“We decided to try Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar after reading about it online. We arrived in the mid-to-late afternoon without a reservation and were fortunate to get an indoor table before the dinner rush.

We started with a Cacio e Pepe Biscuit and wine. I wanted to explore their Spanish wine selection, so I tried all three options in 3 oz pours. We also shared the Beet Salad, made with golden beets, quinoa, and sherry vinaigrette, and the Ceviche Tostadas with mahi-mahi, mango salsa, and avocado. Both were delicious, although my wife managed to claim the third tostada!

For our main courses, we ordered the Paella and Linguine Gamberi. The paella, with saffron rice, seafood, chorizo, and shrimp, was particularly flavorful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the linguine as well. Despite being quite full, we couldn't resist the Dessert for Two, featuring key lime pie and three other small desserts. We managed to sample everything, although finishing it all was another matter!

Service was excellent throughout our visit. Our server was attentive, kept our wine glasses filled, and made sure we never waited long between orders. Other staff members promptly cleared our table after each course.

The indoor dining area was comfortable, and the outdoor garden seating looked beautiful and relaxing. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'd happily return.“

“My husband, me and our pup stopped in for a late lunch yesterday. We dined on Sipeos lovely patio. We shared a mezze plate and the tofu burger. We choose the roasted red pepper romesco sauce and the charred eggplant for our mezze platter. Both dips were amazingly delicious. The grilled tofu burger was excellent. The food, service and drinks at Sipeos are superb. There are no shortages of fabulous restaurants in downtown Walnut Creek but this one is at the top of our list as a favorite and we will be returning over and over again. Highly recommend it.“

“First off the staff was smiling, attentive and not on their phones. The latte was perfection frothed, the espresso was delicious as was the little biscotti that was served with it. Facility was clean, moderately busy, I was able to get a table right away. I watched the staff and they were all so engaged in their work and the guests. Food was piping hot, perfectly seasoned. Eggs were poached perfect, sauce was not only not broken but seasoned slightly with Paprika for color. The pastry counter was spotless and their offered look fresh and inviting. Kudos to this place all around!! Its close to the freeway and parking is easy peasy.“

“Delicious quick Beef/Lamb Gyro at 9:30 pm on a Monday night. No wait, energetic cashier with a good sense of humor who offered cold water while I waited. Food came in 2-3 minutes. Flavorful meat, good bread, delicious sauce. The fries inside the Gyro weren’t fresh but it was late in the evening and their lukewarm state did not detract. Terrific fast food. Easy parking right in front.“

“went to Havana with my friends and had such an amazing experience! Right off the bat, our hostess Carla was so inviting, friendly, and welcoming. She immediately set the tone for a great night.

Our waitress Patty was soooo kind, friendly, and warm. She made us feel so comfortable and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. Our meal was delicious, and the mojitos were SO good! Everything from the food and drinks to the service made for such an awesome experience.

“Such delicious food! The Thai tea is the best I've ever had. We got a table as soon as we got there, they took our order super fast and our food was out in less than ten minutes.

The egg rolls were super crispy and flavorful, and the spring rolls were very fresh. We got the #13 beef pho, and between three people it was plenty of food with the two roll dishes.

The broth with all of the sauces on the side was amazing. The quality and quantity of noodles was excellent for the price. I would definitely go back, especially for the Thai tea.“

“Really solid dumpling spot in downtown Walnut Creek. Dumpling Hours has more of a casual, old-school local restaurant vibe, which I personally liked. It is not the kind of place that feels super fancy or overly polished, but that actually made it feel more authentic and comfortable to me.

The food was the best part. The xiao long bao were juicy and flavorful, and I really enjoyed the larger dumplings as well. They were filling without feeling too heavy, and they had that satisfying handmade dumpling texture. One dish that stood out more than I expected was the wood ear mushroom salad. It was fresh, light, and had a nice texture that balanced really well with the dumplings.

Service was pretty typical for a busy dim sum-style restaurant: straightforward, quick, and not overly chatty, but totally fine for the type of place it is. I actually don’t mind that when the food comes out hot and the meal moves smoothly.

Overall, I liked the local feel of the restaurant and would definitely come back when I’m in the mood for xiao long bao and dumplings. It is a nice option to have in Walnut Creek, especially if you want something casual, comforting, and different from the usual downtown restaurant choices.“

My husband and I love walking here for lunch: He usually gets a burrito and I go between enchiladas and a breakfast burrito (which is offered ALL DAY!). There are so many meat choices! They throw in a bowl of chips and unlimited access to their salsa bar. I also enjoy their aqua fresca or horchata on occasion.

You can eat indoors or outdoors (both covered and sunny tables), or take your food to go.“

“I had a craving for a good old fashioned Chinese lunch special. You know the ones that include maybe some soup if you're lucky rice and one entree. I saw this place when I had a few minutes to myself. I went in and ordered not expecting much but it was absolutely delicious! The soup was hot and sour soup which is one of my favorites. It was incredibly well done and then I had kung pao shrimp with stir fried rice. The rice was okay. Nothing special but my God the kung pao shrimp? The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the vegetables were crisp tender and the sauce was spicy enough to catch your attention without burning out your stomach or your throat“

“My daughter and I had dinner here tonight. It's a cozy place, very clean, tables well spaced and the service is excellent. We had chicken and lamb kabobs. Went in... love the fact that they are willing to if they can customize food. I happen to like something that is normally very spicy and hurts my stomach. “Amazing, authentic Sichuan food. I lived in Southeast Asia for 6 years, so I have high standards for authentic Asian cuisine, and this place delivers. They'll happily cater the spice level to your tolerance, so don't be afraid to ask.

Standout dishes: the Sichuan crispy beef (perfectly balanced, crispy exterior with that signature numbing heat), orange and sesame chicken (not the overly sweet, fake Americanized version, real depth of flavor - umami), and the chow fun with beef (silky noodles, well-balanced wok hei or wok char).

Everything here tastes genuinely authentic, not watered down for Western palates. Highly recommend.“
