So amazing and fresh, lovely staff, and delicious cocktails!!
Server was great and personable. Service was slow. Food was good but pricy. The sashimi assorted plate was tasty - about 24 pieces for $48. All the rolls were unique in their own way. They also have sake bombs! :)
This is the best Japanese spot I have been to. Everything was outstanding. Gyoza, pineapple prawns, oyster shooters, rolls. The chef and his team are clearly very passionate and this is no ordinary place - this food is amazing you will be very happy.

Umami Sushi and Japanese Kitchen is a standout Japanese spot, with one reviewer calling it the best they have been to. The food is amazing, with everything outstanding, including Gyoza, pineapple prawns, oyster shooters, and rolls. The owner/chef and his team are very passionate, and the food and atmosphere are amazing. It is also very kid friendly, which was a big worry for one guest. The Reptar and Honey Crunch rolls are favorites, but you really can't go wrong. Their tempura is top tier, and the best gyoza in Humboldt was ordered a second round. The fried chicken with jalapeño aioli and the chef's choice sashimi plate were also hits. One diner called it one of the best dining experiences ever, with incredible, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared food, plus unmatched hospitality. The godzilla shumai was so delectable it was ordered for dessert, and rolls like summer in the city, a salmon avocado roll, and the seared salmon roll were to die for. The service can be slow, and the food is pricy, but the fun mixed drinks and phenomenal experience make it a must visit if not in a rush.
