Shiok is a small dining room with large flavors. The lunch specials were great and the teas delightful. Service was lovely. I’ll go again next time I’m in the area.

First visit here but won't be our last! Enjoyed Roti with divine veggie curry sauce, crispy tofu topped with mushrooms & carrots dressed with superb scallion sauce, and yummy garlic pepper chicken. Service was excellent and helpful. Highly recommend this delicious and affordable dinner in pricey “downtown” Menlo Park.

Food was fine. Had food poisoning that has me in the bathroom 12x in 8 hours. Not recommended unless you enjoy nausea and diarrhea.

So disappointed. Singapore food is famously yummy and satisfying. This restaurant ruins all that. I’m sure this family situation means well, but the kitchen is hugely lacking in talent and the family members out front need to learn everything about basic service. Our Five Spice Pork Roll was weirdly flavourless and with a consistency that felt like it was made yesterday and microwaved. My Duck Garlic Noodles (Sounds fantastic, right?) had an awful presentation - and btw was brought to table one minute after the appetizer had arrived, so my wife watched me eat… - with a small portion, flavourless prep, and oddly all the noodles chopped into small segments like for a child. My wife’s Laksa - a Singapore staple - was almost okay but the pre-cooked noodles were way overcooked - a cardinal sin. The two lads handling service - we were the only seated customers btw - never collected any of the dishes!! Drives me nuts. So, avoid avoid avoid!! This family needs to pivot into something (ANYTHING) else besides restaurant business.

Good Singaporean food. Very friendly service. Hokkien Mee was great, followed by Char Kway Teow. The restaurant is small, so make a reservation, otherwise you'll be turned away if all the tables are filled up an hour after they open. The restaurant opens at 5:30pm for dinner, yet Open Table allows reservations for 5pm and 5:15pm. At around 5:15pm the restaurant was definitely still closed and all the chairs were still on top of the tables. But they opened promptly at 5:30pm.

The employees were very friendly. The response time for assistance was fast. The restaurant had an intimate setting with volume levels low enough to have a conversation without having to speak loudly. The food exceeded our expectations. We are looking forward to returning to this restaurant.

Seating is limited here. I went during a rainy night, so it wasn’t crowded. Food and service were good.
Always like the Roti and the Sambal Okra - excellent. Nasi Lemak is good too. It's been a while but I think the fried rice dishes are good too.Satay is a little dry even though it looks great.
This is where you find authentic Singaporean food. Hands Down. The Char Kay Teow and Hokkien Mee is better than the ones I had in Singapore. Cautious. They are addictive.

The dishes that are vegan or that can be made vegan are clearly labeled on the menu, and there are a few options. The menu in the restaurant is different from the one online. I ordered a dish with vegetables and tofu with peanut sauce. The sauce was kind of bland and the veggies were not substantial, just some shredded. The tofu was tasty and carried the dish. Portions were small and it would have benefited from a bed of rice.

its very suspicious about earlier good ratings for this restaurant. One of the worst service. Waiters are horrible. Try to ignore since you enter in the restaurant. They never ask you once the service starts. Force you to order fast. ignores you all time. Food compare to price its super expensive. Highly not recommended. Not even worth of trying once.

A cozy Asian eatery that seats 25-30 people, offering exceptionally delicious and authentic dishes. It has a few outdoor seating also. I savored the flavors of roti prata, rice pot, and mee goreng. Highly recommended for those looking to experience Singaporean cuisine. Free Parking available in the neighborhood.
