Jantz is a family atmosphere with loving food and a sense of belonging.Monique
I stopped by Jantz after receiving a free pie coupon at the Children’s Summit for First 5 Merced County, and I’m so glad I did! I ordered a vanilla iced latte, snickerdoodle cookies, and a pumpkin scone. Since Starbucks discontinued their pumpkin scone, I’ve been searching for a replacement, and Jantz’s version is actually better! The snickerdoodles are the best I’ve ever tasted, soft, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The vanilla iced latte was also very good (next time I’ll order nonfat milk so the flavor balance is just right). Overall, this charming little café completely won me over. I’ll definitely be back!
The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Highly recommend!
Great food, friendly staff.
Passive-aggressive staff left us sitting for half an hour and seated other customers before us because they were regulars. We arrived at 12:30, hoping to get breakfast, which they say is served until 1:00 on Saturday. One couple ahead of us got seated right away. Two other groups left, several empty tables, we continued to wait. 12:45 another couple comes in who appeared to be regulars and was seated five minutes later, despite arriving 15 minutes after us. At this point it was clear we weren’t getting breakfast, so we decided to leave and go to the Bar B-Q Pit down the street, where the staff was much more friendly and breakfast was delicious.
Love Jantz Cafe! Great place for meals and desserts!
Very happy with my purchase I would go back super fresh food n yummy
Always awesome
I ordered an order to go. I got my usual all meat omelette with potatoes and toast. I was disappointed when I got home and there was no jam for my toast, no salsa for my omelette and no ketchup for the potatoes. Overall the food was excellent like usual.
Pleased that there are fresh gluten free options♡

My favorite place to get pie locally. The other baked treats can sometimes be a miss. Their lemon bars are always perfect, though.
The owners and most of the staff are not Amish. They are Holdeman Mennonites. They are far more worldly and stylish than the Amish. They make the same types of food.
Where can you find apricot pie? They have it and it's delicious! The apricots come from a local source. Merced is my homertown. Every time I visit relatives I buy a whole apricot pie at Jantz.
Friendly staff. The mexican lady manager is not that friendly, at the merced store. Other girls are friendly. I like all their pies and pastries. They have nice coffee blends that you can't get anywhere else.
We discovered Jantz during Christmas because I wanted to bring a yummy dessert to lunch! We bought a peanut butter pie and Berry pie- both are delicious !
