Flea Street and Jesse Cool have been treating us to innovative and delicious dishes for decades. We are so fortunate to have a place like this nearby especially when driving to SF feels unappealing. Vegetarian dishes are consistently tasty and beautifully presented. The carnivores among us appreciated their perfectly prepared short ribs. Yummy cocktails and a nice selection of wines by the glass and mocktails rounded out a wonderful meal.
The lavender lemondrop is a wonderful pre-dinner cocktail and the fresh greens as a starter was perfect before our dinners of crab gnocchi and mushroom risotto. Just delicious and the service was, as always, attentive and professional. This is a place where you can have quiet conversations without a lot of interruption and never disappoints with the food.
We hadn't been to Flea St. Cafe in a while and I found it to be pretty much unchanged from past experiences. Comparing to restaurants in the area with similar pricing, Flea St. has a few elevated dishes, whereas, some other restaurants I prefer, e.g. Ethel's Fancy, serve menus where nearly every item is outstanding.
