Robin offers a menu ranging from $109-209 and depending on the price point, the menu will be personalized accordingly. Opted for the $209 menu (18 courses) and it ended up being just okay. My underlying reason for this was although the menu was creative, with toppings like beef butter, apples, salted egg, etc respectively throughout the courses-- the quality was not great. For $209 I expected melt in your mouth quality yet I've been to omakases at just a fraction of the price with better quality than what I had at Robin. There was also a potato chip nigiri that was given near the end as a "filler" obviously because it was just a HUGE chunk of rice with a thin potato chip on top. You can see how thick the rice was in my pic. It was also an experience to have this meal with The Motto by Drake playing in the background LOL (Not mad about-- it was just interesting...)

Ideally I would have to say I would give Robin a 3.5 stars. Upon arriving to the restaurant, it was storming outside and there were no signs for us to find the place. When we entered, we got greeted by friendly staff members and got seated. I think what makes Robin a bit more unique compared to other omakase places is that you can choose your own price range and the chefs accommodate with what you had picked, but in my opinion I would have preferred them to give a set price to choose from. Inside of the restaurant was beautiful, I loved the interior design, but if you're looking for a quiet/intimate omakase experience this is not the place for that. Music is pretty loud and the parties around us were talking with their outside voice , which I didn't mind because like I mentioned the vibes at Robin is definitely more casual. In terms of the quality of food, I would have to say, while everything was super fresh and good, nothing stood out to me. On top of that, every omakase I've been to so far, I would have been full 80% in but we left Robin still hungry. Our total came out to be $470, and I would have expected to leave full. I wished they had taken out the potato chip nigiri and the noodle dish, because I would have preferred to receive more fish. The nigiri that was part of the courses was super small, and as I mentioned, while everything was good, I was not amazed. Still highly recommend if you've never experienced omakase before, only tip is to book at the bar seating bc you'll get the full experience that way.

Had a phenomenal experience at the Sushi Bar, 10/10. The hospitality is incomparable and outmatched others We are fond of Omakase and this place tops our list for the fraction of the cost compared to Michelin Star, similar restaurants. It's that good that we've already made resy for our next revisit. Shout-out to Chef Scott, Sonia and Abby who made our dining experience, memorable.

After seeing Robin all over social media posts, I caved and decided to give it a try. Although I enjoyed the overall dining experience, this is not your typical omakase meal. Almost all of the nigiris come with some form of toppings that either complements or compromises the quality of the fish, to each their own. I personally prefer eating traditional, fresh, high quality fish than the creative, fusion style offered at Robin. They served Santa Barbara uni as opposed to Hokkaido uni at the $150 price point and that was rather disappointing even for someone who doesn't even enjoy uni. My favorite piece was certainly the otoro as always. Other pieces that were surprisingly good would be the Kampachi with grated Granny Smith apple topping, the New Zealand king salmon w/truffle butter, the bluefin tuna Akami w/wagyu butter, and the albacore sashimi w/thai papaya salad. The one I did not particularly enjoy would be the toro w/shaved pistachio - just why would you pair them together lol. If you are more adventurous and open to the idea of Asian fusion omakase, you are in for a treat as they have a very unique style of serving nigiris and you never know what to expect. Like I said, I enjoyed the food but it is simply my personal preference to have it the traditional way. I also want to mention that they pre-sliced the fish for efficiency and they were also playing Bay Area hip hop/r&b music in the background that really didn't match the vibe of a Japanese restaurant. Overall, I think it is good for value in a sense that they served a lot of food at the $150 price point and I walked out feeling really full.

Mystery Menu Omakase! Everything was delicious! This restaurant had an intimate, classy, modern vibe which I loved. Every dish was amazing... the dessert was such a delightful palette cleanser as well. Amazing 5 star service to go with great sushi!

Robin's concept is serving omakase with a modern twist. It does sound interesting so I was really looking forward to checking it out but I quickly realized that it's not my cup of tea. Food: 3.9/5 - Fresh high quality ingredients however nothing really stood out to me. Everything was okay. Flavors were creative but I was not a fan. Customer Service: 3/5 - No interaction with the chefs. There are very limited counter seating so make sure to make a reservation early if you want to see the chefs making the nigiri. Our server was pretty attentive and explained each dish but that is expected. Price: 4/5 - Varies. You can choose what you want to pay and the chef will make you items in that price point. Environment: 3/5 - Got lost trying to find the restaurant since the sign isn't very noticeable. Lighting was very dim. The restaurant was also pretty loud so I found it very hard to have a conversation. Once again, this type of modern omakase is not really my thing so I wouldn't come back. However, I would still recommend this place for anyone that is looking to try something unique.

This was one of the best omakase experiences I've ever had. The fusion cuisine met my expectations and the convenient location was a significant bonus!

Amazing expertise, pricy but worth it! Ambience: loved the interior design & lighting. Modern, cool and very Japanese. Even dishes/pottery were cool. Service: it was great! Staff are so well-trained & professional but also friendly and nice. The kept checking on us, filling up our water & sake, no complains. Cost: it's definitely pricy but worth it. There is no menu. You pick your price range, from $120 to $220 and the just bring you lots of delicious delicate dishes. We had many dishes and I have more photos than what I'm uploading here now. It's high quality food and a good portion - we were very satisfied, and full when we left. Food: They will bring you many dishes in smaller portions. All dishes were beautiful & tasty. Fresh quality fish with great flavors. Some of our favorites were the Thai inspired fish, the lightly sear wagyu w/ foie gras, the trout, otoro, and the ice cream dessert was fantastic and perfect ending. Best part was we added one more order of our favorite fish, of course for extra cost. Sake: a good list of sake. We picked a nicer bottle and loved it.

I’ve been to over a hundred michelin stars. I know Robin Menlo Park is new… but if Robin SF is anything like this, it should have a star by now.The atmosphere, dinnerware, glassware, stoneware, silverware, and bathrooms are all very modern. I believe they source most fish semi-locally (primarily around the continent), with the exception of their blue fin tuna (Japan)… but everything was still incredible. Stellar service and beautifully prepared nigiris. You pick a price-point between $109-209 and they prepare omakase for you. Even for $209, I thought everything was great value. We had our dinner at the bar and highly recommend it.

Came here to celebrate my engagement with my fiancé and was immediately welcomed by the staff. Everyone had a friendly and welcoming demeanor. We were waited on by Erin and chef Yuya served us for our omakase. Erin was very attentive to our needs and was constantly filling up our water/sake. She was also very pleasant and easy to talk to. Chef Yuya was very knowledgeable about every dish and listened to our needs/wants. He fully informed us about every dish and adjusted the menu for us as he learned what we liked. I told my fiancé I could "die happy" after this meal. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants to experience wonderful food and quality service.

Robin Menlo Park is an alternative omakase that delivers all of the attentiveness and ingredient focus in a more modern and approachable form. Having booked this last minute, I have to say that I felt particularly lucky off the bat with this restaurant, especially considering the reservation was for a Friday night. After finding plentiful parking in the underground structure, we took the lift up to the ground level. Please note the restaurant is hidden behind a row of tall hedges and only the symbol was visible. Once we found our way, we were greeted warmly by the host and seated right away at the sushi bar and greeted by our chef of the night, Andrew. After quickly explaining the menu is spending/allergy-based, we told the chef how much we wanted to spend (all patrons have a choice between $109 and $209 pp at this time), ordered our beverages and then Andrew was off to the races. Each sushi was carefully made in front of us and then a thorough explanation was provided on the key ingredients along with their creation process. Andrew did this with every dish, never skipping a beat and always cognizant to acknowledge and engage with every one of the 6 patrons he served in his section. All I can say is each bite resembles like most nigiri you would find but featured much more unique and daring flavor combinations than any other omakase you will find. One of the stand outs for me were the bacon uni and wagyu akame, which tasted exactly like a steak upon consumption. The dessert was also very unique and made completely in house with a resemblance to some Japanese desserts with a much more daring/unique profile. All in all, the splendid service, familiar and yet unique flavors combine for an omakase experience I find incomparable to any others in the bay area. I was particularly fond of the musical choice as well, comfortably blasting late 90s and early 2000s hip hop the entire time and emanating a vibe I can only describe as immaculate. This was the sushi experience everybody needs to have as it shows that good sushi isn't exclusively found in overpriced, stuffy and unfriendly ambiances that many patrons have grown accustomed to. I can't wait to revisit as the Robin of MP continue to develop their menu!

What an experience it was at Robin! The restaurant is tucked discreetly behind some bamboo in the front off of El Camino. We sat at the sushi bar and the head sushi chef and another sushi chef introduced each piece. Highlights were the tuna with wagyu fat on top (tasted like a piece of steak). The ambience was intimate and dimly lit inside surrounding the bright sushi bar area. Loved the R&B music, definitely my jam as a Xennial. Enjoyed each dish and they used fun and creative flavor pairings. Come here if you want a modern take on omakase sushi.
