty! The service is first rate and the ambience is pleasant. We will go there again soon.”
Takeout Restaurants
“Quick delicious General spicy Chicken. Wonderful texture & super hot fresh food. Simple small business in Palos Verde strip mall. I will be back! Food was ready in 10 minutes or so! Not greasy. Quality chicken and for $17.52 I got a huge portion of chicken and a small rice. Lunch specials are $12.95-13.95 Monday-Friday. Thanks Kung Fu Kitchen!
Parking: Lots of free parking. I even charged my EV at the charging station in front of Rite Aid.”
“A hidden gem in Walnut Creek and an absolute must-try for Thai food lovers! After trying almost every Thai spot in the Bay Area, this one stands out as the best, hands down. The flavors are vibrant, perfectly balanced, and every dish we tried was a home run.
The service was just as amazing, the waitress was so warm and welcoming, and the chef personally came out to check on us, which added such a thoughtful touch to the experience. Little details like that truly set this place apart.
Don’t miss the Pad Thai, it’s hands-down the best I’ve ever had. The sweet and sour pineapple tofu dish was another standout, with a perfect blend of tangy and sweet flavors.
They even boxed up our leftovers for us, which was the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience. This place has won me over, and I’ll definitely be back often. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and try this spot—you’ll be hooked!”
“We’ve been members for maybe 6 years and we just love Buon Vino it is a great place to hang out and drink some delicious wine. The atmosphere is always great. We love the new location and all the fun events they come up with. Always our place to go to with my husband and great spot for girls ”
“We order 20 portions of kebabs and rice, everything was so tasty and delicious!
Fresh, clean, tasty!
Highly recommended!
Thank you!”
“Great service delicious food cozy atmosphere. Awesome Happy Hour 👍👍👍👍👍”

“On one of my walks I passed by the restaurant and it opened my curiosity. I brought a friend for lunch today, to say the least, it was a very enjoyable experience, the food was excellent and very tasty, great atmosphere, the workers attentive and polite, as we were new they suggested what to eat, their choices were great. Welcome to Walnut Creek.”
“House of Sake in Walnut Creek is an absolute comfort spot with phenomenal quality sushi! Every dish we tried was a delightful experience. The Spicy Holly Roll stood out with its bold, smoky flavors and scrumptious layers—an absolute must-try. The Godzilla Roll was a petite masterpiece, with a beautifully crafted tempura shell that was perfectly crisp and evenly dispersed.
The Cherry Blossom Roll was another highlight, boasting a clean, fresh flavor and a stunning presentation that was almost too pretty to eat. We also enjoyed the Negihama Cut Roll (yellowtail and green onion) and the New Orleans Roll (spicy tuna cut roll)—both incredibly fresh and satisfying. The creative names for these simple yet perfectly executed rolls added a fun touch to the meal.
Every bite hit the spot, and the attention to detail in both flavor and presentation is second to none. Highly recommend House of Sake for anyone seeking exceptional sushi and a memorable dining experience!”
“This is by far the worst Mexican food ever! I got a Combo Plate with a Taco and Enchilada...The Taco shell fell apart in 1 bite, and was one of those prepackaged shells...The Enchilada was the worst ever, the blood red sauce was definitely from a can with 0 flavor! The grilled chicken was super dry with No Flavor or texture at all! I also got a Quesadilla to go, with watered down sour cream and guacamole from a package....No flavor, and again dry chicken and this time a super greasy tortilla. I GUARANTEE this is the worst Mexican Food Ever! The rice was dry with 0 flavor and the beans were watered down....Do yourself a favor, and Do Not Go Here Ever! And to top it off I'm certain the owners know they are selling crap, they are just looking to cut costs....Nothing fresh, nothing good at all! Avoid at all costs....There is no way they will stay in business unless they make significant changes ASAP! Like TOMORROW! Perfectly hideous food, if you want to call it that!”
“Fabulous Food, Drinks and Ambiance! Love this place!!! Five Stars!!!”

“The best premium frozen yogurt in town!! 🍦 My favorite is the classic chocolate vanilla swirl—it takes me right back to my childhood! 🥰 The owners, Heather and Aron, are the absolute sweetest, and they always create such a welcoming and fun atmosphere no matter the time of day. If you haven't been to Yogurt Spot yet, you’re missing out. Couldn't recommend it more!”
“Step into the enchanting ambiance of this bar where every sip is a journey of flavor. With an array of amazing cocktails crafted to perfection, you'll be spellbound by the mixologist's expertise. And as if the drinks weren't enticing enough, the staff here are the epitome of charm and allure, making every visit a delight for the senses.”
“The restaurant is the most authentic and upscale Mexican cuisine in California, and you would never know it. I don't write lengthy reviews, but to summarize: - The food is excellent - The drinks are even better! - The staff is kind and extremely polite/professional (despite what some of the haters say below - I don't have skin in the game here so trust me when I say they are lying). - And they play GREAT live music and carry a very fun, safe, and upscale vibe. Tell your friends about it, because all small businesses struggle and this is one I would personally love to see hit 4 stars+ on Yelp and more importantly bring a sense of cultural awareness to one of the best communities in the Bay Area (WC). Love,”
“My new favorite ice cream place in Walnut Creek! I've been here 5 times now, and have loved all the flavors I've tried - and there are so many to choose from! I've brought friends here who have also become big fans. Very fair prices, free samples, and high quality ice cream with fresh ingredients. Service has usually been good and efficient.
I recommend these flavors:
-Banana Cream Pie
-Monkey Business
-Ooohh Dough
-Taro
You can't really go wrong, so try some samples and treat yourself! The waffle cones and waffle bowls were tasty, too.”
“Very good drinks & the chicken wings so tasty also the waitress very friendly”

“I went on Tuesday, March 14th, for my bday, and it was super delicious. The ribeye was cooked medium rare like I asked and seasoned perfectly. Honestly, it's the best steak I've ever eaten. The loaded garlic potatoes are a must. The shrimp was tender and juicy. The Lobster Mac n' Cheese was a 7/10, in my opinion. The service was great. For dessert, I recommend the Crème Brûlée. I heard good things about their Sweet Potato Casserole while dining in. Overall, it was one of the best dinner experiences I've had at a restaurant.”
“The food was absolutely incredible and very well prepared. The service however was less than satisfactory. The Server walked up after an "almost" irritating wait and dropped off water and said she would be back. After another now irritating wait, she comes back and says, "What do you want for dinner?" We both said, can we start with a drink? So, orders placed, drinks come just as it starts to become noticeably irritating, and she apologizes for the delay. The food arrives and is absolutely amazing. She checks back after dinner to see if we want anything else and then presents the check. We give her a give card with a very large balance which has been successfully used at two other nice restaurants recently. She comes back and says the card doesn't work and usually doesn't work for them as their systems are old and not up to date. Don't know if we will return, but the Chilean sea bass and the Steak Frites were amazing.”

“First class Dim Sum spot, slightly off of the beaten path for those of us who live closer to the coast. Definitely worth the drive, creek house dim sum restaurant offers top-notch dim sum including Shumai, Ha Gao, fried and baked pork buns, along with some Cantonese favorites like chicken legs and flat noodles. I'd recommend this place all the seeking to explore the world of dim sum.
TIP: buy a bottle of their house made hot sauce. It is to die for
Vegetarian options: They serve vegetarians. And all vegetarians should be cooked until crispy and then eaten by meat lovers. Vegetarians are delicious.”

“A delightful gem for espresso/cappuccino and pastry. This reminds me of some of the better patisseries in Paris.
I had seen a brief posting and then tried to find the place - but no web searches could find this "new pastry shop in Walnut Creek."
This place is well worth looking for.
We shared a croissant, almond croissant and berry galette.
All were very very good: delicate and freshly baked.
Marvel has comfortable seating and polished ambience that temps you to hang around.”
