“Nice Mexican restaurant in Walnut Creek. The restaurant opens at 10:00. I ordered at the cashier Chilaquiles Verdes, a plate that comes with rice, beans, crema on the plate with a green savory sauce mixed together with crispy tortilla chips and an over easy egg right on top, you can add meat for extra price if you like, the tortillas were in point, not soggy and you can feel the crunch on every bite. I’m glad I ordered Al pastor taco, a marinated pork in adobo with smoking, tender, sweet, crackling thinly slices overflowing two tortillas. The place has a help yourself salsa bar with fresh tortilla chips and several sauces to choose from. The prices are most affordable with a well kept area with seating outside.“
“The food was good. There was a mixup with our table. The people at our table hadn't left yet. We ordered in the bar, but before our food showed up, our table was ready. The service was slow, but great when it happened. We all liked our food. The noise level was very loud.“
“Wife and I had lunch here today. Was pretty busy with a mix of shoppers and construction workers. I got the salsa verde plate and wife got the carne wet burrito. They have a salsa bar, which we like, but you ask for chips. Food came out fast and it was tasty. Wife's wet burrito looked great: had red sauce and a lot of pico de gallo on top, which I've never seen before. My salsa verde was well seasoned. Self serve soda machine too. All in all, good choice for lunch.“
“As its name suggests, 5 Tacos & Beers offers a range of tacos, drinks, and great fare. It's a popular brunch spot for friends and family to gather together over good contemporary Mexican food. So when my friends came to visit me in town, I suggested that we go there. The weather was gorgeous that weekend, and I made a reservation the day before to dine on the outdoor patio. But when we got there the day of with our reservation, I was told that there was no room in the patio. Alright, we could roll with it. So we waited for the next table to open up. Ten minutes later, we were seated. The servers were attentive, and we ordered chips, salsa, and guacamole to start. The guacamole was creamy and smooth, a delicious blend of avocado, cilantro, onion, tomato, salt, and lime juice. The chips were light, and the salsas had nice flavorful kicks. I ordered a Mexican scramble with potatoes and two slices of sourdough bread. When it arrived, I had to admire the presentation. An egg scramble and potatoes with a side of toast resting on a nice serving board--that is food served with flair. The eggs were moist and fluffy, and the cilantro, onion, tomato, peppers, and cheese were scrambled in well. I loved the tender, juicy crunch of each bite. The potatoes were soft and hearty, lightly salted and spiced with herbs. I also enjoyed the lightly toasted and buttered sourdough. The food was delicious and we had a good time. The next time I have family and friends in town, 5 Tacos & Beers is certainly a place we would have brunch at again.“
“Jose is the guy. Drinks are very well made, tasty. service was top notch. Jose fue muy amable. Habia un toro mecanico que puso el ambiente bien machin. Der Mann ist echt cool. Die leute werden lustig haben. Die Cantaritos sind meine lieblingsgetränk. J'adore le restaurant. grazie e arrivederci“
“Excellent service! I recommend going during the afternoon, that's when the best staff is there. The food is delicous and fresh. I recommend going on tuesday since they have the taco tuesday special where you get 3 tacos for $10 or theres the happy hour every day from 3-6 pm that also have the 3 for $10 dollars and other food plates for 10 dollars! The ambience is nice as well, the bar also offers a good variety. They also have free chips and salsa if you ask!!. They're tacos are also authentic and you can tell that the restuarant was made to show people the actual meaning of mexican food.“
“I'm not going to compare this to Chipotle because that would be a mistake. I will say however that if you want some quick Mexican food that taste reasonably great definitely go here. we had the queso dip which was actually really good. However, the chips were very salty. Additionally, I got the chicken bowl and they really pilot on with vegetables and lots of rice with a minimum amount of chicken.“
“Tl:dr Food here is good but for the price they do not include chips (which to me is standard at a taqueria) Clean, fast.Full review-----Was craving enchiladas when I was a t whole foods and decided to try this place.I ordered on Doordash, which made it super easy. The estimated time was 10-20 minutes and the listed price range was also about $10-20 dollars. Both are accurate. My food was ready within 15 minutes and cost 17.99( $20 after taxes)I ordered the 3 enchilada plate and was definitely not disappointed. The serving was large. It came with a little salad which I love cause I like a bit of lettuce atop my enchiladas. They were good!I got red sauce and also really like that you get to choose the filling for each enchilada. So I was able to try 3 different ones in a single plate order. I got shredded chicken, carnitas, and beef. The beef is cut pieces, not ground.Young lady at the front was very nice and gave good service in our brief interaction. They have a salsa bar that is self serve with lots of choices and ice water too.The only things that bugged me wereA. No complimentary chips on a $20 plate is crazy (sold separately)B. Idk if it was a typo or they give you a huge serving but $3.50 for a side of sour cream is unhinged. (I totally did not get any)“
“Me and my wife stopped in on Christmas eve in the early afternoon. Not many people in and we had never eaten there. Got seated quickly. Wife ordered the burrito vegano and I got a al pastor burrito. The burritos were huge and the salsa that came with them was amazing and nicely spicy. We hadn't eaten breakfast so having a huge meal was nice, didn't need to eat much for dinner that night. I also had the Mexican mocha which was really nice.We came back a few weeks later on a Sunday, it was much busier and noisier but it is a small place and it was pretty full. We got seated and our server from last time came over to say hi and that she remembered us. This time my wife ordered the tofu fajitas bowl and I ordered the torta ahgada which I was warned was very spicy which was good for me. Food came out quickly for how busy they were. My torta was fantastic and the spice was right on, it cleared my sinuses that was for sure. Service both times was great and the food was spectacular. Will be coming back here often.“
“This is a great bang for your buck. The food & margaritas are really good (I've only gone around dinner time / in the early evening, not late night so I can't vouch for the late night vibe). The service is a bit slow but the people who work there are usually really nice and accommodating. The prices are really good and reasonable - definitely doesn't break the bank which is refreshing around downtown. My friend and I both agree that we want to come here more! Fun spot.“
“Nice lunch spot. Dinnner is much more chill. Very clean location, always friendly & fast service. The food is standard fare, the flavors are right but not super spicy, probably to accomodate all clientelle. I appreciate the salsa bar & that Door Dash is an option. Always a good experience.Vegetarian options: 5 items.Parking: Busiest at lunch but shopping center is large.Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster seats. Cups with lids. No kids menu.“
