I've never had a bad meal here. Food is amazing, service is amazing, atmosphere is friendly and comfortable. Best frosted mocha you'll ever have. I also highly recommend the #3 egg scramble.

This is a popular and busy cafe! I came here with friends for coffee & desserts. But I did notice a lot of people coming here to eatPRO:- Lots of places to sit- Good (not bitter) strong cappuccino- Rich chocolate layer cakeCON:- Does seem more of a eatery than a bakery/cafe (was hoping for more desserts).SUMMARY:Great place to meet up with friends to catch up. Would like to comment on the food but only did desserts and coffee which was nice.

Unfortunately the counter service has really gone downhill. I've been going here for years. Recent example of poor service: last week a service screw-up not only impacted me, but 3 other guests I brought with me. No apologies from the wait staff. One hour to get a simple order fixed.Specifics: Last week I placed an order to go in person at the counter, paid for it, and waited. And waited. And waited. Half an hour later I asked where my order was. The wait staff hadn't issued the order to the kitchen despite my having paid for it with a card which means the order is in their system. After 10 minutes, they found my order and "expedited" the order. 20 minutes later I got it. Total elapsed time: 1 hour.The 3 other people I was with waited patiently the entire time. I was very courteous to the wait staff.No appology from the wait staff for an obvious error by them. Astoundingly bad customer service.

The vanilla bean butter French toast is unreal. I'm not a breakfast person but that was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time

We waited almost 30 minutes for our food all the while watching folks who ordered way after us get served their food. After we asked about our order we were told it was next up. It was next up for the next 10 minutes. When we received our food, two dishes were cold. Turns out they had all the food waiting there while the pancakes were being made. I realize restaurants get busy or have off days- this happens. What sealed the deal for me was the insincere apology from the server who offered to microwave my eggs- after I had just waited almost 30 minutes for it. We spoke to a manager who agreed to refund us for the cold breakfast sandwich which couldn't be microwaved. She was young, inexperienced and needs to learn a few things about customer service. It was obvious why the servers had no idea how to handle a simple customer service issue because their supervisor barely knew what to do.

Great place, easy to get to, and a beloved favorite in Menlo Park. Full of students - Stanford and High School too, lots of students are wait staff.... And come back for years as workers and food-lovers Beautiful large outside patio, with umbrellas. Also limited indoor seating. Get in line to go to the counter and order, take your number and get your seat. Not sure what to get, ask the friendly counter person, they will help you choose... Take a look around - Keplers Book Store is next door also a local favorite. Great food, lots of variety, salads, pasta, desserts, get a tasty cookie and relax. Liquids? Great coffee, and loads of other selections like Beer, Wine It's on El Camino Real... and CalTrain has a station / parking lot behind the collection of stores. There's Parking Lot underneath the complex, because street parking can be difficult. Live Music played some nights, that's great fun but get there early. Go see, you'll love it.

Café Borrone had me very excited, it has ample seating and the vibe of a classic big cafe. However, I was let down a bit by the food here. They have a wide variety and drinks were good, but I never found any food items that hit the mark. Nothing was "bad" but just "meh" for the most part. I'm happy to eat here because of the location or to read a book, but not going to come specifically for the food.
