Had a strange encounter with the lady working there. She was rude for no reason, when asked if I could use the restroom she said $1, took me a second to realize she was maybe joking but her tone and face were serious. Terrible way to treat your customers. Then proceeds to yell give me money now, when my order ready and doesn't say anything else. That lady is rude and has terrible social skills, she then asks where I'm from. I won't be coming here again.

This place forces you to tip and it's dang there expensive! Don't know if it's because of inflation, but it sucks because I hadn't been here in years and it looks like that may continue now because of these things.Lady who made the sandwich was nice, but again, the pay pad prompts you to tip.... no other way around it as far as I noticed. She even told me I had to. And I should have a choice in that.

My daughter and I love the lady that works at this shop. She made our sandwiches quickly and they were very good. She struck up a conversation with my teen and they hit it off before she threw in a cookie for her. So sweet of her! Yes, we will be coming back a lot.

Generally, I love coming to Mr. Pickles. However, today my experience was not so good. I did an online order because I was going out of town. When I arrived at my destination I found out my order was completely wrong and it had stuff on the sandwich that I'm allergic to. When I called to discuss my order while they did offer to remake it, I told them I was unable to come back in time they said "Sorry about that" and disconnected. *Quick Update I came into the shop the next day and they remade my sandwich for me. I appreciate them correcting their mistake. **

Ordered Goombas, the Deli and garden salad. Excellent customer service. Only thing is resteraunt is dark inside and it was rainy day so I grabbed to go versus sitting inside.

Fri veterans day visit.Female employee making my sandwich was so up and down. Average customer service skills. She was ok when she took my order and damn near verbally shoved me to the cashier as I was telling her about making it a combo with a pickle on the side. I felt so rushed and bothered by her tone, I forgot to make my sandwich right. U know .- the only sandwich I've ever ordered from this company since 2013. Anywho, I still tipped the cashier bc the machine prompts it. In front of others, she's asking me loudly with a big ol' smile if my sandwich is ok. As I leave with no other patrons around, I said bye and thank you, she switched up again and acted like I was bothering her. Maybe also bc the cashier disappeared and wasn't around. Super annoying.
I live in the Martinez area, and Mr. Pickles has turned into a go-to spot for me and my kids in the evenings because of the staff's friendliness and helpfulness. They also give out free cookies to the kids, which makes my kids happy, and the sandwiches are so flavorful that it's worth visiting again and again.

Had a few problems with way too much sauce, and just a general misunderstanding of how the sandwich should be made. The high counter which prevents the customer from seeing the sandwich while it's being made always lends itself to a "Hail Mary" experience when getting a sandwich here. Combine that with the constant rotating staff (red flag for any food business, don't let them say these are student jobs) , it means it's the last place in town I go to for a sandwich.
