They are our go to spot for sushi. They have so many rolls to choose from. We have both non sushi lovers in our home and they have plenty to choose from.

Family came here to share some sushi.... I had the spice girls roll (spicy tuna, cucumber and wakame salad) and an order of unagi nigiri. Hubby got the sushi platter (which also included salad and miso). Everyone left happy and stuffed! Very friendly service as well. :-)

This is hands down the best sushi spot I’ve ever been to. They know me by name because I’m there every week now. The staff is awesome and the chef is amazing. You can tell they only use fresh fish and that they are passionate about serving you the absolute best sushi. I could be having the worst day in the world but if I come here, grab some sushi, and have an ice cold Sapporo it brings me right out of my funk. After Octopus, you’ll realize you’re just wasting your time and money at the other spots.Parking: There’s about 20 parking spaces right behind the restaurant. Too easy to park.

Regular patron, I've been meaning to write a review since I've been coming here since they opened. Typically get take-out for the occasional weeknight dinner. Top-notch fish every time, they pretty much set a high standard for takeout. Thanks Jeff

I didn't realize this gem was in my neck of the woods til my friend introduced me. I could see it being a perfect spot for an intimate dinner, hang-out with friends, or solo-dining. I'll be ordering take-out from them in the future since it's on my way home from work, otherwise I don't think I'd mind dining solo here, the ambience is cozy and just right IMO. The service is also great! Underrated sushi spot, definitely recommend!!

I'm visiting from NYC and my friends took me to this spot for dinner last weekend and I LOVED IT! Ambiance was amazing! I'm usually skeptical of sushi spots that have a variety of rolls because they typically skimp on the quality of fish they use, but the rolls and sashimi were FRESH. Not to mention, the prices are very affordable for this area apparently since it's close to Stanford and Palo Alto? Anyway, delicious and thank you for being accommodating with the seating that night!

Attention Owner: Astounding and shameful dining experience. Lacked complete hospitality. No genuine smiles. Two sushi bar workers appeared disgruntled and unhappy. The quality of food was less than average. I am thankful for the observations of workers glued to their cellphones, sitting around seemingly "bored" and the female server monitoring/hounding me while I was sorting the bill. Incredibly rude and gravely inappropriate. One of the most repulsive, awkward and rushed dinner encounters. Please polish your overall business and I may return.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My favorite casual sushi spot in the bay area! Their food is always so fresh and the rolls are so well made! My favorites are the starburst roll, and the JJ's special roll! The place is a bit small and can get busy sometimes and they don't take reservations so be sure to come early! The service is normal, nothing super special. But the sushis are just soooo goood!!

Placed a pickup order via doordash but had to wait 15 after arriving at the store. Doordash said it should be ready between 6:08-6:18 and i arrived by 6:18, only to be told that its not ready and why did i arrive until they said its ready on the app. I left work according to the pickup placeFurther more instead of apologizing, they were telling me that its rush during evenings and were telling me its my fault that I arrived on time before checking the app, and i even showed them the app says that its time for pickup. When i asked why do they not increase their estimate on doordash, i was told that if they do that then no one will want to order from there which essentially means they would rather lie to customers and make them wait instead of giving proper estimate.

Octopus Japanese Restaurant is a hole in the wall restaurant with an extensive menu, which includes sushi, bento boxes, tempura, soups, specialty rolls, octopus specials, and salads. We showed up to the restaurant without a reservation, but we were seated right away. The restaurant has a cozy vibe. Our server was very nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. My friend and I decided to try their omakase nigiri. There are 3 different options for omakase nigiri-1. 8 pc. for $282. 10 pc. for $323. 12 pc. for $35We both got 12 piece omakase nigiri. This included 12 different fish nigiri-1. Halibut2. Mackerel3. Shrimp4. Yellowtail5. Salmon6. Albacore7. Sea clam8. Sea bass9. Octopus10. Tuna11. Skipjack Tuna12. SquidOur meal started off with complementary miso soup and salad. The miso soup was decent. The omakase was good for the price we paid. It would be unfair to compare it with any premium omakase experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the sizeable portion of fish that crowned each piece of nigiri. With that being said, some of the nigiri smelled very fishy. We had to call our server to enquire about all the different types of fish that we were served. The omakase came with ginger and wasabi on the side. The soy sauce was a bit salty.
