About Montesacro - Walnut Creek

Montesacro is an authentic Italian restaurant known for its delicious food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Guests often praise the pizza, especially the margarita pizza, which is described as delicious with amazing sauce. The pasta, including gnocchi with marinara sauce, is highly loved and considered exceptional. The artichoke appetizer is highly recommended, though some reviews mention occasional issues with availability and service timing. The octopus dish receives high praise, considered the best in over 30 years by some diners. The restaurant also offers craft cocktails, with staff members being knowledgeable and attentive. Main courses like halibut with chickpeas and zucchini received mixed reviews; some found the spices overpowering and the vegetables unappetizing, while others enjoyed their meals. The ambiance gives a feeling of dining in Italy, making it a perfect spot for dinner before theater or a date night. Despite occasional service hiccups, Montesacro is highly recommended for its quality, authentic taste, and welcoming environment.

Food and drinks were great. Lucas provided amazing service!

Went for dinner the other night. Had the Cacio e Pepe, one of my favorite pastas. It was delicious. Wife had the Saffron Risotto, also perfectly cooked. Service was a bit slow but the sever was friendly and the food was a welcome surprise. Only complaint was the chairs were uncomfortable. Will definitely go again.

Everything was perfection, from the greeting by Antony the host, to the bread, the pinsas and the coffee. The pinsas are light and crispy. The coffee is bold. And the fresh baked pane is served with a lovely olive oil. This is a must go.
