Went today for father's day. Service was ok, but the food was terrible. The tortilla chips were burnt and stale, the refried beans were watery. Our overall experience was horrible & we'll never go back. Also wayyy too expensive for the quality of food.
Saw somebody at the bar get kicked out for no reason. Shame on the bartender.

Worse place to eat . Waiting over 2 hrs
Las Islitas Mariscos Bar provides a pleasant atmosphere for diners seeking Mexican seafood cuisine. During our visit, we found the food to be flavorful, with decent portion sizes. The wet burrito, while tasty, could have benefited from a bit more sauce to enhance its overall appeal. One aspect to note is their soda policy, which allows for only one refill. This may be a downside for some guests who prefer unlimited refills with their meal.Another area for improvement is the attentiveness of the wait staff. While friendly, they could have been more proactive in checking on our table and ensuring we had everything we needed.Despite these minor drawbacks, Las Islitas Mariscos Bar is a suitable choice for those looking for a satisfying meal in a comfortable setting.

Soft tacos- tortilla was cold & too hard.$7 Fish tacos— deep fried fish$7 Shrimp tacos- deep fried shrimp tasted like burn cooking oil.Sea food caldo was $30 the bowl.. it was so spicy my mouth was on fire and I was not able to eat it.. I asked for a different sea food caldo that is NOT spicy but they said they are all made with the same caldo.. very disappointed!!

Now after some time that the restaurant established themselves in Merced as one of the few places that serve seafood. I have enjoyed twice a visit, the first was a lunch , the second was a dinner. Both times were excellent. The second time I found myself going to the Karaoke and taking on 2 songs while waiting for the food lol. I had a good time, food was great. Will go back soon.

Restaurantji Recommends
This place used to be my go-to bar which was La hasina 2. Every time I show up to this place is nobody there supporting this business. This tells me that whoever owns this place is dedicated to quality over quantity. I've lived in this Central valley for a long time and every restaurant that boast about their mariscos has stale shrimp. I went there tonight and the oysters were delivered this morning for the oyster sauce I took and every single time that I've been there they have the best shrimp on the planet. You can believe me or don't but I highly suggest that you support this place because they are about their quality over quantity. If you can't appreciate that then this place will disappear and I'm sorry for that. By the way I am a graduate of a culinary institute and I'm telling you if you want the finest shrimp on the planet come to this place they won't let you down. I hope you all get involved because this is a great place and if you don't support it it's going to disappear like everything else in Merced because people are stupid.LETS GOOOOOI.

There only seemed to be one waitress. Service was slow and place wasn't busy. Food is mostly sea food plates. Mexican food is not what I'm accustomed too. Not many Mexican food dishes offered. I personally don't care for there menu. However, I recommend you try it and form your own opinion.

The 7 seas broth is 30 dollars and very little seafood and no vegetables, very expensive for what it offers and the flavor is not very good, we will sing them at 15 dollars, very expensive. The truth is not worth it.
