“I look forward to every trip I make to the East Bay and especially the mornings, when I drive just down the road to this old school donut shop. They make donuts the way I use to like them as a child over 50 years ago. I especially love the apple fritters and the breakfast sandwiches, but all the donuts are great! If you remember the donuts of long ago, long before the Krispy Kreme and other modern gourmet donut nonsense, then give Alhambra Donuts a try!“

Had an awesome experiance at Johnny’s Donuts this morning. It was 5 AM on Mother’s Day and they still went above and beyond to have my order ready right on time (call a day before to give him a heads up, though you’re gonna be coming). Super friendly customer service, very welcoming people, and just a really pleasant conversation that early in the morning, which honestly made my day.

The freshly baked donut selection is amazing. You got everything from old-fashioned plain, glazed, chocolate, sprinkles, classic twists, and pretty much anything your heart desires. The filled donuts are awsome too, although sounds like those are usually made a little later in the day fresh:(

The inside is actually relatively big and comfortable, not cramped like many donut spots. One of the coolest parts is being able to see a lot of the baking process happening right there. You can tell they really care about quality seen that freshly baked one-to-one beauty laying in front of you and their customers, who are always happy!

“I go weekly and they've changed their frosting. King's had the best donuts for the longest time, but a couple of months ago they changed their frosting, and it's a bad change. It's sweeter, and not as flavorful. Tastes less like chocolate and more like sugar. My kids don't care, and the donut batter and cook is still good, but it's a worse donut than it was a year ago.“

“No-frills hole in the wall donut shop. One of the best donut shops in Vallejo, in my opinion. They do take card, but it’s sometimes easier to bring cash as there is not a minimum. Whenever I get a donut craving I’m there. Crunch doughnuts and crunch covered cinnamon rolls are our favorites!“

The owner explained that their Benecia store came and got most of their doughnuts because of a special event happening in Benecia.
