I only tried their pies at the nearby Alice’s Restaurant in the Woodside area in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The cherry pie is just about perfect: loaded with cherries, not too sweet, flaky lattice crust, and wonderful after a mountain bike ride. The boysenberry pie is nearly as good, but I don’t really like boysenberries. Still, I wanted to try it on my 2nd visit, and boysenberry lovers will likely go over the moon on this pie. They have a LOT of pastries. The Napoleon is perfect with just the right amount of sweetness. They also have savory options like quiches, spinach/cheese croissants, and vegetarian mini pizzas if you are looking for lunch.
I brought an apple pie to my chosen family of pie aficionados this Thanksgiving - and they were blown away. This pie is incredible cold, and like a hot apple cider when warmed. It goes with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, whatever you wish. I am soooooo happy that I made the decision to take some time to myself this Thanksgiving and order this pie from the bakery. So lucky to have such an outstanding place in the neighborhood!
