Steve the owner and knowledgeable and keen wine maker gave us a great taste of his wine. It was a very enjoyable winery visit by wine lovers from Down Under. Highly recommended.

If you haven't stopped by, you definitely need to! There's no reason to drive to Napa or Livermore, amazing wine is right here in Martinez!

Wife and I love coming here for sumptuous locally produced wines. Steve the owner always gives a warm welcome and is a wealth of knowledge about winemaking. My band performs classic R&B at his tasting room in downtown Martinez on First Friday every other month. His patrons are fun, easy going and enjoy connecting.

If you haven't dropped by the William Welch Tasting room, you are missing out!! A fun tasting experience with the man who makes the wine. Look for events at night like magic shows and music. You can buy wine by the glass at the events, or a few bottles like we did to take home. If you buy some wine, your tasting fee is waived.Support local and enjoy good wine. The best of both worlds.

Steve is a knowledgeable and welcoming host. We came across his winery on Valentine's Day. He was closed for an event, but still invited us in and shared his delicious wines, including a 2016 Zifandel. I look forward to bringing family and friends to this spacey yet warm venue to sample wines for years to come.

The parking is a bit precarious, but other than that this place is great. The owner is friendly, and the backyard area is beautiful to sit and relax in. Feels unpretentious, like you’re over at a friend’s house having a glass of wine.

This place is a gem! We were greeted by Steve Welch and he told us all about the 5 wines we tasted and they were all so tasty. I bought the 2015 Zinfandel. The property is beautiful with lots seating in the front and back patio and across the street, you see the vineyards some of these wines were made from. Visiting William Welch Wines made for such a great day and I will definitely return to buy more wine!Oh and the tastings are free! All the more reason to come visit!
