We love Uyghur food and so looked forward to trying it out here. Maybe it was a bad night but everything was rather sad: food, decor, even the clientele for dinner midweek. Momo was so-so. Some noodle dish was tasteless and full of onions. Dessert was no better than at a shopping mall. This place won’t survive like this.

I’m from a region where this food is part of everyday life, so I deliberately ordered lagman and plov because I know exactly how they should taste. As you can tell from my 2/5 rating, they didn’t come close - especially the plov, which was far off.

On top of that, the price felt too high for what you get. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. And my friend who accompanied me, had exactly the same thought. Super disappointing.

We did a takeout of noodles, mapo tofu, lamb skewers and veg skewers.
Everything was very flavorful. Lamb was outstanding.

Would love to try again.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I think this experience deserves to be shared in the hope it leads to improvement.

I visited Mrs. Khan Uyghur Cuisine around 6 PM with my family. From the start, the service felt tense — the server appeared visibly upset and unapproachable. Our food was served with long gaps in between dishes, which meant one person had to eat alone while the rest of us waited. When I gently asked about the delay, there was no apology or explanation. Instead, the next dish was slammed on the table.

When I calmly asked her to relax, she began yelling at us in the middle of the restaurant, which completely escalated the situation. Eventually, we were asked to leave. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and frankly humiliating experience — something I’ve never encountered in any restaurant before.

That said, I do recognize that the waitress appeared to be working alone, which I can only imagine is stressful and overwhelming. I have no doubt the job is demanding, and I empathize with that. But being under pressure is not an excuse for hostility, disrespect, or publicly lashing out at customers.

I value independent restaurants and culturally rooted food experiences, and I truly hope this review is received as constructive feedback. With better staffing, training, and customer communication, this could be a very different place.

I spent a few weeks in Xinjiang a million years ago and ate laghman -- the Uyghur's national dish -- two or three times a day. Loved it loved it loved it. Hadn't had any in over 25 years, then recently moved to the area and saw that downtown Menlo Park had a Uyghur place. Woo hoo!

The noodles and sauce are perfect. (The meat is surprisingly low-quality so I ask for it without the meat and just get some flank steak slicked up for stir-fry at Whole Foods and cook that up at home to add.) The portion is generous and the dish keeps well in the fridge for a few days.

Great authentic Uyghur cuisine. Food are nice in huge portion. Love the milk tea and the yogurt. They are short staffed, especially during busy dining hours so don’t expect quick and adequate service. Other than that, it’s a great place for friends and family!

We were very happy to rediscover Uyghur Restaurant again. There was one in my town but closed few years ago.
Luckily I stumbled on this Uyghur Cuisine which is like 40 min from my house. Excellent food and service.

I will go again and already told my children about it.

I found their meals too oily and unnecessarily expensive. Those beef pieces in the stir fried noodles were not that chewable. The pumpkin mantas were deep fried rather than steamed.

Love coming here with my family. Food is halal and delicious. Their portions are large, meant to be family style. We love getting the chicken korma (get the smaller option its still very large, enough to share 2-4 people), it is spicy with delicious hand-pulled noodles. The orange chicken is well tasty. My other favorite dishes are the laghman which has a zesty tomato base and the stir-fry beef noodles. Beef is cooked perfectly and well spiced. For most of the dishes, if you don’t prefer your food very spicy I would ask for less spicy. Their tea adds another level to your experience, if you are a tea girlie like me, get a pot of tea after your meal. They also have a small space and rugs for prayer! Lastly, it is family and women owned!
