“I was really impressed and honestly my expectations weren't that high walking in. The wine list had options you don't see everywhere and the bartender actually knew how to talk about each one. My friend ordered the burrata and I got the steak frites, both came out fast and cooked perfectly. I'm picky about steak and this one was genuinely good, juicy and seasoned well. The whole vibe was relaxed too, not pretentious like some places around here. We ended up staying way longer than we planned just because it felt so comfortable. I'll definitely be coming back and already told a few people they have to try it.“

“This is my first time to dine-in. Plenty of parking on weekdays. Waiting and checking in process is on a tablet, make everything easy.

Their lion king is still the same tasty as some years ago. The only thing not getting 5 stars is the A5 Wagu special dish. The wagu is too thin like ham.... it is not worth to try.“

“Really solid dumpling spot in downtown Walnut Creek. Dumpling Hours has more of a casual, old-school local restaurant vibe, which I personally liked. It is not the kind of place that feels super fancy or overly polished, but that actually made it feel more authentic and comfortable to me.

The food was the best part. The xiao long bao were juicy and flavorful, and I really enjoyed the larger dumplings as well. They were filling without feeling too heavy, and they had that satisfying handmade dumpling texture. One dish that stood out more than I expected was the wood ear mushroom salad. It was fresh, light, and had a nice texture that balanced really well with the dumplings.

Service was pretty typical for a busy dim sum-style restaurant: straightforward, quick, and not overly chatty, but totally fine for the type of place it is. I actually don’t mind that when the food comes out hot and the meal moves smoothly.

Overall, I liked the local feel of the restaurant and would definitely come back when I’m in the mood for xiao long bao and dumplings. It is a nice option to have in Walnut Creek, especially if you want something casual, comforting, and different from the usual downtown restaurant choices.“

My husband and I love walking here for lunch: He usually gets a burrito and I go between enchiladas and a breakfast burrito (which is offered ALL DAY!). There are so many meat choices! They throw in a bowl of chips and unlimited access to their salsa bar. I also enjoy their aqua fresca or horchata on occasion.

You can eat indoors or outdoors (both covered and sunny tables), or take your food to go.“

“My daughter and I had dinner here tonight. It's a cozy place, very clean, tables well spaced and the service is excellent. We had chicken and lamb kabobs. The meat was nicely spiced, flavorful not hot and cooked to perfection, moist and delicious. We also had the eggplant appetizer and will be ordering that again for sure on our next visit!“

“Shawdowbrook is an absolute gem. The wine, food, scenery, grounds, building and staff are all first rate. Kevin always seems to be our wine guide and he is awesome. He is friendly and very knowledgeable about the products. He always addresses us by name, so we feel so comfortable going to the winery. All of this and we never have to even get on the freeway.“

They were so helpful walking me through the menu and making recommendations, and because of them I tried the Chicken Souvlaki Pita for the first time. “I had a craving for a good old fashioned Chinese lunch special. You know the ones that include maybe some soup if you're lucky rice and one entree. I saw this place when I had a few minutes to myself. I went in and ordered not expecting much but it was absolutely delicious! The soup was hot and sour soup which is one of my favorites. It was incredibly well done and then I had kung pao shrimp with stir fried rice. The rice was okay. Nothing special but my God the kung pao shrimp? The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the vegetables were crisp tender and the sauce was spicy enough to catch your attention without burning out your stomach or your throat“

I can't think of a place that prepares their fried foods as great as them. If you're unsure what to order, I highly recommend their Honey Walnut Prawns and their Crispy Spicy Beef.

They also have a wonderful lunch special and a wide variety of options on their menu. Their food is delicious and it's a great place if you're looking to get a quick meal during your lunch break. They also package their to-go food well. I'm never concerned that food will spill or leak on my drive back home. They are located in a great spot that has plenty of parking around the restaurant. They also have dim sum and soup dumplings!“

“We are lucky to have such a wonderful Thai restaurant in our backyard. And I am so excited that they’ve added Khao Soi on the menu. Khao Soi is a chicken noodle specialty from Chiang Mai. I had it today and it was delicious and so authentic.“
