Sadly, this restaurant is CLOSED AGAIN! It was a great place for authentic food in a family atmosphere. Service was good, but they just couldn't get the word out to potential customers! It was a family run group who we local folks, so it is really a shame they couldn't make it a huge success! Rest in peace Auntie's at the Eagle's Nest Restaurant!!! Another good restaurant in Merced bites the dust!

Good little restaurant and bar. Food stops around 8:50 but I ordered to eat in the lounge around 8:45 and they let me. Lounge has a wide variety to choose from. The people are so out of the way polite, it was a great experience. This is great American soul food restaurant with a lounge. I will make another trip make next time through.

Went here with big expectations due to growing up in South LA near many soul-food places. I had waffles and chicken, the waffles were almost cold after an hour wait. The chicken lacked flavor and it was like a catfish batter texture. The waiter never stopped by the table to see if we needed anything. We were the only customers!! The pulled pork was average and on wrong kind of roll. We did not get the detail receipt just told how much we owed. It was a strange experience almost like we were not welcomed. Once we left folks were smiling.....strange....I am hoping they improve their customer service, by greeting folks when they enter not just leave, checking in with folks when the wait is more than 15 minutes (over an hour wait and we were the only customers) offering dessert and explaining the menu. The menu was not very friendly due to it being divided by days of the week specials and it was a weekend after lunch buffet. This place is also pricey for three people it was $45. We left hungry and dissatisfied we stopped somewhere else to get dessert. Overall wish this place the best but needs to improve.

Waited over an hour for our food, and they forgot our orders. It wasn't even busy. The portions are big but not worth the hour wait. Food is dry. Hulu was cold. Overcooked chicken. Bartender was nice though. Let me amend that: my sister still didn't get her food after 1.5 hours and counting. 0 stars if possible.

Our party of six was seated we were given menus the waitress in training by herself had no pad to write down the orders . we ordered some sweet potato fries which we never got until much later as an appetizer the first order was brought in which was supposed to have sweet potato fries also but it didn't. the next order was brought in and it was okay the next order for the other three guests never arrived after almost two hours of waiting. I kept waiting for the TV cameras to come out with the guy off of what would you do program to come out and surprises but that never happened. so we finally decided we go somewhere else and eat and the cashier wanted to charge us full price for the three dinners when the waitress said they would charge us half price for the three meals the trainee waitress if she hadn't been so sweet we would have left much sooner so overall the total experience is a 1 we will not return to this restaurant

Embarrassing. Restaurant Nightmare. I went to dinner to celebrate my young niece's accomplishments in school. Friday night 6:30pm. Restaurant lights were half turned off. One party of about 10-12 people and one couple were seated. 1.75 hours later--from our group of 6 people, only 3 got their dinner and as we were going to leave cashier still wanted to charge $46 when our waitress said he'd give us half off our meals. I can't imagine this place staying open much longer with this abominable level of service. Missing half the items on the menu, couldn't bring out fried catfish "it'll be up in a minute" turned into 45 minutes. After 1 hour and 45 minutes we left. Also cashier refuses to share name of owner to hear our concerns and could not provide a receipt. Positives: The lettuce was crisp at the not-fresh, empty salad bar. A kind man from the party on the other side of the partition brought our table some cake and the waitress who was in training was polite and probably embarrassed. I worry she will be out of a job when this place closes down. I'd like to believe our experience was appalling because the restaurant ran out of food or ingredients and not because we do not fit the owner's profile of a customer who could be served. Overall I'd like this business to be successful since we need more options for eating in our town and I wish the owners the best.

Best fried chicken in the Central Valley!! Definitely did not disappoint. Collard greens on point, stuffing on point, and that Fried Chicken tho!!! Oh my goodness, it was on point I even ate the cartilage off the chicken! Lol. It didn't get five stars cause ambiance needs some work, but food is legit. I will definitely return for the lunch buffet and am looking forward to dinner here. This review is all based on the fried chicken experience. Go eat one already!!!

I had the fried chicken and it was delicious. My daughter had the wings and cleaned her plate. This place is really good and we will be back.

The chicken and waffles in this pretty humble restaurant was great! There's not much besides fast food at this stop, but this place was worth pulling over. Home style fried chicken and a fresh crispy waffle, friendly staff.

Here we go again. Paid almost$40.00 for two on Thanksgiving buffet and we were so disappointed. We were hoping to get the turkey which should have been prepared in the middle of the afternoon, never came. Had little chunks of dried out ham, looking like left overs, not great at all. everything was leftovers. The salad had a funny taste, dried out corn muffins,no butter no gravy, runny Mac and cheese, and creamed corn. actually very little offered to eat, and very small amounts on the buffet line. The food was cold too. The people who ran this were nice, very nice, but the food just wasn't up to restaurant standards. We were hoping to find a new favorite place to go, but nothing at Auntie's would make us want to go back. Mc Donalds and Burger King are right across the street. Better choice.

The food was pretty darn good. If you are not in a hurry and just want to hang out and eat, this is a good place to do it.

Another first. Been wanting to come here for a while now, just never have. Boy have we been missing out. Food was awesome! Fish and fried chicken. Candied yams were off the F-ing hook. I could eat a plate of them. Mmmmmmm! The fried corn was the bomb as well. Waitress was a sweetheart, just needs to come around a little more. She did hook us up with a slice of 7-up cake. OMG. I'm so full and very happy. We will be coming back again.

I believe this place can be stellar. I came to this place after reading the Yelp reviews. Plus it is the only Southern restaurant in Central Valley. I love soul food and you can only have so much Mexican. I need a change now and again. I ordered the fried chicken with Mac and cheese. With side order of Green Beans, Sweet potatoes and Corn bread. My husband ordered the Shrimp and Broccoli Fettuccine with Garlic bread. His side dish Green Beans. Dinner comes with Soup or Salad and this self serve. So, on this day particular day there was two types of soup. A vegetable and clam chowder soup. I chose the Clam Chowder it was okay. It could have used a little salt. My husband made a salad and I wish had the salad. The salad dressing taste freshly made. It was over the top good. My husband got a dab of potatoe salad and coleslaw. The potatoe salad was okay. But that coleslaw was the bomb! I took a bite and it took me back to my childhood. My mama used to make her coleslaw that way. So, our dinner came the chicken moist and tender. Perfectly fried chicken. But it could have used a little salt. The green beans OMG good. The sweet potatoes had the right amount of seasoning. The cornbread was cold and that was disappointing. My husband enjoyed the fettuccine with shrimp. He only wished he had more than 5 Shrimp. The next time we will order extra Shrimp. The garlic bread had a little much butter. But overall the food was pretty good and I will be back. They have a full service Bar. My husband ordered a Bloody Mary and he said it was pretty darn good. Plus they have half price drinks during happy hour. The waitresses were exceptional. I could not complain even if I wanted to. Thanks for making my experience a wonderful.

We just finished a wonderful meal at Auntie's. My husband is from New Orleans and really misses southern home cooking, but now that we've found Auntie's, we know where to go for our fix! The fried chicken was great and the prime rib was perfectly cooked and all of it was an awesome value. We really appreciate the southern hospitality and the lagniappe (little somethin extra)-- they sent us home with amazing sweet potato cheesecake, two different ways, to sample! It was a tough decision, but we decided the full sweet potato version was our favorite. We'll be back soon and pass along the good word about the wonderful southern home cooking happening at Auntie's in Merced!
