Idle Spur Cafe Reviews
This was a great stop on our trip! The cafe is so cool and has such an authentic vibe. Our burgers and fries were really tasty too. I think the whole menu is likely great. Definitely a great in between stop that’s not Bakersfield!

Idle Spur Cafe offers great food, including large stakes and delicious Basque Friday night dinners featuring soup, bread, pickled tongue, and exceptional steak with mushrooms and garlic. The laid-back service and family-friendly ambiance make it a good spot to unwind. The cafe is clean and neat, and the staff are very nice and friendly. Visitors often praise the steak, especially when cooked rare and thick cut, seared on the outside and juicy inside. The menu is simple, with favorites like ribeye and thin cut fries, and the green beans are cooked with onion and tomato. It’s a true cowboy cafe nestled in the heart of American agriculture. On Mondays, guests can enjoy the experience of hearing the auction over the low-volume overhead speaker. Easily accessible from Highway 99 on the Westside along Hwy 46, it’s a great place for a satisfying meal before 2 pm, especially for biscuits and gravy.
